Just curious as to what is popular as far as undervolting apps go on the SGS II. Its one of the only things i havnt messed with on this phone. Back on my captivate i had super awesome undervolts with using the "Voltage Control" app. I loved that thing, can it stull be used on the SGS II?
and also if any of you have an awesome UV that works for you, mind posting the settings here?

That's the only one that you can use right now on the e4gt with ics so that's why I use it and its more stable to me than setcpu

Haik,
What happen, AT$T throttle you out the door too? lol
If you're looking for battery improvement, try Kobridge tweaks linked under KO in my sig.
There are diff modes for better performance(SF) to better battery(A)
They definitely perfect CM9
Tegrak works well, but I don't undervolt because of the KO tweaks.
Tegrak is the only one we can use right now. I prefer SetCPU though because it's a lot simpler. I hope to return to using that once we get custom kernels after ICS source is out.

I use tegrak. I generally undervolt -50mv on each step and on GPU steps. Seems to work well and add a little bit of battery life back.

I am actually surprised that stock kernel with Tegrak is giving higher numbers than our current overclockable kernels. It was never that way on the OG Epic unless you really got brave. 1.4 was safe Max on OG Epic and people got brave and got it to 1.6 with Tegrak and insane voltages...but not daily use stable. Just to run some benchmarks ans snap some screenies. Then there was Marcusant's UberQuadrant terminal command that gave 9000+ quadrants. Its easily tricked but a good tool to gauge differences in your personal setup

I think it has to do with the source kernel not being 100% compared to the actual kernel that comes on the phone. Was going back and forth with sammy about this and with some recent info from mkasick I'm hoping the next response I get is something along the lines of "Oooh **** our bad here is the correct defconfig"
hey I can dream can't I?

Ok, so im using Juggernaut 4.1 Rom and wanted to know what the best settings are to use for overclocking? Im Using AnTuTu CPU Master Pro 2.3 to do it. What are the best default setting, charging, screen off settings/profiles to use? Don't want any issues and good battery life! Any suggestions would be great! Thanks a million!

If your on Juggernaut, the bullet kernel is already included and overclocks to 1.67ghz . Unless you know more about kernels than team kang, I'd leave the setting as is.

There's no best setting for every phone. Not all phones are equal. So if you can overclock to 1.8 and your phone is stable, then go for it. Your best bet is to experiment and see what works for you. Just be aware the higher the overclock the worse your battery life will be.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
Use an app like Faux clock or SetCPU. Honestly though, I'm using juggernaut 4.1 and I underclock it to 1.2ghz. Everything runs amazingly well still and the battery life is great.

Do a little research before flaming people. Bullet runs below 1.8ghz because that speed level is stressful for the phone and results in no added improvement.
If an experienced developer builds something you don't have a clue about, why would you want to change their settings?

It's pretty easy to switch between kernels (just put the zip on your external and flash with CWM). Try em both out and let us know which one you think is better.
I'm using Franco's kernel atm and think it's great (still on 18.4) but haven't used the Glados one.
Alright thanks for the input everyone!
It depends on what you need, battery life or performance. etc ?

At this point pretty much only the low end, once i have this kernel at a more solid place i will push voltages overall further.

yeap i think i would speak for most when we say...battery life is more of a priority than speed, since this thing is fast and smooth out of the box.

My kernels are more about removing waste than adding stuff (Although i do grab features that are worth while, i am more referring to patches fixing issues noone knew they had, just to inflate git logs)
Things i do add is tweaks to cool overly Yellow panels.
And it's usually possible to benefit both ways, keep Max Freq low and grab all voltage drops and other savings, or raise it up and enjoy the extra power.
Morfic, would much rather see you over on the Sprint version, but glad to see you on the SGS III. Used to use your kernels on the Nexus S and they were the best around. Hopefully once you get everything settled in, we might see you branching to other carriers.

I hate to be "that guy" but really...why did you think that DEVELOPMENT would be a better place to post this than Q&A?
It's pretty much Perseus or stock. Stock runs fine for me as is.
I think different phones handle kernels different ways. My battery is better stock. Also why can people post in development. You should have to be a dev or get permission from a mod if your new.

I just loaded deodex lk8 fresh installed. perseous 31 and it makes my phone run jerky. I play arcane legends aswell and its noticable there too. stock is smooth for me.
I'm using ljc. I have force gpu rendering checked also. Seems to help a little.
Hmm I noticed that frame skipping too, but even when forcing performance at 1.8ghz and capping the gpu at 533mhz it still happens (even though its capping the vsync)
but besides that perseus kernel runs smooth for everything use.
I wonder what's causing it. I haven't tried stock yet. (no joke I rooted this phone within an hour or so of owning it. Didn't even mess with it stock outside of activating it)
No one sees this really? I have a cov worker with the same setup. installed the kernel and his does the same jerkyness. so it can't be my device. I'm very keen to stuff like this btw.

Quadrant has issues on ics and jb anyways and benchmark apps really dont tell give you a look at the whole situation. I'm running perseus v31 on my rom and have it overclocked to 1.8ghz cpu and 800mhz gpu and undervolted 75mv cpu and 50mv gpu and its way smoother than stock. But then again I've odexed and optimized my rom and slightly modified the kernel a tad but b4 the modifications and odexing etc it ran just fine on deodexed ljc
