I know there is a thread with the stock ROM images that can be flashed through ODIN, but are there any available that can be flashed from CWM?
Don't want to back up all that stuff.
just looking for the stock rom with the samsung features, debloated.
Thanks in advance for anyone's help

By device memory you mean internal storage I assume? I don't believe it does but you will have to buy the pro version to get the ability to flash md5. If you read Google plays mobile odin pro it will give you a good description of what it can do.

Depending on the ROM you are currently running, you may need to do a factory reset, even if you use a stock ROM

i am currently on CM10 nightlies from 11/07. i dont mind re-syncing to get my contacts, etc from my google account, but actual files (like pics, music) on the internal storage is what i am hoping to keep

First off, I take no credit for this, Credit goes to TEAM AOKP, Kbizzle , T.C.P., Sbrissen, Marcusant, and anyone else involved in the AOKP port to Epic 4G Touch. Vandam500 for quick easy guide for CM9. Bubby323 for CM7. (Anyone I missed, I am sorry, let me know I will put you up asap) Also thanks to SFHub for helping get the USCC variant rooted.
I, NOR ANYONE INVOLVED WITH THIS ROM ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR PHONE! FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK, YOU MAY BRICK AND IT IS NOT MY FAULT. THROW IT IN THE TOLIET AND INSURANCE THAT THING. Read it all, be sure you know what you are doing before you get an expensive paper weight.
I did nothing to this rom but a few edits for USCC. Made changes for APN’s, build.prop. and eri.xml to show USCC.
Download USCC AOKP rom http://dl.dropbox.com/u/44439007/AO...m.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1514665.
Download CM7 from http://forums.acsyndicate.net/showthread.php?3372-ROM-UNOFFICIAL-Cyanogenmod-7-2-Alpha-6-(1-15-2012.
Put all this on your internal sd card. For simplicity sake I make a folder called roms and then /cm7 and /aokp inside and put the appropriate files there to avoid confusion.
Recommended install
From stock flash(odin) rooted FB14 kernel from here http://dl.dropbox.com/u/44439007/FB14_CWM_Sickin.tar
wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, and wipe dalvik
install cm7 (no need to install gapps) REBOOT
after boot reboot into cwm
flash AOKP_build28_uscc.zip and then gapps for ics
wipe data/factory reset
reboot
enjoy
*NOTE* You will not have CWM after flashing AOKP. To get back I ODIN EB30 kernel, boot into CWM, and restored back up made earlier.
Also there are still options for 4G, I do not know much about editing them and will worry about them later, for now just ignore them.
Be sure to thank and show your appreciation to everyone involved.
Sickin,
If you can, make sure to post how to put CWM on the phone, I have all the files downloaded, just waiting on getting CWM.
Flash the EB30 clockwork kernel from here http://goo-inside.me/stock/epic4gtouch/kernel/acs-eb30-clockwork-epic-touch-4g-sep-20-4-00-pm.tar
that will give you cwm and you can go from there. Didn't realize the kernel flashed on SFHub's updated version didn't have cwm. Use odin to flash the kernel and go from there, that should take care of it.
EDIT: Sorry should have specified that you need to go back to either the EB30 or the EK02 kernel from SFHub's method, do not flash the stock kernel back or you lose CWM.
nice job but u don't really need cm7 or gapps just flash acs el29 kernel and use calks format all then install from and gapps, avoid all the extra steps.

There is nothing for the USCC edition other then the stock kernel so far, but we have found a few kernels that work with out problem so far. The FC05 kernel in AOKP seems to work fine.

No, nothing is changed except a few things for the us cellular version of the phone, everything about the rom is basically the same.
so, why would you put this in a Sprint e4gt forum?
There's no uscellular fourm yet... And it's basically same thing a epic 4g touch

Thanks for doing this Sickin, just a quick note that SD Card is not recognized. From what I researched, the AOKP for the E4GT is the same.
U tried going to storage and mounting it?
USCC SGS2
There's no option for it on the AOKP ROM unless me and another person did something wrong but I followed the directions to a T, Even wrote them down and checked off each task
So after trying to root with Odin 1.85 several times, it worked. Then after I tried overclocking it with persues kernal. Flash it and set auto boot on, and now, it won't even boot. I see a battery logo with a refresh symbol and then it shuts down. Or I see 'Samsung' for a second and then it just turns off.. Any ideas?
EDIT: Mod, please move this thread to Q/A, seems I posted in General. Also, found out I can boot into download mode.
Flash a new kernel through Odin in download mode. Boot into recovery, factory reset/data wipe.

A new kernel has to be stock or any? The stock kernels take WAY too long on hotfile.. 51 mins and remaining. Also, how would I do it through odin? It's a zip file, do I extract? Sorry, kinda new.

glad everything is fixed now. But in the future, to flash a kernel that's in a zip file just extract the zImage file and place in the PDA slot on Odin.

I would try recovery first, if the problem was unstable overclocking recovery mode would still work as these settings aren't applied until the app controlling them loads in the OS.
True, the only thing I was thinking is if it won't boot he might have bricked it.

I had tried that and it didn't work. Then after an hour, I stumbled across voodoo rootkeeper and it worked.
Also, no reason to be a smartass. I searched for a while til I figured it out.
I used the galaxys3root.com method. Very fast and easy, used Odin to flash CWM and then flash SuperUser.

I have same baseband and used Mr Robinson's. No problem. You should probably follow directions in his op, you shouldn't have any problems unless you did something.wrong.
Not trying to be a smartass just trying to get people to think for themselves. This forum is cluttered with these type of threads. Just take a look around believe me there is most likely 10 threads already posted for any problem you could have.

There is so much info on this thread my head is spinning. Just got an Galaxy S3 for Sprint via amazon.
After rooting I'm getting the acore and media issue popups so I need to reflash the original firmware so I can start over. I can't find it on the samsung site.
I was using the mrrobinson method. Does anyone have a link to the original Samsung firmware to I can put it on my phone via Odin?
I'm sure this info is elsewhere on here but my head is spinning right now. Any help would be appreciated.

There have been many issues with the Toolkit previously linked. I used it back in December to root my phone, but a lot has changed since then and JB in general made it much less stable. I used to recommend it to people, but now I always point people to the Rooting Guide. If you want to start completely from scratch, I'd recommend using the stock TAR file from Sextape's forum. All you have to do is flash it from Odin. Sextape has instructions in their thread. The one you'll most-likely want to download is the "Restore Rooted" version, which I have quoted below:

Personally, I use (and recommend) TWRP. You can install it once you have root through the goo.im app, GooManager (under menu -> install openrecovery script).
If you really want CWM, I believe you can install it through Rom Manager (obviously this requires root access as well).

Ok so this is my first post but have been lurking around these parts for years, and am no stranger to Rooting phones or flashing ROMs and Kernels. Can't post directly to the Wicked Sensations thread so I'm hoping to get some advice 'cause I'm stumped...
I've been running Wicked Sensations ROM MD4 V5.0 for months and decided to Check out the new TW4.3 MK3 Version.
Followed directions... backed up onto my external SD..... did a full wipe (System, Data, Dalvik, Cache)....and flashed WickedSensations_MK3_BETA_v.01.zip.
Everything appeared smooth.... rebooted system....and then,,,,,,
Phone boot loops between the Samsung splash and Galaxy Siii screens.
I'm able to get into recovery...TWRP 2.6.3.0... tried to restore my backup however the same bootloop scenario plays out.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

you might try to forgot the network (press and hold on the name, then select forget) and then connect to it again.
Did you check your md5 on your download to make sure you didn't get a bad download of mk3 Rom?
Yeah turns out it was a bad download of the WS MK3 Rom from the other morning that set problems off. After a few tedious hours flashing kernels and modems and some trial and error I was able to stabilize and back up a full working nandroid of the MD4 setup.
Flashed Wicked SensTW4.3 MK3 with Decimalmans TW kernel yesterday and I'm really feeling it... super stable for a 1st Beta release. Barring a cpl random app fc's and the fact I can't seem to figure out how to install a wallpaper onto the lockscreen.. it's badass. MAD props to Dazed and Team Wicked on the ROM.. it far exceeds my expectations and am fired up to see where it progresses from here. Thanks for your hard work and efforts to impress us....
