Has anyone ever run into this problem? I'm on code name android and i was going to transfer some movies to my phone from my computer. Well Windows explorer crashed and i couldn't transfer anything. I tried multiple times and Windows explorer crashed every time. After that when i went into my file explorer all my movies and pictures were deleted on my sd card and internal memory! I ran checks on my computer and no viruses or corrupt system files were detected. Could this be a problem with my Rom or is this a Windows problem...maybe something to do with the mtp transfer method? Anyone else ever have this experience? If it helps I'm running ktoonz kernel at stock settings.
Thanks

I was cleaning my sd card by moving my backups from TWRP to my computer. I cut 4 file folders and pasted them into my computer. They seemed to transfer way too quickly. When I opened them, they were all empty. It isn't a big loss, but I'd prefer to have them back. Is there any way to recover them? Any clue why this happened? Only the empty folders transfered and the sd card only contains the backup that I left behind.
Thanks
Reboot your PC and try transferring again. Your computer seems stucked.

Hi!
I just installed the UK Jelly Bean ROM on my Galaxy Ace 2 and i haven't noticed any issues while using the phone. However, when I try to copy a big file to my sd card connecting the phone to the computer (using mass storage mode), the copy process just freezes. Connecting the SD Card to a normal SD adapter works, there are not any issues copying files that way, but it's imposible to copy files using the phone. Any way to fix this?
Thanks!

I thought I was the only one! I don't think there's a fix for it, not as if Samsung care. Be careful, because of how many times I've had to re-copy files and the constant freezing my SD card was destroyed!

Yeah, that is really annoying, you are not the only one. I've noticed that on MB2 as well, I thought it was a problem in the leak version but it seems they did not bother fixing it. I don't think there is a fix apart from using MTP rather than mass storage for now. Or use apps like AirDroid (or similar) to copy files via WiFi/Data.

It may not be completely destroyed - have you tried running chkdsk /f (or fsck on linux) on your SD card? That saved my card anyway
I usually just take the SD out now and put it into a card reader, I don't like MTP or the hassle of other apps. Besides, I never use the internal SD anyway.
It's definitely dead, I've tried everything from low level formats to what you mentioned. Completely dead, like the one I had before it.. My last phone and the Ace have went through a 32gb SanDisk, 16gb SanDisk and a temporary 4gb no name card in the space of just over a year.
I've had a SanDisk Mobile Ultra 8gb in for a while now and it appears to be working fine so I'm quite happy atm

I recently had to factory restore my M8 due to it constantly rebooting. After my factory restore, I can no longer move files (pictures and videos) to the external SD card. I had the ability to do that prior. I also lost the ability to transfer files from my internal SD to my computer. Can anyone help? . The transfers just hang and then fail. I am stock. No root. I should also note that I tried reformatting the SD card. I moved all the pictures and videos to the internal storage so I wouldn't lose them and could not move them back after reformatting.
You can only do it with root

I've never been rooted and I did it before
Anyone?
Have you tried to move files to another computer?
Give more information. How are you trying to move files to your externalSD? Using your computer or using a file explorer.
You shouldn't be able to write files to your external Sd because of Kitkat's new permissions.
There is a workaround if you have root
Hi guys,
since when I updated via dload folder to kitkat I didn't have got a sd card I put dload folder in the internal memory of the phone.
Now, 2 months later, I am running fine cm11 and I would like to remove this folder since I need some space. The problem is that I can't delete dload folder. I've tried via pc, via ES manager with root permission but nothing worked. I have thought that formatting internal storage vuia TWRP would definetely resolve the problem but I don't know if this could cause other problems or brick the phone. Any suggustion is appreciated
Thanks in advice
It shouldn't cause any problems but you should backup any personal data and some app data stored on it.
