I'm having to burn through data on my phone because Wi-Fi isn't working since 4.2, is there some fix for it?
I'm on the cataclysm ROM.

Never had a problem with Wi-Fi, I'm on Eclipse build 3 with lean kernel. Try a different kernel or ROM.

Check out the thread myself and a few others need to turn off mobile data to get WiFi working, the developer knows about this bug,
Reflashing after a complete wipe has got it working as it should

Sometimes when I unlock the phone when I'm at work I see that my battery is lower than usual and I recently found out that the wifi has been automatically turning on. Anyone know why? I've been having this problem alot now and its annoying.

Keep wifi on if you have a good connection.

Weird... never had this problem and I turn off WiFi daily.
You try resetting? You on stock rom or custom?
Never had that happen either, and its probably a bug (factory reset may help) unless you maybe have an app trying to do it?
I toggle WiFi daily and have never had it turn on by itself. Maybe an app turning it on?
I'm gonna try factory reset to see if that works

I have used quite a few JB roms, my GPS works perfectly. It gets locked very quickly.
I have had some GPS problems after jellybean. Read about GPS status app and fast fix app. Installed both. Locks faster than ever.

GPS working perfectly fine on my stock 4.1.1 GSM model.
Just noticed this today. Stock GSM Nexus from the Play store. Worked fine on ICS, but after the OTA no GPS lock.

Hmmm. I have never had issues with my GPS but today for some reason I can't even get a lock outside. I see up to 11 satellites but they don't lock on. This just started happening.
I'm in Texas if that matters.

No, California. I got it to work again. Get faster fix and GPS test. Set faster fix to North America and use GPS test to clear agps
That worked. What's odd is that its still not locking on to as many satellites as usual

must be something wrong with the gps servers then...
On stock 4.1.1 currently and using maps or navigation my gps lock has been incredibly slow. It also doesn't locate my location very well any more. Was perfect on ICS.

Same here, and I've had the phone (on 4.1.1, unrooted) since Monday. It's always locked quickly before today. It only finally locked on a handful of satellites after more than a half hour of searching.
I'm in Minnesota; maybe it's a CDT thing?
I am having GPS issues today too, been working fine until today. I'm in chicago

Hi all,
Since flashing 4.1.2 (after a complete wipe) my data connection sometimes doesn't connect after disconnecting from wifi.
I see the "H" icon but the bars stay gray and the connection is down.
The only way to fix this once it happens is to reboot, which is quite annoying...
I've had this problem before on 4.0 but it eventually went away.
I tried both the default xxlf radio and uglh.
EDIT: I should mention I'm running stock and rooted.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I have the exact same problem.
Appeared with 4.0.4 , solved with 4.1, but broken again with 4.1.2
rebooting solves nothing, nor airplane mode.
I have to delete and reset my APN's
I'm not rooted
Me too...

Same here. Only way to fix it is through a reboot. Airplane mode trick doesn't work for me at all. Seems to happen much more often when I switch from H back to E when I'm done browsing on work breaks.
Same think for me, reboot to resolve.
I'm on slimbeam 2.8 and Trinity S63, but same problem on CNA ...
Nice to see I'm not the only one...
I'll open a bug report tonight (assuming there isn't one already)

Mine only seems to do it if I constantly go back and forth between HSPA and EDGE(like I stated before). Kinda sucks. lol. Wonder what happened that could've caused this.
Stock, Rooted, Unlocked bootloader
This happens to me almost every single time. I find that turning off LTE then turning it back on seems to work.
EDIT:
Also is it only me, or does JB take over 2 minutes to boot up? Long story short I used OTA Rootkeeper to keep root, I installed the update.zip in CWM and it installed. CWM didn't have to be reinstalled and my Bootloader stayed unlocked. When I installed the OTA update.zip though I didn't clear cache or do a wipe, I just installed it, could that be leading to my O.S. issues?

I flashed bigxie's 4.2 image last night and everything ran fine, or so I thought. As soon as I left my house in the am and I wasn't getting any data. Calls and texts were going no problem. Thought maybe it was a bad flash or something. Reflashed. Same problem. Returned to stock 4.2 using the toolkit and still the same problem. So I restored to 4.1.2 stock and I finally had data again. I flashed the cataclysm 4.2 ROM and no data again. Flashed latest CNA and I have data.
Does my phone just not like 4.2?? What's going on here??

Not sure if the problem is fixed or not but everything is working. Here's what I did in case anyone else needs help with this same problem.
I restored to 4.1.2 using the toolkit and then waited until the phone got the ota and updated using that to 4.2 (I did this the first time and had data, then went into the settings and did a factory restore and ended up with no data. So I repeated the process without the restore and it all worked.) I then used the toolkit to root and install CWM recovery. Still running stock 4.2 but everything is working and I am a bit nervous in flashing a custom rom until I can figure out if it may have just been a ATT problem in my area or some kind of glitch with my phone.
Hope this helps anyone else that may have the same weird problem.
As many of you know, since the 4.3 update, WiFi on the galaxy nexus stops automatically scanning after going into deep sleep. The only way to get it to scan again is to go into the WiFi menu or toggle it on and off. Let's try to find which change in 4.3 broke this on the galaxy nexus.
I have been looking through the changes that have been made between 4.2 and 4.3 to how wifi is handled and may have found what is causing the issue.
I think I may have found something. In /system/etc/wifi/wpa_supplicant_overlay.conf
Theres a line:
disable_scan_offload=1 (has to do with allowing scanning to be offloaded to the driver)
This line didn't exist in 4.2.2. Change it to 0 and reboot and see if your wifi scanning doesn't stop working after a while.
I just ran an errand and it connected perfect when I got home which is usually when it stops working. I need further testing but would appreciate some more testers to see if there's a real change in behavior.

No its not fixed in 4.3.1. I am on cm10.2 4.3.1 and without this modification it definitely stopped scanning today.

Would it be possible to find a fix for the data hand off issue using the same thought process? A simple edit to a text file and problem solved? Wouldn't that be nice!

Unfortunately I had it stop scanning yesterday. I gotta look more deeply.
I don't quite understand what you mean by this. Are you saying that if you go into deep sleep WiFi just stops working or something?
Are you by chance thinking of this?: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42665427&postcount=2459
Also in WiFi settings on 4.3 there are more options there than there was with 4.2, just try looking through them, I believe there's even ones for battery savings or something. Also is a setting to allow WiFi to turn itself on to get a more accurate location automatically or something, among other things.
