Sometimes when I unlock the phone when I'm at work I see that my battery is lower than usual and I recently found out that the wifi has been automatically turning on. Anyone know why? I've been having this problem alot now and its annoying.

Keep wifi on if you have a good connection.

Weird... never had this problem and I turn off WiFi daily.
You try resetting? You on stock rom or custom?
Never had that happen either, and its probably a bug (factory reset may help) unless you maybe have an app trying to do it?
I toggle WiFi daily and have never had it turn on by itself. Maybe an app turning it on?
I'm gonna try factory reset to see if that works

I have the same issue, anyone helps?!!

Has anyone experienced this? My phone does go to deep sleep... This is weird.
Hi. Yes i have noticed that too on AOKP M3 and latest CM9 build. At first i thought that some app keeps using it, but same happens after formatting data/cache. Must be some ICS bug. Or Google just wants to have 24/7 access to our phones

Got my sgs3 Sunday and when I got home turned on WiFi and started playing with it I notice that I lose network for a second after about 15 mins and my WiFi icon on the status bar disappear but network comes back on .. but in settings it is greyed out and I can't turn it off then back on till I reboot 0_o...thought maybe after I rooted and flash AOKP it would be fixed but no! I'm on T-Mobile and AOKP..so is it a bad WiFi driver or...? Any ideas?
#*0011# press the menu key. Select wifi. uncheck wifi power saver mode. Its should be green when on black off. Make sure its not on and done go back to home screen. Your phone should reboot the wifi driver and your done.
This method works for 4.0.4 any of the roms. Cm10 doesn't work. Cm9 haven't tried but I'm sure it'll work for u.
Hit the thanks if I've helped!

JB has these wifi issues I was expiriencing the same problems on cm10 as well. (I know not the same but both are jb) I decided to downgrade to the intrigue rom r3. It has smooth transitions. Real buttery and it let me access the wifi power saver mode by down ng the method above. I'll look into aokp and see if I can find a fix for u.

For anyone who has already turned off WiFi PSM, is anyone experiencing this setting turning itself back on? I have turned it off twice today and every so often it turns back on which ends up turning my WiFi back off...

Question: are you rebooting your phone when this happens?
Cuz if you are that's normal on every reboot you have to go back and turn it off again.

I was not rebooting the phone. I am currently trying a different rom to see if that solves anything.
Weird

Well it still keeps happening. I switched from intrigue rom to freegs3. I'm currently using the phone at work and it happened right before my eyes while using Tapatalk... I had to turn off power saver mode yet again

would the method above work for me? since yesterday, my wifi kept turning on by itself. After I turned the wifi off for like a couple minutes then it'll turn on automatically again. I have the Keep Wifi on during sleep set as "only when plugged in" and it never happen to be before until yesterday. My power saving in the setting menu has always been off too. Please help! :crying::crying:
Install the app called "Wifi Fixer" app to the solve the issue.
Whatever Google did to cause a variety of wakelock problems, having a strong wifi signal seems to solve them. Apparently, wakelocks occur when there are unreliable connections to Google's servers.

Hi all,
Since flashing 4.1.2 (after a complete wipe) my data connection sometimes doesn't connect after disconnecting from wifi.
I see the "H" icon but the bars stay gray and the connection is down.
The only way to fix this once it happens is to reboot, which is quite annoying...
I've had this problem before on 4.0 but it eventually went away.
I tried both the default xxlf radio and uglh.
EDIT: I should mention I'm running stock and rooted.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I have the exact same problem.
Appeared with 4.0.4 , solved with 4.1, but broken again with 4.1.2
rebooting solves nothing, nor airplane mode.
I have to delete and reset my APN's
I'm not rooted
Me too...

Same here. Only way to fix it is through a reboot. Airplane mode trick doesn't work for me at all. Seems to happen much more often when I switch from H back to E when I'm done browsing on work breaks.
Same think for me, reboot to resolve.
I'm on slimbeam 2.8 and Trinity S63, but same problem on CNA ...
Nice to see I'm not the only one...
I'll open a bug report tonight (assuming there isn't one already)

Mine only seems to do it if I constantly go back and forth between HSPA and EDGE(like I stated before). Kinda sucks. lol. Wonder what happened that could've caused this.
Stock, Rooted, Unlocked bootloader
This happens to me almost every single time. I find that turning off LTE then turning it back on seems to work.
EDIT:
Also is it only me, or does JB take over 2 minutes to boot up? Long story short I used OTA Rootkeeper to keep root, I installed the update.zip in CWM and it installed. CWM didn't have to be reinstalled and my Bootloader stayed unlocked. When I installed the OTA update.zip though I didn't clear cache or do a wipe, I just installed it, could that be leading to my O.S. issues?

I've noticed dropping reception. And weaker signal.. paranoid android 2.51 with trinity latest stable
I'm having to burn through data on my phone because Wi-Fi isn't working since 4.2, is there some fix for it?

Check out the thread myself and a few others need to turn off mobile data to get WiFi working, the developer knows about this bug,
Reflashing after a complete wipe has got it working as it should
Since last couple of months I'm facing this. My wifi, once connected, stays connected. But once turned off, after turning on, it would just show the connection as saved, secured with wpa2 and won't connect. Turning off and on multiple times doesn't help as well. Just if i keep it off for some hours or so, then turn it on, it might sometimes get connected. The signal strength is excellent though and once connected, it stays connected. I've tried factory resetting, formatting data as well. Tried a lot of different roms but in vain. Could this be a hardware issue? Is there any workaround for this?
Does this occur with all wifi locations?
Are you running stock rom?

I didn't think the radio would impact Wi-Fi.
I would try to see what happens on another Wi-Fi hotspot, to rule out something with the home wi-fi.
