[Q] 5x5 app drawer - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Is there a way to trigger the 4.2 launcher of Galaxy Nexus to have a 5x5 app drawer like on Nexus 4 ?

Change launcher. Nova has a 5x5 drawer option and I believe it was originally based on the stock launcher...

I'm already using Apex Launcher with 5x5 app drawer, but it sorta doesn't feel natural. I'll try Nova.

It doesn't feel natural because nexus 4 screen is wider

I'm using Apex Launcher with 5x6 (5 columns, 6 rows) grid in the app drawer and 5x5 on the homescreen and it looks fine

5x5 does look good on the homescreen. The thing is, margines in the app drawer are too big, that's why 5x5 looks unnatural in the app drawer. Hell, I could even use 6x6 on the homescreen and it would look good, cuz you can remove the margines on the homescreen completely. Wish you could do the same for the app drawer.

[Q] Strongsteve odex blue with tw launcher

I love this Strongsteve odex blue ROM and have been tweaking it for a couple of weeks.
Is it possible to keep the 5 icon dock but switch the app drawer to 4X4? The app drawer just looks a little too busy to me with a 5X5 setup.
Thank in advance to anyone who might know how to do this.
Not that I have seen. Its one or the other. Sorry.!

Thanks
The workaround I found was to use launcher pro (This preserves all of the blue icons in Strongsteves ROM) and the only difference is the app drawer scrolls vertically. But I keep the 5 icon dock and get a 4X4 app drawer.
I am happy with this workarpound. Life is good

I use launcher pro and my drawer scrolls horizontally. check your setting, i dont prefer vertical anymore lol
There is a zip linked in the original post on the ROM thread that will switch the TW back to the regular method.
That should do exactly what you need!

best launcher?

used to have GO launcher on captivate, tried apex and nova, but do not like the limited feature set, i.e. no folder creation in app drawer.
how is holo launcher? the ICS theme would work fine for me.

Nova does folders in app drawer (Nova settings, Drawer, drawer groups) - yeah, you have to pay for it, but it's worth it
BTW Go launcher works fine.
Really tried to give new TW a fair shake finally relented back to Zeam from the 'ol SlimICS on Captivate. That ROM had just changed to Lightning launcher which looked interesting and was as speedy as it's name implied. Still found myself back at Zeam there too.

touchwiz vs nova vs apex

which one would you recommend? pro and con of each?
i really like touchwiz annimation when opening up app drawer. And the touchwiz widget
i tried apex on s3 and it was smooth but it doesnt include the touchwidget widget like the calender month and the weather widget
is there a way to get the touchwiz widget on apex or nova?
Why would you want someone to ditate your life? lol

Nova and apex are almost the same but it has gesture support, wider range grid and has support for icon packs to change the looks of icons and no. No touchwiz widget on third party launchers

I used nova over stock, never used apex. However when sliding between homescreens there would ALWAYS be a lag upon the first swipe to a not yet visited screen, which bothered me a lot but eventually decided to just root and flash a cm10 based rom. Still would prefer nova over touchwiz, especially allowing the ability to modify the transition speed, makes it feel much snappier. Apex may have the same settings though.
Apex vs Touchwiz Power Consumption
From My Power Consumption statistics:
Apex Launcher
Time of display on: 20m Time of CPU in use 9s
Touchwiz home
Time of display on: 28m Time of CPU in use 4s
Apperently, Apex consumes much more battery accourding these stats.

You could get Google's calendar widget, which is as good or better than Touchwiz'. Also you could get fancy widgets for weather, or weatherbug, or accuweather.
I'm using Holo launcher by the way. I think there's not too much difference between any of them.
I use Nova, works great. Never used Apex so I cant say. Touchwiz is okay but I dont really like it.

I use Apex. I just need a grid that's at least 6 tall by 5 wide.
I tried Nova, too, and they are indeed almost the same. Nova did some things better but I switched back to Nova because of the app drawer - infinite scrolling within a tab. It was just too annoying to not have it with Nova.

Since S2 i am on apex. Never thought of looking another option .
For widgets there are alot of options in play store.
I use Xperia more smooth to me second favourite is nova consume less battery to the others

Homesceen

Could any one help me how to change my homescreen grid size ? Also the title of each app on my app drawer look alittle fading
If this is the stock launcher, you're gonna want to download apex or nova (or really any other 3rd party option).
