It is always recommended to flash a new ROM at 100% battery for good battery life.
If my battery life in a Custom ROM is not good (as i didn't flashed it at 100% battery) can i make nandroid backup for it. (Of, course i can, but will it work good, will battery life will be good if i flash the same ROM from nandroid backup at 100% battery.????
P.S: I bought a new battery, old one swelled. This one is not draining the same as before but it isn't giving good battery life.
When i leae it unplugged on standby at night, it was 19% woke up after 8 hours, still 19%. But, with usage it decreases fastly. like 10%
within 15 minutes.
Help me in both of these queries please ......

Hi all, based on my experience of flashing various different ROMs, most of the ROM shouldn't have the battery drain issue. However, I discovered some times after flashing a new ROM the device gets much warmer and the battery drains very quickly.
When this happens the best solution is to shutdown the device, pull the battery out for 5 minutes or so to let it cool down. Then put it back and turn on the device and the battery drain problem should be resolved.
I haven't been able to find the reason behind that but it does make a big difference. With one of the ROM I flashed, the battery went from 100% to flat in less than a day even when no WiFi and no bluetooth are turned on. Then I recharged the device, pulled the battery out to let it cool down and put it back. After that the battery went back to normal with only around 3% consumption overnight.
I guess this is because with a flash of a new ROM the learned parameters for the battery will be erased, too:

So the more charging/draining cycles you do this should improve again.
I've just bought my Desire and of course i cant wait to break free..
Is there potential battery performance issues if I dont charge the battery 100% when i root and flash? When playing with HTC Magic, U got serious battery drain when flashing/wiping (battery stats) if it wasnt 100% charged
I charged it fully once.
Nah. Go for it (with at least 60% battery) if you've already done a full charge/discharge cycle.
I had installed the stock android 2.3.4 by mistake and then reverted to froyo, using the method given in the forum, but have noticed battery drain quickly, it lasts only 15-16 hours on froyo,
then I installed cm7 rc v2 and the battery has been drianing even faster to last just 12 hrs at the squeez,
how do I solve my battery issue..
Download and install battery calibration from the market. You need rooted device.
1) Charge the phone to full.
2) once full charged, launch battery calibration and press calibrate.
3) Use the phone until it fully drained and shut-off. (this only a suggestion to use it one full cycle after battery calibration run).
Hi I have: HTC Wildfire with CyanogenMod 7.2.0-RC1
In about the past 2 days my battery life has dropped considerably with the phone not lasting more then 12 hours, as opposed to the previous life of 2-3 days.
I charged it too 100% last night and this morning when I checked it it was at 20%
I have not installed any new apps, my screen usually runs on low brightness and the data connection only running on 2g/Edge and I have changed no settings lately.
I tried a battery stats wipe, no change.
I remember having that problem just after I flashed a new recovery.
It was about 80% before I sleep And when I wake up I find it 55%
I installed Sympfinity kernel and it really improved battery life.
now only 10% (sometimes less) are lost through the night.
Try Sympfinity kernel.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using Tapatalk 2
I Flashed CM7.2 RC2 it seems to have fixed the problem.

I advise you to install battery calibration from play store, sometimes after flashing a new rom, battery may be miss-read
tip
the battery life is also affected depending on the time you have automatic update on your phone because if you have updated very often it spends considerably battery not in use so the phone .. hechale a look at this and help us a lot of your battery greetings
Welll i used to have a similar problem on my wildfire,so i downloaded power max and used it on standard mode and used Go power master with autoswtching and other stuff...just before exchanging it for a Nexus, i had the battery to last around 40 hours with 5 hours of browsing, 3 hours of listening to music and 2 hours of gaming with heavy use of whatsapp and texting and 30-40 minutes of calling...previously my battery use to last only 10 hours...hope this will help you...you can also go up to ebay and buy an extended battery for just Rs.960 which is 3000mah...cheaper than the original smaller battery....link to the extended battery http://www.ebay.in/itm/3000MAh-Exte...4-HTC-Wildfire-G8-/140533335447#ht_1453wt_907
I had been running rooted 4.1.2 on my sgh-i747 for a while but I decided to upgrade to 4.2.2. After I tried a few roms i settled on JellyBam. The battery life has since been horrible. I am a fairly light user, and after a full day my battery was always around 75%. After 4.2.2/JellyBam I'm lucky to see my battery above 50% at the end of the day.
The battery stats look normal, I have most of the extra battery-draining features turned off, but my battery life is still pathetic compared to 4.1.2. The battery drain was the same when I tried out the latest MIUI, but I haven't had any other roms installed long enough to test their battery life.
Any suggestions?

Flash a different kernel and check the thread of said kernel for battery saving settings. I'm on 4.3 and usually sit at around 60% after an 8 hour work day and moderate/heavy usage.
