Hello, a friend gave me a Samsung Note II GT-N7100 and it has been the biggest pain in the arse of a phone I have ever had. We are in China right now and this is a China stock phone so it has all the Chinese crap on it no one wants like only allowing you to use baidu not google, and other annoying things like no play store and immediately closing it if you self install and open it, no google apps, and I cannot even add my google account in the accounts page.
So it would seem what I want is a stock rom that keeps all the functionality of the phone and that allows me to use the phone in China (China Unicom) without all the god knows what running in the background.
So I went here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1896696 and got the newest stock China rom N7100ZCALJ6 N7100CHNALJ6 and used Odin to flash and everything went perfectly, pass and everything. When the flash was finished the phone still started in the old bloated Chinese Android and when I did a reset it did its thing but again reset into the old bloated Chinese Android, after it resets and the phone starts up it goes into a progress bar screen and starts installing a bunch of Chinese software crap on the phone too.
When I go to the download mode screen it says:
Odin Mode
Product Name: GT-N7100_CHN_CHN
Custom Binary Download: No
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Official
What did I do wrong?
Thanks.
ps. I know there are stock roms that work here as my wife has a grey market chinese Samsung S3 that has a stock rom with touchwiz with all the google apps and the phone works perfectly here.
Next time use search function first, I already replied twice to this problem.

btw: Why should it change with another Chinese firmware? They are all bloated...

1) I bought a phone off Craigslist. (continue reading when you are done laughing please)

3) I hear many people have this issue with bad firmware (or hardware)
4) The phone is in warranty per Samsungs RMA site, samsungcom/us/support/service/request
but the site is bugged and i cant RMA it. Upon entering the IMEI it says "In warranty: Manufactured Oct 1, 2011 but I cant complete the process
The firmware is SEEH05 on both camera and phone.
Upon searching, NO ONE seems to have this firmware?? WTF?
5) If I flash stock ROM or flash custom ROM, will the camera update as well? Or is it permanently this firmware version?

8) Does anyone have experience with RMAing a Galaxy S-II? Will Samsung honor the IMEI and service the camera even if I dont have proof of purchase?
Thank you in advance~
I just installed Juggernaut hoping this would update my phone and camera firmware, but when I type

into the keypad, I'm still at SEEH05, even after installing juggernaut 4.1. Is there anyway I can install another camera firmware version?
Try using Odin to flash to stock 2.3.5 or .6 Once my brother dropped his G2 in water, let it all dry out and his phone has never been rooted. Some stock apps and including camera kept failing. I decided to factory reset, and everything is back to normal except that the water damage sticker is now red but everythings all good. Flashing Odin for any occasion never hurts...

Ok.. So I got my S3 (Sprint version) in November. After I upgraded to JB (Android v4.1.1) I rooted my device. Played aroubd with some ROM's, had the TWRP recovery installed. Everything worked fine, and the phone actually still works great. A couple of weeks ago it told me there was a system update available. I didn't know of it was safe to allow it to happen or not since I was rooted so I used TWRP recovery to flash a stock rom that would unroot my s3 and reset the flash counter to zero and make it all stock in one bang. So I did that, went and cleared the data in Google Services Framework so I could redownload the update, I restart to let the update install and it shows the android guy with the blue thing in his belly, but only goes about half way through the process and just stops, the android guy quickly dissapears and another pic of him pops up of him laying on his back with a red triangle over his belly, then the phone quickly reboots and goes back to my lockscreen.
As seen in the pic, I must be getting some of the upgrade as the baseband version shows MA6, but the build number still shows LJ7 and the Android Version still shows 4.1.1. Also I went to the camera and can take burst shots by holding dowb the camera button, which is a new feature.
But with things the way they are, I can continue to clear out the data from google services framework and still get notified of the 157mb update download. But every time I do it, it does the same thing as explained above. I have also tried to download the update in a .zip file and flash it in recovery mode. There it seems like it goes through the entire process but I still get the same result as seen in the pic. I also tried downloading the stock recovery and flashing that with Odin just in case. So basically I have a sprint galaxy s3, unrooted, 4.1.1 android software with a bit of 4.1.2 in there. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I suggest you should go check out the Sprint Samsung s3 forum under the Android development section the check out for the stock rom, try using the 1 click Odin or check out in there the proper way to restore your device, then continue reading the forums to check out when or how is the proper way to apply that update it could be that its bugged or that your device lost some permissions so best way to solve it should be to restore it to its original state.

You cant install an OTA update unless you have the official stock rom and the stock recovery because custom recoveries will install it and I believe im correct when I say that to flash an OTA update you have to odin to stock and then do the update.
There is absolutely no need to go back to stock to take the update. If you head over to freezas stock rooted thread, you can flash the updated firmware there and thats really all you need
Most roms have already updated their bases to MB1 (4.1.2), so I suggest you either wait till your rom is updated or flash an updated rom, you're not missing out on huge changes either way
Most custom touchwiz roms will allow updates, but you have to flash stick recovery 1st. The 157mb update is for mb1. You could just change your build prop to get the notification nag to go away

If you're on stock rooted with no apps removed, do what I did. Plug phone into odin, flash stock recovery, update, flash custom after update done, re root, done.

Just flash a updated rom issue should go away there is a flashable I can't seem to find right now that stops the nag. I think it is a build prop mod.

Yup, if you just wanna make it go away, go into your build.prop and change all instances of "LJ7" (or "MA6" ) to "MB1"

That's all I do. Once an update comes out I just head over to Freezas page and update my rom. Stock look and feel with the root in place.

Hi all,
I made a dumb move and installed the CM11 port for my T320 without backing up my Samsung stock firmware. (I'd post over in the appropriate thread in the development section, but I haven't posted here frequently enough to be allowed over there). I want to go back to the Samsung UI for now because I am having some troubles with CM11 ... my tablet thinks it's a phone, so I'm not getting the tablet features and app versions. Plus something is off with my screen so that some apps (Flipboard, at least) runs everything off the right side and bottom of the screen. Anyway, does anyone have an idea of how to get me back to my Samsung UI? I can't get Kies to talk to my tablet (another thing that cropped up with this CM build) so I can't get that to reflash it for me.
I have downloaded an Odin-flashable Samsung stock firmware from Australia (I'm in the US) so I'm guessing that will work, but I'd rather find an easier option before I give my tablet a globetrotting split identity disorder or something.
Please understand, I've rooted, reflashed, and even unbricked devices before, so I'm not new to this, just made a dumb mistake.
I believe that is the only way to go. The good news is you can install twrp recovery now so it shouldnt be an issue again. Bad news is there isnt a flashable stock firmware that I know of yet. Im kinda hoping for cleanrom as he did a hell of a job on the note 3 and knows the system better than most.

I've used Samsung Kies from my PC several time to go back to stock.
When using Kies you may have to switch your connection from MTP to the other option and of course check debug.
I went back and forth from CM11 several time plus I did what you did also except I used the New Zealand version
Here's what I did to restore stock from Kies.
Plug in the tablet, open Kies, and click Tools then Firmware upgrade and initialization. Type in SM-T320, hit okay, then add your serial number.
Basically just follow the steps it asks you and make sure your tablet is in download mode. It will download the stock firmware image and flash it to the device.
My instructions might now be 100% accurate, but that's basically the process I took to restore it to factory.
Just purchased a display model Sprint Epic Touch D710 and decided to root it with Odin-OC. It appeared to go flawlessly (PASSED) but when restarted several times only comes up to home screen enter pass code and home screen does not respond to anything - locks up at this point and reboots. My actual model is MV SAM710BK if this makes any difference. It came with Sprint FreedomPop. I should have backed it up before rooting but did not. Should I try to unroot it and go back to stock? Can I just reverse the rooting? Thanks in advance - Bill
Fixed problem - phone back working better than ever!
Hopefully this will help someone else who does the same thing. First BACKUP!!! before rooting or changing ROM I know this is basic but I messed up and its scary not knowing if your device will ever work again or not. If you need to "goback" like me well you cant since there was no backup so what I did was load the latest stock rom - no erase data - that WAS also rooted. I guess the worst that could have happened was I would have wiped the device and gone back to stock. Go to this web site:
http://www.rwilco12.com/downloads.p...ung Galaxy S2 (Sprint) (SPH-D710)/Stock ROMs/
and get the latest ROM available in my case it was Odin GA10_818252_Rooted_Nodata and once installed it will open Odin3Excution v1.81 interface where you connect and download with basically one click. The Update or whatever you want to call it is better than the stock one I received with bloatware gone and things working better than original. Awesome resource RWilco12's web site!
Short history of what I've done/where I'm at now:
The History
Wanted to upgrade rooted D855 from 4.4.2KK to 5.X Lollipop
De-rooted using SuperSU. Rebooted, and went to update center to apply update. Message saying "Phone has been noted to be rooting. Software update not available for rooted phones." or something thereabouts.
Decide to factory reset phone. Does nothing.
Follow this guide (Link) to completely wipe and start fresh. All goes well.
Bunch of bloatware comes pre-installed. What the hell?
Decide to combat this by following this guide (The KDZ way) (Link) and this Image (3 UK variant) to attempt to get back to my original version.
Used this one-click root (Link) to re-root my Android 5.0 variant (question on this later)
Goes well pretty much; everything seems about right. However, here are the problems.
The Problems
I have rooted and have Titanium Backup Pro; tried using this to remove the bloatware. Doesn't do anything, and if I try to do them individually I get the message "cannot remove System app. Failed to locate the APK file." This is my #1 problem. I have a bunch of European apps that I can't pronounce, plus rubbish like 'Orange Antivirus'. Even things like Deezer is now pre-installed system crap, listed under the Software center portion of the LG Updates area on the phone.
My 3 splash screen no longer comes up, which is fine, makes the booting either faster or just seem smoother. However, it makes me wonder whether I'm on the right version of Android now; will I miss updates to future version of Android from hereon out?
Is Android 5.0 the latest update for the EU D855? I heard 5.0 was having problems on the G3, hence why I've updated so late. However, if I'm now stuck on the version WITH the problems, that's not good.
Bump; anyone? This is driving me nuts!
Hi,
1. To uninstall the antivirus you need to remove it from the phone administrators.
2. There should be at least the LG boot animation.
3. Yes. The latest update is still 5.0.
I suggest that you move to a custom Rom based on stock like cloudy 2.5.
Much better Rom and free of bloatware.
Regards

I gave up on waiting (the bloatware was driving me crazy, not usually so impatient), and just installed TWRP, wiped it and reinstalled a fully stock ROM, so all sorted now. Any benefit to using Cloudy 2.5 over complete stock? Any performance/battery benefits?
Thanks for your response though
