I'm coming from HTC and normally to set a password, pin or pattern Lock you just go to the security section in the settings, but when I go to that section on my OG I can't find any option for this only something to encrypt the phone? Can someone tell me how to set up the screen lock?

"password unlock" window after unlocking?? screenshot, plz help me remove this
Hi guys,
I have a funny problem, I've installed lockbot and some other lock-apps as test but removed all of them except lockbot
Now when I disable lockbot I have my normal lockscreen (power button + wipe down to unlock) but now I get an extra screen where I have to enter an unlock code (which seems to be my pin code) or emergency call
I can't find back in the settings how to disable this, anybody any idea?
PS I have stock ROM with launcherpro installed
Thx

Remove it and install No Lock. Or SwitchPro Widget.
well I love lockbot except that it unlocks when receiving a call so I just want to return to my default way of unlocking (power-button + slide-down) without having to enter my pin code again
this is how it looks like, I have no idea where this is coming from
anybody any ideas what this might be?
Anyone please? I would really like to get rid of this....

Are you syncing with an Exchange server?
I've had that dialogue box when I set up my Exchange mail.
Look here (translated from Swedish)
Settings -> Security -> Set screen lock
or something similar.

yep, I use Touchdown... however I used this on my HTC Magic as well and I never had the issue on that phone. I also have a seperate window for a pincode in Touchdown itself. Also when I disable the lock completely using switchpro I don't get this message anymore. If this is coming from exchange, I should probably still get the mentionned window... anyway I can try to uninstall just to test.

don't have that... I can only
- set a pattern-lock (which doesn't work, I just get the window mentionned, when I enter my code it goes straight to my homescreen)
- enable/disable PIN code (when disabled I still get the mentionned window)
- enable visible passwords
- install certificates from sd-card
just uninstalled touchdown... no change, lockscreen remains...
anyone?

The lock is requested by the security settings within Exchange. I would suggest removing you mail account from the phone to check, unless you have access to the Exchange server or a friendly Exhcange Admin.
I've uninstalled touchdown completely but lock screen remained..

Have you tried to disable the other lock options? Go through them one by one and enable and disable them. Maybe reboot first/after.

in security settings I only have

- enable/disable PIN code (when disabled I still get the mentionned window)
furthermore I've uninstalled all lock-screen apps and touchdown (exchange) but that cr*ppy screen remains active
coming close to giving it up though think I'll just stick to lockbot or widgetlocker and buying a decent pouch
ehm... something I just found by accident: it doesn't matter what I enter in that lock window, it always unlocks (except when leaving blanc) !!
try this
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/lockpicker-now-updated-to-v0-94/
Hi,
tried that already (forgot to mention it)
never mind guys, Widgetlocker seems to be what I'm looking in a lockscreen and it seems stable so I'll stick to that
thanks for all the tips and hints... sometimes it's just not ment to be
cheers

I have forgot my PIN while configuring Exchange, please help.
I trying to change it, not yet locked the phone.
Sorry initially posted in wrong section.
Finally found it, since I did not locked the phone after setting up Exchange mail, I was searching here and there.
Checked in "Show Me" section - it is mentioned after five attempts, it will ask to wait for 30 seconds to retry and then Screen will go off, if you turn on; you can select "Forgot Password".
There you can provide your Google Account username & password.
Then it will ask for resetting the PIN to any type.
This is so cool.
I made the the mistake of activating the lockscreen password feature of my Galaxy Note 2 and now I can't seem to deactivate the feature. When trying to turn off screen lock password/pattern, all options (Swype, motion, face unlock, face and voice, None) are disbled (greyed out) but the only active options are Pattern, Pin and Password. The grayed out options are written "disabled by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage"
Anyone know why its like this? How to go around this problem? By the way, I am using all stock.

You sure either using a VPN or exchange email with high security settings. Get rid of that and you'll be able to remove lock pattern

Hello I just got a LG G3 and was exploring the unbelievable amount of settings and customization abilities. I had a knock code on but then decided to try the pattern lock. When I went to try the facial recognition the option was greyed out and I couldn't select it. I then noticed I couldn't use the knock code or turn it off for that matter. Is there a setting I turned on that would disallow the use of these lock types?
Me to
The same thing happened to me. I had my lockscreen to patern and now I can't enable the knock code anymore. Have you already found a solution?
Sounds like it could be a security setting that disallows the use of certain screen unlock methods. I can't check this as I'm not on stock LG though. If you changed any other settings, change them back.
Same here, on both my LGs ( G2 and L Bello) , one is rooted (G2) the other (Bello) not ...
I only can lock screen with pattern, pin or password... Unable to access other methods as they are greyed. I don't known when this happen?
I had remove my self signed certificates, disabled the developper options etc ... nothing...
Strange behavior ?
Can you clear credentials?
Option becomes grey when its disabled by administrator. Clearing credentials should solve it.

You are right! After clearing all credentials , it works again... Thank you very much!
Something strange: after added one certificat, some lockscreen methods are disabled, this is ok, but if I delete this certificat, lockscreen methods stay disabled? I must 'clear all credentials' to enabled it again.
Anyway it works, thank you again.
[EDIT] Hum... on the L Bello, add a self signed certificat in the credentials disable the knock code lockscreen method even it is still active.
And on the LG G2 it's not possible to use the face unlock method with self signed certificat in credentials.
The Note 5 has an option to password-protect the factory-reset process. That way, you can prevent a thief from resetting your phone and setting it up for their own use.
There's also an option to automatically factory-reset the phone if someone enters the wrong lockscreen password 15 times in a row. That helps prevent a thief from guessing your password.
If both options are enabled, which one wins?
This is the way I see it.
If the thief gets to the point where he/she can reset the phone and set it for own use, even he/she knew the password to unlock the screen, guessed it or the screen was not password locked. If this is the case, option #1 wins.
If the phone is password locked then option #1 is less probable to win unless the thief guesses the password. If that is the case (guessing the password) then option #2 is not worth it. But if the password is not guessed, then option #2 wins.
In either case, if the thief is smart enough, none of the options will win if he/she odins the phone.

Sorry, I don't follow your answer. The question is, if both options are set and a thief enters the wrong lock-screen password 15 times and does not know the factory-reset password, does the phone reset or not?
Of course it does.
My answer was to give you a few options to your options including the one that the thief can manage to avoid the resetting if the phone is odined.
It doesn't matter if the thief knows the factory-reset password if he/she doesn't know the lockscreen password. How can he/she get to the point of entering the factory-reset password if he/she doesn't unlock the screen first?
