You don't flash the recovery by using Unrevoked, because if you even try, it would be like re-rooting, which can lead to some serious issues. You need to get into HBOOT and flash something like this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1661543
When you say the phone "turns on", does it boot into the ROM? The combination of buttons you are holding should take you to HBOOT...

found it

I found it. You have to power down and select reboot then recovery. I reflashed everything is good except I still get an error 67.

You said the error happened two days after you flashed that ROM... Do you have an unlimited data plan? Were you using the tether and/or other networking services excessively? And please expand more on "wouldn't take an update", screenshots and your current PRL/profile would be somewhat helpful.
RC1024 said:
For error 67, and this applies to most sprint phones that use Vision, Powervision, EVDO, Etc. Error 67 indicates that the username or password stored in your phone is incorrect. this condition is very rarely related to the coverage in an area, usually occurs after recent device swap, or attempting to use modem/hotspot while your account does not have a valid modem/hotspot plan.
Before going through too much effort, you should power your phone off, then back on, update your profile (this varies by model support.sprint.com has guides for most phones) and determine that the feature that you are attempting to use should work ( for example to use hotspot, you must be subscribed to hotspot. to use phone's web browser the web service should not be blocked, Etc.)

Update: Have you ever considered doing a nandroid backup, then reverting to a purely stock ROM to restore your PRL? That may very well be the answer...

now I've done it

Before I read your last post, I used titanium backup and only restored my contact list. It prompted me to reboot after the restore, so I did. Now all I have is a white screen that says htc evo 4g on it. Pulled battery two times----it cant get past evo 4g screen. Thanks for your help---any suggestions?

I'm assuming you were on an aosp ROM, coming to a sense ROM. When you restore data back (as in 4.0.4 --> 2.3.5) it causes problems.

Power off the phone, then hold the power button and the volume down button together; this should bring you to HBOOT. Once inside HBOOT, you should be able to select "Recovery" from the list of options.

4G link drops and reconnects after idling?

I have been experiencing a problem with 4G since I NAND unlocked my phone according to Toastcfh's procedure. The phone will connect to 4G and transfer data. The problem is that when data is sent after the phone has been idling, the 4G link drops and then reconnects. I've tried NAND restoring my phone to a point before the NAND unlock, but the problem persists. I did not have this problem until after NAND unlocking.
I don't know whether it is related to the above problem, but when I updated the radio to 1.39.00.05.31 after the NAND unlock, I did not see the same radio flashed correctly confirmation that I saw when I did the same update after only "half rooting" the phone. The radio update got stuck "formatting cache..." so I followed did as recommended by others and manually wiped the cache.
Does the NAND unlock process cause something to change that is not undoable? This is really screwing up my phone experience.
This is common, you need to reset your idle time via the MSL trip with the ##DATA# menu. I am at work and can't dig around in the forums but search for MSL and ##DATA# and you will find it.
Same boat here, look forward to the fix!

The only ROM/Radio combinations that I have been able to get full, stable 4g functionality (talk & Internet, stabile 4g connection ETC) has been....
1) Flash original RUU,
2) Do a Full root using Toasts steps 1&2,
3) Full wipe and flash a rooted stock Rom either 1.32.651.1 or 1.32.651.6 from FlipZ
4) Re-flashing radio 1.39.00.05.31 radio if you flash 1.32.651.6.
5) Increase the WIMAX Idle Time via
hit ##DATA# > Edit mode.
Put in your msl code
Chose WIMAX
Scroll down to Wimax_Idle_Sleep
Change the value from 10 to 300.
Click menu, commit changes and restart the phone.
I have tried most if not all of the custom ROMS using the same method and have not been able to get the same stability as I have with the rooted stock ROMS from FlipZ.

This happened to me when I deleted some widgets that Sense was using, but I was getting an HTC Sense force close. Not this. Are you rooted? If you don't know, download clockworkmod recovery for the slide and put it on the root of your SD card as update.zip and flash it via recovery. (you get to recovery through the bootloader, selecting recovery with the volume down key, and the power key to select it), and if it gives you a signature verification failure, then you are not rooted. If it succeeds, then flash CR_Mod OTA 1.35.xxx (forgot the exact number, it's in the dev section), and that should fix your problem.

Follow that guide to root your phone, and then flash this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=747002
That will give you rooted stock as well as re-update your radio, since rooting downgrades your radio image. Let me know how that all goes

Try downloading the original ESPRING and put it on root of SD card the. Update it by turning on the phone using volume down and power

Actually I revise that. It should be possible. Your phone isn't totally screwed, it boots at least. Look through the guide, I can't at the moment, and see if it actually requires your phone to be booted. I think you can do all of it through hboot and recovery, using adb and ESPRIMG.zip. I really don't remember though, read the guide, try to root your phone.

You can use ADB while in recovery mode, try doing the commands in recovery mode, using clockwork recovery. Although that may not work because it requires toggling wifi. See if you can find and try other rooting methods? There a few different ones out there. Your phone boots into the OS.
I googled around, found that account syncs were causing com.htc.bg to crash. I also noticed that your phone was booting without a sim card in it? Might be a stupid question, but you HAVE tried booting it WITH a sim card right? I also noticed that your hboot date is march 23rd, almost a year ago..?

[Q] Phone not activated after activating

Hi! I just rooted and installed CM7 (stable) onto the Incredible. I tried activating the phone via the onscreen activate button and also by dialing #228, but after it says its been "activated" and to wait for at least 15 minutes to go into effect, it still isn't activated. then when i try to use the phone it tells me something BS about connecting to an operator to make a collect call.
i THINK i need to manually program and activate the phone, but i'm not getting an clear instructions on how to do it properly. can anyone here help me with this please? thanks for your time. cheers...
I would go back to the stock Rom to activate.

Reboot the phone and try again. Press *228 on the dial pad, then option 1 to reprogram and enable 3G. Although it says it takes 15 minutes, it should work instantaneously. At least, this method worked for me. Good luck.

if i go back to the stock rom and activate it (assuming it worked), what happens when i flash CM7 back onto the phone? does it still retain its activation? or will the "activated status" go away because i wiped the data/dalvik/cache?
Activation shouldn't go away unless you deactivate the phone through verizon. I've flashed different ROMs and I don't have to reactivate my phone.
cool. i'll figure out how to revert back to stock tonight. i hope there's a "how to". thanks.
Download this:
http://dougpiston.com/files/RUU/bui...and-2.15.00.07.28-hboot-0.92.0000_PB31IMG.zip
Rename it so it's just "PB31IMG.zip" (make sure your file extensions are un-hidden, so you don't inadvertently name it to "PB31IMG.zip.zip"), and make sure your SD card is FAT32.
Now boot into HBoot, and it should detect the file automatically after a few seconds and ask if you would like to apply the update. Press Vol-Up for Yes. Let it flash.
awesome. thanks! i'll give it shot tonight when i leave work.
still no dice
well... tonight i installed the stock image. i'm still getting the "please hold while we transfer your call to an external operator" after activating (whether it be via online or *228). i noticed that there wasn't even an option to activate via on-screen after installing the stock software, with the CM7 ROM it would show an activate button after rebooting.
a few minutes ago i just reflashed S-ON and reflashed the stock image. it's still doing the same thing. something is up with the phone i guess. beyond my know-how and capabilities. the main reason i put S-ON back is so the phone can be sent back to Verizon. i'm thinking its gotta be a hardware issue if i've done everything you guys have suggested.
thanks anyways, guys. its not my phone, but a friend that i was trying to do this for. makes me glad i'm with another carrier where instead of activating, i just need my SIM card. hopefully i'll have better luck with the replacement they send.
Has he talked to Verizon about the problem? A similar thing happened to me with a phone that's ESN wasn't clear (ebay - ended up getting refunded). The phone wasn't reported lost/stolen or anything?
the hasn't been reported lost/stolen. and the phone has been with the original owner.

[Q] Volume Down + Power = no bootloading screen?

Sprint Evo 4g Supersonic will not load my boot screen. Im not sure what is going on I do know that one of my phones is stock and the other is a rooted phone. What the hell is going on. Im not a noob to root FYI. I build gaming rigs and other computer related issues I can solve fairly easy. However, this is getting under my skin because I want to UNROOT so i can activate service on the one phone and then Root it again back to where I had it. The other phone that is Stock RUU sprint is having the same issue. For the love of God I just want to be able to unlock my stock and root! Awaiting a sound answer to my question and I do hope I posted this in the right catagory of the forums because I saw nothing of this issue for Supersonic RUU EVO 4G. Thanks!
So holding power and volume down at startup doesnt bring up the bootloader screen correct?
I know this may sound obvious, but power off the phone, pull out the battery, put it back in, then try again.
Did you make sure that Fastboot was disabled in your phone's Settings? Cuz that will keep it from booting into your bootloader

You don't need to unroot to activate a phone.
Thanks for the suggestions I already had it off fastboot and I took the battery out and swapped with another one and it worked fine after. Its been a while since I messed with my phones technically.

Captain,
other then the obvious "thanks" Sprint is the one that messed my rooted phones network when changing phone numbers. if I remember correctly its stuck on "Hands Free Activation" continually having the icon circle and "contacting the network" times out and I get code 1012. I can cancel this and use the phone just no service. I went back to a stock rom to do this in order to add a line and switch numbers on both evo 4g supersonics. the rooted failed connection and sprint stock is now my phone. I am going to root this one since it has hboot 2.16 but I have to downgrade windows 8 to 7 ultimate first. NOTHING is compatible with that OS... yet anyways. I will check out your methods as well. I was looking for a forum that would be able to explaine how to activate a rooted phone. Ill get back to you if I have an issue! Thanks

I have the same problem with being unable to bring up the Bootloader Screen.
So I tried to follow your advice, but I don't see how to disable Fastboot.
I don't know how it was enabled in the first place. I certainly was smart enough to do it.
I went to 'Settings' but see nothing related to Fastboot. Where can it be found?
If this is a common problem, wouldn't it be a good idea to address it in the instructions?

Usually, it is in menu/settings/apps depending on what rom you are on.
I'm on Decks Reloaded and I think it is disabled by default, therefore, no option to enable it.

Stuck on Boot Screen CM10

Just tried to installed CM10 on my T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy II. It's been stuck at the boot animation for over 10 minutes. What can I do? My SD card bit the dust and I don't have the backup I'd made previously. I had the SD card's contents saved on my desktop but no idea where the file would be or what it's name would be for the backup I made previously.
I'm not really a n00b per say. Have flashed CM roms on other phones in the past with no issues. First time this has happened. I've tried doing a factory wipe/reset, wiping the cache and Dalvik. Multiple times. No change. Any help is much appreciated as this is my only phone.
UPDATE: Found my CMW backup files but no luck using them. CMW gives me a MD5 mismatch now. Any ideas? Where can I find a stock T-Mobile ROM of 4.1.2? (I think that was the version I had last)

UPDATE #2: So I am trying to do what's said over at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1513359 but getting stuck at Step 6/7. No matter what it seems Odin will not recognize my phone. Phone is in Download mode as it says to do but Odin never detects any phone plugged in. Any help?
Have latest Samsung drivers but it appears per Device Manager that it keeps getting stuck (the phone) at "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" error. Tried uninstalling device, uninstalling drivers, and reinstalling drivers. Same thing every time. I got ODIN to recognize the phone once but after a few minutes it came back with FAILED.
Wish I could figure this out. More frustrated that I can't get it at least back to stock than anything now.
If you have CM10 installed on your phone and if its stuck at boot screen. Do this:
1. Download darkside-cachewipe.zip from http://sourceforge.net/projects/darksidetools/files/ and copy it to your sdcard.
2. Remove the battery wait for 10 seconds
3. Insert the battery again. Holding the volume keys and power key, boot into recovery mode
4. Install zip from sdcard and run darkside-cachewipe.zip
5. Try booting the phone again.
6. This time it should boot correctly.

Well that seemed to work. I had to do a few other things but I ended up getting CM 10.1 RC5 installed and got to the homescreen. Problem I'm having now is I can't get a signal from my carrier at all. No matter where I'm at. It was connected to it at one point but now it doesn't. It's registering on the network because it says T-Mobile but no bars and no 4G indicator showing up whatsoever. Any ideas? Kind of useless at the moment with no signal.
EDIT: So from another post I have on the CM forums they said to look here in XDA for an updated radio? Any ideas? I'm not a n00b but I haven't modded a phone since my old HTC original Android phone years ago so I'm a bit rusty. My current Baseband is currently T989UVLE1.

But my wi-fi dropped out in the middle of it. How can I make it do that automatic download of my previous apps/settings again? Or can I?

Not sure if you can do that. Go to google playstore from your laptop and then install all the missing apps from the laptop. Its faster that way.
Me too am a flashoholic, so I create update.zip file from TitaniumBackup app and keep it for installing all my apps from the recovery mode.

Yeah I have Titanium Backup even got the Pro one and my SD card got wiped so it can't restore anything now. I could just find the Titanium folder on my desktop because I had made a copy of the entire SD card just prior to it getting wiped clean.
