My power volume down buttons don't work and I'm locked out of the phone. I can boot it up via USB when connected to a computer but USB debugging isn't enabled so I can't use ADB. Is there any way to wipe the phone without the power button and volume down key?
thanks.

There's a pattern lock and I don't know it or the gmail info. I need to either find a way to boot into fastboot/recovery or find a way to turn on USB debugging without getting into the phone. Unless someone has a shortcut method to just wipe the phone back to factory settings.

My friend's phone is pretty screwed. None of the buttons are working and the phone only loads into bootloader. I cant select any of the options in the bootloader because the buttons arent functioning. Is there anyway I can load it in adb and reboot it or something?
Try hooking it up to your comp. and try sdk see if it does anything.

Can anyone go more in-depth on how to use adb?
Having the same issue, not sure you can access ADB without having your phone in usb debugging I thought? I could be wrong. Does anyone know the commands that would be used with to reset the phone with ADB to stock default? I can't use the volume buttons there for when it ask me to press volume down to accept reset I can't do it. Its funny. I may just take the phone apart and see if dirt is in the way of the connection on the volume rocker.
i got one htc desire which is pattern locked and customer dont have email id and password.
so i cannot bypass it with adb command as debug mode is off and phone have official firmware. while i try adb commands in recovery mode it shows error : device offline .
adb command in fastboot mode shows error: device not found. i tried all other tricks like calling to phone and trying to get into phone but not success. what option i have left? as data is very very important.
Thanks
If the your data is on the sd card first take it out so that it doesnt get wiped. Then turn the phone off, and boot into the bootloader using volume down and power. Use the volume keys to scroll down and highlight CLEAR STORAGE, then press the power button to select it.
This should wipe the phone and reset it to factory conditions.

So after playing with my N7 all day, I decided to unlock the bootloader.
Simple task, power off, hold volume keys + power right?
Nope
Screen won't come on now, the device is just unresponsive and not detected by fastboot or adb.
I haven't done anything to this other than try to enter the bootloader the same way I have on every other Nexus device I have owned.
Any advice?

ADB won't work it it isn't booted into android. If you manage to get it booted, USB debugging on...
Adb devices
Adb reboot boot loader
Then fastboot devices
Fastboot OEM unlock
Boot first, enable USB debugging
Then again
Adb devices
Adb reboot boot loader
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.IMG
Load up recovery, factory wipe, flash SU, reboot.

YEES! i managed to connect phone to pc all i have to do was connect phone to USB 2.0,3.0 didnt recognize it
So my Note 10+ screen broke so that I can only see the top 15% and only touch the bottom 60%. I booted into TWRP to backup everything, and now I'm in a situation where I can't turn the thing off. I am unable to press the shutdown button, only the download mode and recovery mode buttons. I am also unable to press the ADB side load button to send a shutdown command. It will be quite some time before I am able to fix the screen, so I don't want the phone battery to be sitting dead and degrading for a month or more. I already tried draining the battery and then plugging it in to charge, but the phone automatically booted into TWRP.... hardware key combos only reboot, they won't shut down...
Does anybody have an idea how to power off my device? Or to reboot into system or gain ADB access without being able to use the touchscreen? Thanks for the help
TWRP should allow you to use adb commands already.
You can use fastboot continue

I am trying to use adb from another Android device to the broken device using an otg cable, but the ADB otg app does not recognize it. From my memory, when I had tried to use adb in TWRP I always had to go into advanced and press the ADB side load button, but maybe this is different with fastboot? Unfortunately I do not have access to a computer right now, or a mouse for that matter.

What are you trying to do exactly?
A bit convoluted but ...
Volume down + Power - forced reboot, right after vibration with USB cable on switch to Volume Up + Power . maybe boot to recovery !?
Odin - Set get system Info on - force reboot ?

Thanks for the recommendation, but the problem is that I am stuck in recovery mode. I am able to boot into recovery and download modes, but not into the normal system mode. If I could boot into system mode I should be able to use the lower half of the screen to shutdown the device, or use adb.

Yes, I understood that, last opcional on recovery is shutdown?
Just press up and then power?

Unless you can't boot to the default recovery? That's why I suggested Odin.
