All u do for 1 I used is download files and do instructions no need to unlock boot loader or any think like that

using a unsupported tool like Odin could get you in trouble and with no chance for official support from Google nor Samsung. I suggest you use fastboot.

Also with factory images provided by google you just need to set up adb & fastboot and execute the .bat script.
its easier than using odin like bk201doesnotexist said.

Question about GNex Toolkit....

Hi. Right now my phone is rooted but with stock 4.0.2 and I want to put it like out of the box stock and unrooted. Can I do this with the toolkit? Do I need to download the 4.0.2 version from Google?
What do I need to do?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
You can do it with the toolkit or with Fastboot, your choice.
Download the images from Google and use either method.
Could I download the 4.0.4 image instead and use toolkit to flash it?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
Yes you can.

I have the 5.1 version of the toolkit. Does it matter or should I download the latest version?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
Yeah, take the latest version because it supports 4.0.4

you'd be better off using fastboot to flash the images... you wouldnt have to keep up with versions

Absolutely true... But it's ok to start with the tool IMHO, just start learning and try to find an answer to your questions and a solution to your problems yourself first before asking and you will learn...

Updating Wind Mobile Galaxy Nexus

Can someone show me how to manually update my Wind MObile Galaxy nexus (which is stuck on 4.0.1) to 4.0.4 manually; unrooted and locked phone
and intend to keep it that way
Thanks
Set up your drivers.
Download the stock images from here: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#yakju
Unlock bootloader (wipes your device, backup first if you need to).
Flash them (guides all over here).
More info in here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1529058 if you need help with setting up ADB/drivers or the commands to unlock/flash.
Here's another good guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626895

[Q] Stuck in Google reboot boot loop on a Galaxy Nexus w/a Mac

I followed instructions on this site from another user on how to unlock and root my Verizon Galaxy Nexus. Unlocking was a success... as was Rooting. I continued to try to install Android 4.1 and my phone has been stuck in boot loop on the "Google" screen since 5 this afternoon. So no JellyBean and no phone. hahahaha... great.. help?
Can you get to your recovery
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
yes.
Then just go restore your backup and start over with fresh downloads
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Restore your backup. Or failing that, you may need to reflash 4.0 in the fastboot screen.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
I tried that and all I get is "Couldn't open directly" "no files found"
how do I reflash it? do I need to find 4.0 to download?
The easiest thing to do would be just downloaded the one nexus toolkit and use it to flash back to stock and then start over
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
shouldn't that all be in the toro file I downloaded?
Ya if you have a rom on there to flash other than jb use that but if not us this to get back to base

I would say look for a flash able stock 4.1.1 rom download it to your phone flash it and then u can relock the boot loader with an app. I forget what its called but saw it here or u can use terminal emulator. And there stock rom. Send it back. Problem solved.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Bootloader lock can be achieved by segv11's bootunlockr. Im thinking something like flashable rom 4.0.4 to 4.1.1 stock and odexed, then root without cwm via adbwireless and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1894717&highlight=root+without+unlock, bootlock via terminal emulator (preferred) or bootunlockr, use a file explorer like es to remove root.apk and su binary. I say preferred terminal emulator because im not sure how boot lock with bootunlockr would work once root has been removed. Just some ideas, would like to know how this works out for ya.
Are you sure the usb is gone? It'd be so much easier..
