Basically I modded my phone and used CM9 for my R800i I wanted to go back to 2.3.3 gingerbread because CM9 was playing up WI-FI kept messing up saying avoided poor internet connection, kept being really slow etc.. I got the official FTF file and flashed it with Flash tool which bricked my phone, I found a thread on here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056094 This thread was from 2011 and like and idiot I didn't read the whole thing before trying it.) which helped me un-brick my play but bricked the sim lock so I can't use my phone any more . Is there a fix for this now?
still no luck been flashing with custom and stock roms anyone know what to do?
In the wifi settings you could have turned off avoiding low connections.

Hello XDA folks... I've got a Sprint Epic 4G touch that I've just started modding and have run into a problem with my wifi- it connects for about a minute, disconnects, and continues this pattern ad nauseum. It started when I flashed a rooted FF18 I found here on the forums and is still present with the Blu Kuban ROM I have now (which near perfect great otherwise). I've poked around the forums and think maybe a new modem would fix it, but I have no idea which one to choose or how to install. Anyone that can get me back on track will earn a free round of drinks... only condition is they must be on Oahu. Thanks n advance for your support.

yes you can improve wifi signal by flashing a new radio/ modem firmware for this find a custom rom for your phone extract radio firmware from archive and flash it by Odin take a look here
also do a nandroid backup before: if you flash a radio firmware that's good for your phone but is locked to a specific network ..now you can restore to previous status
ok guys i have a problem with my wifes phone... she let the battery die about a week ago and ever since then she cannot get her wifi to work on her phone... idk bout the reg cause we had to "downgrade" for a few months. but was thinkin about gettin data back on them and her phone wont work... cant sync, get on the net, market, nothing! i have rooted installed every rom that i have installed on mine and her net still dont work! any ideas wat could be wrong?
oh and the phone was on stock 2.3.6 cause i never got around to updating to 4.0
trying to research... any suggestion would be helpful
just looked in the hidden info menu nd her phone can't pass the "http client test"... if that helps
anyone?
Why not root it and install cm10 or PACman ROMs...both are still work in progress and like 96% done...they are definitely DD's in my opinion...or upgrade to the ICS?
Have you tries a factory reset? I am pretty sure it will delete everything on the phone but might get the WiFi back up and running?

Hey everyone,
Well here is my story
I am using the new ota boot.img (CDMA, VM) , and was using CM9-KangBang v3.0 as my Rom, it decided not to send a message so i put it on airplane mode and it froze, so i decided to turn it on and off, and on turning it back on, it had no service what so ever. I've tried flashing other ota roms with there respective boot.imgs but i still have no service, i dont know what to do anymore..
Any help would be really appreciated, thank you

Why are you flashing GSM ROMs when your device is CDMA. CM9 KangBang is not for our device. Go to the CDMA thread and try Rhythmic ROM and see if that works. Or else you'll have to RUU back to stock.

I've got a lot of problems actually. I have a Virgin Mobile Galaxy S3 (SPH-L710) with 4.4.2 that I rooted yesterday, but I didn't back up the stock ROM before trying to flash Cyanogenmod. I lost data, eventually I lost wifi, and then I think I bricked it trying to flash various things to fix it. I then tried to flash stock firmware but ended up with a phone that thinks it's on the Sprint network (still no mobile data). I haven't had any luck trying to find stock ROMs and kernels for Virgin Mobile (assuming that's what I need to fix it?). I'd like to be able to go back to the out-of-the-box unrooted ROM until I can do more research.
I'm completely new to the entire process and clearly got in over my head. I hope you guys can point me in the right direction.
Sir,
Please wait until mods will move this thread to the device specific forum.

So I think my problem is resolved. I used Kies to update the firmware, which seemed to successfully return the phone to unrooted stock. I reactivated my network via the VM website. I can send and receive calls and texts. The only thing is that I don't see the VM logo screen at startup. Should I be worried?
If everything is working as it should then no worries about a missing splash screen... Sounds like you're good to go
