Ok, so if we wanted the expandable storage on telus, could we import the at&t model and use them, as compatible lte ? And is it easy to import a rom from the att model to the telus model ?

Thanks guys, updated. What exactly is the "international" version?

That was partly my reason for making this thread. I'm interested in the ATT one as well. One disadvantage I've found is that the notification led (on the power button) blinks infrequently, apparently only for a second or two every 25 seconds.

i have a e971 but it isnt a rogers phone its an international version =/. But its kinda the same specs, 8mp, 25gb internal space, no sd card,

Is there really 2 versions of xperia s? (lt26i and lt26a)

In the development thread DooMLoRD mentioned that the phone comes in two versions. There seems to be confilicting info about this. I have seen sites say it is quad band HSDPA and there is not 2 different models and only the lt26i. I would like to import to the USA and use on ATT 3g. It looks like the lt26i will work on att 3g. Below is the info listed in the development section of the site.
Model number:
The Xperia S has model number as LT26 and has two models LT26i and LT26a. They differ in the spectrum of frequencies supported for 3G/WCDMA http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_xperia_s-4369.php
LT26i - HSDPA 900 / 2100
LT26a - HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100
The items passing the fcc was the LT26i and it was listed at quad band UMTS/HSDPA
https://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas...alledFromFrame=N&application_id=917709&fcc_id
It is also mentioned in this engadget article
http://www.engadget.com/2012/01/27/sony-xperia-s-jogs-past-the-fcc-carrying-plenty-of-atandt-t-mobi/
I've pre-ordered the Xperia S LT26i from here. If you scroll down a bit and switch to the specification tab you'll see this:
GSM/GPRS Yes
Frequencies 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
Speed GPRS up to 86kbps, EDGE up to 237 kbps
3G/HSPA Yes
Frequencies 850/900/1900/2100 MHz
Speed HSDPA Up to 14.4Mbps, HSUPA Up to 5.8Mbps
Click to collapse
It seems like it supports both frequencies... It'll surly work in Europe right? I live in Israel using Cellcom, I hope it'll work fine.
I am wondering the same thing too!
I live in Canada and I want to get this phone but I know Canada will be the last to get it.
Is the ' i ' version going to work for me in Canada?
Please help!
Thank you.
check the Xperia S whitepaper
http://dl-www.sonymobile.com/cws/download/1/105/035/2/1327908899/Xperia_S_WP_2.pdf
"LT26i UMTS HSPA 850 (Band V), 900 (Band VIII), 1900 (Band II),
2100 (Band I)
GSM GPRS/EDGE 850, 900, 1800, 1900"
so it's safe to say there is going to be only one version?
if so, I will order my Xperia S and start using it in Canada!!
From what I have seen for the last three months, only one version which is quad band. Today I ordered one from ebay shipping from Hong Kong and I should be receiving it next week sometimes around Thursday. I will report back once I have it.
EDIT:
for people interested, this is the place I ordered it from http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sony-Ericsson-Xperia-S-LT26i-Unlocked-12mp-32GB-Android-Phone-White?item=150770279921&cmd=ViewItem&_trksid=p5197.m185&_trkparms=algo%3DRPSI%252BSIC.NPJS%26itu%3DUCP%252BUA%252BMAGEXP%252BI%26otn%3D12%26pmod%3D190644185862%26po%3DLPV%252BLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D6745036511139896139#ht_3032wt_1396

I have ordered one from Clove in the UK. It should be shipped Mon or Tue.
I will report back once I either trim down my SIM card or buy a micro SIM.
I am on Telus now running an unlocked generic Xperia Arc.
Cheers
I can confirm it is a quad band. It supports UMTS/HSPA Bands 1/2/5/8. See screenshot from my service menu.
PS: the phone is unbelievably awesome.
I know this thread is old.. but my xperia s only gets edge internet conection..! D: No 3g at all! I'm in Bolivia btw. With "a" versions of other xperia phones I was able to get 3g internet connection.. why is this happening?
The 'a' and the'i' signify different versions of Baseband. The baseband determines which 3g network you connect to ! Make sure you pick up the right instrument otherwise you wont be able to connect to 3G. Google "3G baseband" + your Country and then see which model, the a or the i supports that baseband Wrong baseband => No 3g

AT&T Galaxy Note II only Tri-Band 3G?! No FM Radio?!

So AT&T's website finally has the Note II listed, I noticed it only lists it having Tri-Band 3G (850/1900/2100 MHz) as well as the FM Radio not being listed as a feature. You guys think this is just AT&T software disabling the extra band and the radio or what? I'm kind of disappointed as I was hoping AT&T wouldn't be gimping the Note this time around...
It lists LTE right at the top of the specs.

Guys what I'm saying is that the AT&T Note II doesn't support Quad-Band 3G like the international does. I thought they were all supposed to be the same across carriers.

The N7105 does have LTE, but it doesnt support AT&T bands. The N7100 does not have LTE. Both versions are international.
So you were correct in thinking - don't feel stupid
There are 4 versions of Note:
1. International (+LTE): SGH-7100 / SGH -7105
2. SGH-i317 : ATT+(Rogers+Bell + Telus): HSPA 850/900/1900/2100, LTE: 700/850/1700/1900
3. SCH-i605 : CDMA + LTE 700
4. SGH-T889 : T-Mobile+Mobilicity+Wind : HSPA: 850/900/1700/1900/2100, LTE: 700, 1700
These are from FCC filings
EDIT: I posted about it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1956264
T-Mobile's variant seems to be the better choice even if you are on AT&T based on the FCC filings anyway

Some info in this thread is just plain contradiction. For example, the above two quoted posts contradict to each other. Is AT&T tri-band or quad-band UMTS after all?
It comes down to what to believe, because FCC filings contradicts to what people say and what cellphone website says. For example, phonearena lists the band specs of i-317 as this:
GSM 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz / UMTS 850, 1900, 2100 MHz / LTE 700 MHz Class 17, 1700/2100 MHz
Here, i-317 is quad-band GSM and tri-band 3G (not what FCC filing says).
Also, the website lists T889 as this:
GSM 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz / UMTS 850, 1700/2100, 2100 MHz / NO LTE
Here, T889 has 3G 850, AWS, 2100, which also is not what FCC filing says, besides there is no LTE support.
Some information here has got to be misinformation, but which one is it?

I agree on the contradiction for sure, what FCC tested vs what is being listed are different. The OP I had had the links to the FCC filings as well but I guess they we against the rules because mods removed the links.
Ye I wasn't giving doubt on the credibility of your source. It's just that i'm kind of confused by all kinds of information. Both phonearena and pdadb (checked just now) shows that T889 has no LTE support and even more interesting, pdadb lists i317 as quad-band UMTS, which phonearena lists as tri-band... I know it sounds like a nerd but it's driving me crazy as I'm doing research and decide on which version to get LOL
For now, I guess I'll only need to know if it's ever possible to flash N7100 rom onto i317 or T889, if not, i'm giving up LTE and stay with faster/earlier European OTA updates, like *DBT* :good:

[Q] S4 Pro radio modding?

Hi all-
just received my E970 yesterday, got it unlocked but still stock otherwise running on Rogers in Canada.
I've been reading a few threads here so far regarding rooting and the locked bootloader and some people seem to be implying that the S4 Pro chipset is an entirely software LTE radio. Does this mean that flashing a new firmware could change the LTE bands that a given phone supports?
ie: the AT&T E970 supports AWS 1700/2100 (Band 4) and 700mhz (Band 17) out of the box. Could this theoretically be loaded with software from the Rogers E971 with 2600mhz (Band 7) or the DoCoMo L-01E 2100mhz (Band 1) support? Obviously this would be baseband software not just a new OS ROM, but is it possible with the hardware or is this a non-editable function?
If anyone can provide insight or software I would be interested to test- as I am lacking the *special* 2600mhz support of the E971 here, and I do travel to HK and Japan occasionally, so support for 1800, 2100 and 2600mhz bands would be great, turning the Optimus G into a real worldphone even on LTE.

Thanks for the attitude.
I didn't say I expected to do this today, jackass. I asked if this will be technically possible as the models released appear to all have the same hardware specifications. Hopefully someone less smug, with more knowledge could provide real insight?
Sorry, should I be asking less technical, more brutally-important questions like when will Nova Launcher, or a different colour skin be available?

6502,6503,6506 Differences?

Besides from Zone related releases, What are the differences on F/W?
I saw that roms and F/w are model depend on the model? And you cannot flash roms for 6503 for 6502 ?
My phone is a 6502 so just want to make sure!
The only thing that I know is c6503 and c6506 works on 4G networks LTE
But c6502 is not a 4G compatible...
I know also that c6506 is much more expensive and not available widely in every country... But why? We will see other's response
Sent from my C6502 using xda app-developers app
There's two differences between the C6502, C6503, and C6506. What network frequencies they support is the main difference, with the second difference being that the C6502 has a barometer and the C6503 and C6506 don't.
C6502: UMTS HSPA+ 850 (Band V), 900 (Band VIII), 1700 (Band IV),
1900 (Band II), 2100 (Band I)
GSM GPRS/EDGE 850, 900, 1800, 1900
C6503: UMTS HSPA+ 850 (Band V), 900 (Band VIII), 2100 (Band I)
GSM GPRS/EDGE 850, 900, 1800, 1900
LTE Band I, Band III, Band V, Band VII, Band VIII and Band XX
C6506: UMTS HSPA+ 850 (Band V), 900 (Band VIII), 1700 (Band IV),
1900 (Band II), 2100 (Band I)
GSM GPRS/EDGE 850, 900, 1800, 1900
LTE Band I, Band II, Band IV, Band V and Band XVII
In terms of price, the C6506 is about the same as the C6503 in america, whereas the C6502 is about $50 cheaper, the reason being that the other two have LTE, which presumably costs more to implement what with licensing fees and whatnot.
Now, the main reason you can't flash C650* specific firmware is because, as far as I know, each phone has a different chip for network radios, plus the C6502 has a barometer.
I am currently using the latest firmware 10.3.1.A.0.244 that I downloaded from cad yesterday which was c6503 specific and flashed it on my c6502. Everything works like a charm

I have also attached the snapshot of the Xperia ZL India Website. Here is the snip.

You need to learn to read the fine print my friend, or else life will bite you in the ass over and over and over...
Here's the networks listed on the site:
Networks
UMTS HSPA+ (Bands 1, 5, 8 or bands 1, 2, 4, 5, 8) * < --- Notice the asterisk
GSM GPRS/EDGE 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz

Here is the fine print located DIRECTLY under the network info:

It's not very obvious, but thats the whole point of fine print.
6506 to 6503
I have a 6506 model that I bought in Canada, but I live in Brazil now.
What I want to know is:
- It's possible to use the 6503 firmware to have the 2600Mhz frequency?
Or this is something in the hardware?

I agree. C6502 Doesn't have a Barometer.
Query on Sonymobile Forum support says it was a mistake in printing:
http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z-ZL-ZR/Xperia-zl-No-pressure-sensor/td-p/313008
It was in white papers C6502, by pressure sensor i mean barometer. Its even listed in all major shoppin sites as well as sites like gsmarena.
Reply:
Ah, I understand. Unfortunately there was a mistake in the White Paper for Xperia ZL. It doesn't have a pressure sensor/barometer. The information should be updated in the WP soon.

I can agree with this too, it doesn't have a barometer

There's two differences between the C6502, C6503, and C6506. What network frequencies they support is the main difference, with the second difference being that the C6502 has a barometer and the C6503 and C6506 don't.
Now, the main reason you can't flash C650* specific firmware is because, as far as I know, each phone has a different chip for network radios, plus the C6502 has a barometer.

Old, old post. I was looking for the bands for every ZL and found this post. Caught my eye that you say C6502 has a barometer. I have a C6502, and it does not have one. I have checked several sites that list C6502 with a barometer, but in fact, it does not have it. Or maybe all this time I had it and I don't where it is!!!!
Found out, I already posted saying the same thing! please delete this post?

Difference models?

Can someone tell us the difference between all Nokia 6 2018 models please?
TA-1068
TA-1045
etc...
Is there a specific model for 'Worldwide' like Nexus/Pixel?
Is there a Europe version?
...
...
THANKS!
Very interested in the subject.. Also, if information is available, What models are being sold in what markets...
1045 is the US model.
I'm using one now, I got from eBay. Works great on Cricket, ya know other than it being Cricket. Lol
I know but what's the differences?
I got the TA-1043 model. Ordered it from Bol in the Netherlands and live in Belgium.
What, are, the differences?
nobody knows... it's like the cloud )
Normally it has to do with the modem, bundled apps and charger wall socket type...
Does the US TA-1045 model really have 4GB of ram? Or is it a typo and it has 3GB?
A different wall charger has never changed the model name lol!
The goal of this topic is if some people KNOW the differences between models, not telling what model you have lol
All I know is that I have a TA-1050 model here in the UK and it is perilously close to being 3 months behind with security updates and is still on 8.0 - SIM free and not tied to any carrier.
So much for Android One.
I bought the Chinese version which comes with 4GB Ram and 64GB Memory (TA-1054) .
Sadly i figured out, that the Chinse Version isn't part of the Android One Program.
It seems like a Nokia specialized playstore Custom Rom.
Further im missing the "ZEISS" Brand, which could mean, the Lense was produced by someone else.
But that's just a guess.
Edit: I just realized, that the Display comes with just 320ppi instead of 403ppi
I just got my TA-1045 from walmart. Despite the website saying 4GB, the box itself says 3/32. In settings, it says total memory is 2.9GB.
I just chatted with a support guy from NOKIA, asking for the codes of the non-Chinese (international?) versions. He provided me with the following codes:
Single SIM models:
TA-1016, TA-1050
Dual SIM models:
TA-1043, TA-1045, TA-1068,TA-1089

so the question is, what are the differences between TA-1043, TA-1045, TA-1068,TA-1089...
I saw in ebay and amazon the Nokia 6.1 TA-1068 4GB/64 who sold from US, But with headline :Inertational Stock No Warranty" so maybe the 4GB RAM Dual SIM Inernational / Europ Model is TA-1068.
The bands, by amazon, are:
3G WCDMA B1 / B2 / B5 / B8 ; 4G LTE B1 / B3 / B4 / B5 / B7 / B8 / B20 / B28 / B34 / B38 / B39 / B40 / B41
Is possible now to pre-order the 3GB from B&H but without model name, with this specs:
GSM 2G GSM: 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz
GSM 3G/3.5G UMTS: 850, 900, 1700, 1900, 2100 MHz
4G LTE LTE: 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 12, 17, 20, 28, 38 Bands
OK thanks.
OMG why so many models Nokia lol

It' not true, it has the same ppi (401). the only things that change between ta-1054 and others are the android 7.1.1 and frequency bands.
edit: ta-1054 hasn't zeiss lens
Check on Kimovil, i can't post links now
