I have forgot my PIN while configuring Exchange, please help.
I trying to change it, not yet locked the phone.
Sorry initially posted in wrong section.
Finally found it, since I did not locked the phone after setting up Exchange mail, I was searching here and there.
Checked in "Show Me" section - it is mentioned after five attempts, it will ask to wait for 30 seconds to retry and then Screen will go off, if you turn on; you can select "Forgot Password".
There you can provide your Google Account username & password.
Then it will ask for resetting the PIN to any type.
This is so cool.

Hi guys, my little one was playing with phone and has locked my phone after doing the pattern unlock. Dont know how many times she has done it.
It is now saying unlock using email address.
I have done the following:
If you have forgotten the screen unlock pattern, you have up to five attempts to try and unlock your phone. If this fails, you can unlock your phone by entering your Google Account user name and password.
1. On the unlock screen, attempt to enter your unlock pattern five times.
2. When prompted to wait for 30 seconds, tap OK.
3. If the display goes off, press the POWER button to turn the display back on, and then press the bar on the lock screen and slide your finger down to unlock the screen.
4. Tap the Forgot Pattern button in the lower right corner when it appears.
5. Enter your Google Account name and password, and then tap Sign in.
When i do this it just says invalid username and password, just does not let me go past that screen i can still receive calls which is good for now.
I have tried turning phone off still same thing.
I dont know wat to do now to gain access to my phone. Only had it 2 days.
I have been online to make sure my email address and passwrod are correct and the gmail address is correct. Could it be a different address, as the only other address i use aint working either.
My internet connection is disabled too, am i totally fecked or can someone please advise best way. MANAGED TO GET INTERNET CONNECTED using hold power button still no good.
Thanks and fast reply would help majorly.

Re: **major screw up help pls**
when you have the login with Google account screen, put your Google mail address in as normally and for the password type "null"
excluding ""
give that a go. it will mean you won't need to reset your phone.
You can hard reset the phone (starts the phone like new - will delete all user prefs and apps contacts etc) and will return it to the state it is in when it's new
Turn the phone off
Hold down VolDown and turn the phone on by pressing the Power Button (keep holding VolDown)
Follow the onscreen instructions to wipe your phone

The only time I know of when you have to use @ in a Google login is if you are using a Google apps account with your own domain, otherwise it is always just your username.
I have setup my phone for Screen Unlock. Unfortunately, I have forgotten the PIN I set as an alternative. I can still get onto my phone, but I can't change the PIN as, obviously, it requires you to enter the PIN that was set. I'm doing a nandroid restore to hopefully see if this works. Any way to change it without nandroid or restoring to factory settings for future reference?
Simply enter your pin wrong a couple of times (on the login) and it should ask you to login with your Google account instead allowing you to change or remove the pin.
What the guy above me said. Try to log in multiple times and it will prompt you to enter your gmail password.

This doesn't seem to work. I've tried entering the wrong password on the lockscreen multiple times and all it says is 'Try again.'.

it should but you'll have type it in wrong a bunch of times, wait the 30 seconds for it to let you try again and keep doing it til it asks for the gmail password, I think it was after the 30 minute timer that it'll ask for the password
Edit: Nevermind what I'd said, I just tried it with mine and got up to 100 wrong passwords and it still won't let me use the gmail password.
I used to be able to log in with my username moshiachnow. Today I tried to do that, but it kept prompting me to link my log in with a Google log in. It also had me pick a different user name. So now I have this extra log in, geulanow, and no idea how I can log into my previous account. I tried resetting the password, got a new password, but keep getting logged into geulanow instead.
What am I missing here?
Thanks.
When logging in, you must have pressed the red Google button next to the sign in area. You should instead press the > arrow next to the username/password entry. This will log you in after entering your details.
I've deleted your new account, and you still have your old @moshiachnow account.
Could you please make the design a bit more intuitive?! For example make two buttons, and label one "sign in" and the other "sign in with google".
When you are the designer of the site and therefore know how it's supposed to work, then it's easy. But if you are a user who sees this for the first time then there is absolutely no clue to figure this out, other than by luck / randomly pressing somewhere (which usually isn't a smart idea). I didn't even get, that this little arrow is supposed to be a butten. Thought it to be just a design element without any function.
Because of privacy issue I din't want to sign in with google and therefore started experimenting and searching to figure out an alternate way to log in without google. Took me about 15 Minutes to find this thread. Was near on giving up on xda an searching for an alternate forum.
My 14 month old daughter got a hold of my phone and the fingerprint scanner asked me for my backup password. I proceeded to enter my password of 25 years and it told me i was wrong, it then gave me the option to use my gmail account to verify and unlock, i did that got in and replaced fingerprint with password protection. so here i am thinking everything is great, wrong. phone locks and i put in my password that i just changed it to and it tells me im wrong and now it does not give me the option to verify with my gmail account. Ive tried searching how to get into phone, suggestions were Android device manager which only locks phone and when i tried to change the password it said my phone was already locked and that the password would not be used. so the other suggestion was Samsung Find my Mobile but i have never set up a Samsung account. woe is me. Besides a master reset is there anything i can try? Thanks for all the help.
Hi, I am hoping someone on here can help me.
I am an IT Tech working on a project for a client and had ran into an issue with the Xperia XA Ultra
I wrote a process for rolling out some ofthese devices to users and, after setting up some apps, the deployment staff were supposed to remove the google account. Well, guess what, they missed one, and the user changed the shared google account password, then promptly forgot it, and forgot their PIN code.
So, service desk then go and do a factory reset and lo and behold, when trying to set the device up again, the "Recent Password change" issue has been triggered.
We recovered the google account password but no matter what (even leaving the device off for 5 days) we get the password changed error.
I have spent ages googling this - to no avail.
Has anyone else encountered this and managed to resolve it?
Thanks in advance of any suggestions.
