Have voltages been tweaked to allow you to run it at these speeds and it still be stable?
Edit: Have you compiled the new wifi driver to go with the kernel as well?
I think it would be best if you just posted it anyway. Those interested will download it, use it, comment, etc. Those uninterested will ignore.
Sounds crazy. How would it effect bacon bits if you have that installed?

Yes I have the wifi driver and no it wont affect bacon bits. It is actually now 1.9Ghz and I'm reaching for the big 2.0. I am using coolbho3's source code and 1.8 worked on 1400Mhz and 1.9ghz is at 1500. It gets a little warm but setcpu profiles are a must

What have the voltages been tweaked to? If the Cpu isnt getting enough voltage and you continue to overclock your gonna begin to get negative effects followed by freezing and rebooting. Not really concerned too much about battery life as much as stability.
EDIT: Oh NVM i see what your saying the Mhz after the 1400 threw me off
Seeing as this post already has so many posts I'll be posting it in a bit after I have tested for bugs. Watch this thread for updates.

Anyone care to mirror this? Rapid**** always tells me I can't download because I'm running a parallel download... even though I'm not. Mediafire maybe?
Just curious as to what is popular as far as undervolting apps go on the SGS II. Its one of the only things i havnt messed with on this phone. Back on my captivate i had super awesome undervolts with using the "Voltage Control" app. I loved that thing, can it stull be used on the SGS II?
and also if any of you have an awesome UV that works for you, mind posting the settings here?

Haik,
What happen, AT$T throttle you out the door too? lol
If you're looking for battery improvement, try Kobridge tweaks linked under KO in my sig.
There are diff modes for better performance(SF) to better battery(A)
They definitely perfect CM9
Tegrak works well, but I don't undervolt because of the KO tweaks.
Tegrak is the only one we can use right now. I prefer SetCPU though because it's a lot simpler. I hope to return to using that once we get custom kernels after ICS source is out.

My kernels are more about removing waste than adding stuff (Although i do grab features that are worth while, i am more referring to patches fixing issues noone knew they had, just to inflate git logs)
Things i do add is tweaks to cool overly Yellow panels.
And it's usually possible to benefit both ways, keep Max Freq low and grab all voltage drops and other savings, or raise it up and enjoy the extra power.
Morfic, would much rather see you over on the Sprint version, but glad to see you on the SGS III. Used to use your kernels on the Nexus S and they were the best around. Hopefully once you get everything settled in, we might see you branching to other carriers.

I just figured out how to get new ROMs onto the phone so I got the Jedi one. Sorry if this is in the wrong place in the forums, I didn't know where to put it, any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Android. You are in exactly the right place to ask general questions. If you have a ROM specific question, you should go to the Q&A thread for that ROM.
As far as your question regarding overclocking the NII, you have to have source before anyone can add overclocking to the kernel. I believe there is source for Ice Cream Sandwich, but none yet for Jelly Bean. If you feel the need to overclock, then you should try an ICS ROM. I personally have not felt the need to overclock the NII. It has always been plenty fast for anything I've done. But I don't play games, so I don't know how it runs them.

Here are two methods.
1. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2001936
Flash it onto your note 2 in CWM recovery. Choose which overclock suits you the best. Use system tuner app from play store to change GHz of processor after you flash one of those kernals.
2. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1983658
This one is the most popular, its extremely stable. Overclocks your CPU to 1.8 GHz. Use system tuner app from play store to change GHz of CPU after you flash this kernal.
If you have questions, do ask!
Please keep in mind that overclocking is an art. Two devices with the same hardware might not overclock the same. One might go up to 2ghz while another might only make it up to 1.7. Start slow and make sure it is running stable before increasing the overclock. Use small increments. Also one kernel might not overclock the same as another. Good luck and have fun!
Something Experimental...

I have seen 2.1 up to 2.3. 2.1 is publicly available.
If I overclocked it to 2.1 would my antutu scores be better than when it's only at 1.8? Cuz I got 19937 on antutu on 1.8ghz. Also, thanks for all of your input into this thread.
And where could I find the kernel to let me over clock to 2.1ghz?
I really wouldn't ever go above 1.5GHz on a quad-core phone... are you gonna feel a difference between 20k and 18k when it comes to real world performance? Seriously doubt it. My optimus G was at 20k when I first opened it, its sitting at 17k now. No difference at all in real world terms. All you're doing is cooking your CPU. Please. Don't go over 2GHz.. and if you do, you should be able to start cooking eggs on your phone real soon.

Right - N4 is Qualcomm powered.
You can't expect every Nexus phone to get decent kernel development, especially since the GNex is manufactured by Samsung and uses OMAP.

Example: Samsung b!tches close their Exynos sources, hence much less custom kernels for their flagships.
Having both a Nexus moniker AND a CPU whose manufacturer is more open-sourced definitely helps N4 gets quick feature/ROM backports from N5 and similar architecture'd phones.
Enough N4 chats.
