I bought a Samsung Galaxy Note with Bell today. I am a noob when it comes to Odin and everything but used it for my Galaxy SII without any issues to continually switch back and forth with firmwares etc.
So I found a root for my Galaxy Note i717 that said it was compatible with Bell. I downloaded the file, which was a large .tar file, and after rooting my phone I am stuck with AT&T now!! The phone boots with AT&T, has all their apps and everything. As a noob, and a lot of you will probably laugh, can I even use my phone now or it will be charged international roaming? It recognizes my Bell sim.
I really want to switch back to the original Bell firmware and everything, can someone please help me. I literally have had this phone for 2 hours and it is already like this. I really appreciate it, and hope this is in the right part of the forum. Thank you so much. God bless.
OK my sister in law and her fiance bought gs3s yesterday from att here in Louisiana USA.
One is i-747 and one is i-747m, now I did some research and figured out the "M" is the Canadian version per say.
Now they are letting me go flash happy with them I've found ROMs and rooting etc but I've seen issues with modems and etc maybe....
But since they are for sure USA phones does it really matter on what I flash? Or do I have to make sure the "M" gets special attention?
Sorry for the longevity of this just trying to be precise for its not my personal phones lol

I'm in Canada so I have the i747m and I've flashed AT&T Roms with no problems. When I do flash AT&T Roms though my phone becomes branded as an AT&T model(i747) but other than that nothing changes. As always make a backup and happy flashing.

im also in Canada and i have the i747m. The AT&T Roms work fine.
Thank y'all, I was pretty sure it wouldn't be a big deal, but again not my personal phones so I wanted a triple reassurance

Hi Hercules users, i recently got a Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE Skyrocket and flashing many roms on it for 3 month and everything work except the baseband. I start to be suspicious about my phone and thinking it might be a Hercules. I saw somewhere in the Q/A of Hercule or Skyrocket that the roms are compatible with each other. I don't remember too much the wallpaper of Jellybean back the day i got it but i think it was a blue default wallpaper and not a purple one. I flashed many baseband to it (mostly roger for skyrocket) and i never got the sims card of a "grampa low end" samsung device working. The original owner said it was from Fido in Canada. In last january, i saw than Fido was affiliate to Rogers so i assumed it was Skyrocket. Is there any method to know on a canadian S2 LTE which model it is when the rom's not stock ? Thank. PS : It only said Samsung on the front.
Sorry if i post this topic in the wrong forum but i guess any forum between hercules or skyrocket should be fine.
Edit : Seem i got my answer with the serial number under the battery, sorry for the useless topic now. It was really a Skyrocket...
I need some help in understanding this Samsung galaxy note 2
I have been reading all that I can about my new phone a Samsung galaxy note 2 SGH-i317
from what I can tell from my lack of phone Geekizum there is two models a 7000 and 7005??
7000 is European 3g?? and the 7005 4g is USA?? then there are the sprint, Verizon , AT&T, and T-mobile fall under the 4g USA model??
my question is are all the phones from the USA Big four the same phone with different brands on them or are they made differently for each
company?? if not then why are some custom roms made for different phones i.e., sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile
Question if I have rooted my phone and have a custom recovery install can I install any rom?? or go from 4.1.2 to say 4.4???
the unlocked phone Fry's sold me ended up to be a AT&T phone but my carrier is T-Mobile so I wish to be able to find and use the t mobile hot spots but they are not on this AT&T phone
I have downloaded these roms the 1- Jedi X20,2- CleanROM ACE 5.0, and JellyBam v9.00
I have noticed the this site has banned the JellyBAM rom???
so if there is a better rom the jedi x20 and cleanroom ace v5 can someone point me that way Please??
but overall what are the differences between the phone if any and why????

I'm not very active here but I believe all of your questions can be answered within existing threads and/or a few Google searches. You probably haven't gotten a response because of that. There are even forums for each model of the phone.
I bet if you do a bit of research and come back with a more specific question that is posted within a related thread, you will see a response.
The folks here are really helpful but it's a lot to ask them to rewrite/repost information that is already posted and can easily be found.

It may be the structure of your post. No one knows where to start.
If maybe you'd thrown a couple of questions out, you would have gotten answers. I read it three times and it's still WTF.
And the post above mine is correct. Goggling for the phone differences on your own, eliminates cluttering up the forum with answers you could have already found, and may already have.
Basically the N7100 and N7105 are the international versions of the Note 2. Each carrier, Sprint, TMO, Verizon, ATT has their own version of the software basically to load all their own crapware on it.
So there are different versions of ROMS supporting those carriers, with radio files to support their networks.
