Howdy,
Everywhere I have been searching and I can't seem to find the answer. Can I buy an unlocked version for Verizon? The reason I ask is because I look at the specs and I see LTE. Can someone help please. Thank you.
Steve

No, to use the Verizon service you will need to get the phone from Verizon and it will have logo on the front and back if it will work.

Probably just answered before, But I looked and didn't see it.
I seen on Newegg.com they are selling an Unlocked Galaxy Nexus. I don't want to leave Sprint for Verizon. Been with them for over 10 years. But, If I purchase the Unlocked Verizon Galaxy Nexus. Can I make it work with Sprint's? Since they use the same towers for Roam and such?
If no one replies to my question I'll take it as "It's been answered".
No, the newegg unlocked phone will only work on GSM carriers.

Of course Also, for what it's worth the Verizon version won't work on Sprint either, so you'll have to switch if you want the phone
Hi,
have a samsung i515 need
set to dm
diagnostic port
phone is from verizon
before you get flamed, you are posting in the wrong section, not even android related, but your best bet would be using google searching or asking in Q&A section. best of lucks
Huh? Not trying to be an ass, but I have no clue what you said

Samsung i515 is the CDMA Galaxy Nexus.... Other than that his post confused me.
(OK I researched a bit... Looks like claro Codetel is a Dominican cell provider)
My best guess is he bought the verizon gnex and is trying to find a way to use it on the Dominican provider service?

Does anyone know if the sprint and verizon galaxy nexus screens are interchangeable? A friend scratched up his screen and wants to replace only the screen and doesn't want to go thru insurance and receive a refurb that may have other problems.I find some sellers that have the verizon model number and GSM versions but not the sprint model number version. Thanks.

There was another thread here about someone who tried it and it didn't work out well for them. It doesn't quite fit in and requires some altering. Based on that, I would not recommend it.

The only other thread I found was someone trying a cdma (verizon) screen on a GSM phone. But I wanna know if the sprint and verizon screens are interchangeable.

Okay, newbie here. Will be buying my first smartphone and I've decided on the galaxy nexus. First, some important info: I'm from Canada. Bell has the phone on a three year contract with a $50 plan, which I don't want. So I'm looking at buying an unlocked version so there won't be contracts and I can use which ever carrier I want.
NegriElectronics seems to sell it unlocked. (aww.....can't post links.)
However, when I asked the guy, he said that it was the GSM version so will only work with gsm networks. But from my research online and a similar post on this forum, it seems that any and all galaxy nexus phones have quadband gsm and pentaband hspa so will work with all carriers?
So I'm currently confused as to which one is correct. I really want to make sure. Since I'm new to this, any help is appreciated. Thanks.
Both are correct. The GNex is a quadband GSM phone, and thus will operate in all GSM networks.
Canadian carriers already killed cdma, so you can use it on basically any carrier you want on Canada. Only if it's not lte SIM card or anything like that

Thank you very much to both for clarifying. So wait, what if I buy the galaxy nexus from either windmobile or mobilicity as they both allow you to buy it outright without contract? Will I still be able to use the phone with other carriers or will it be locked to the company I bought it from?

hey guys ,
I bought a verizon 32 gb Galaxy Nexus (sch 1515) from craigslist. I was in a hurry so i didnt bother to check the phone. (i know i am stupid )
But I am with t-mobile. And when i put my t-mobile simcard in to it. it did not recognise it.
MY question is ... Is there any way to make this phone work on t-mobile (unlocking or anything else ) , Or am i better off by selling it away?
Any help is greatly appreciated
thank you
Nope.
Verizon uses CDMA technology, so it's not compatible with T-Mobile's network. Sell it or trade it for a GSM model. Probably cost you a little bit more, since the unlocked (GSM) version has better resale value usually.
