[Q] Coming from Desire Z - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

So checking out the roms here and touchwiz seems to be the most popular kinda like sense is on desire z but I'm wondering whats some of the more popular stable aosp/aokp roms for the S3? I really prefer the pure android experience and i'll customize it. I'm coming from a G2 with andromadus mimicry and its a nice rom anything comparable or just a more standard experience?

I'm not sure you can directly compare whatever was available under sense with what you'll find on the S3...

watch YouTube reviews of certain roms and make a decision that way or take a day to flash and test the most popular ones.

Hey I upgraded this afternoon from the desire z.
I am in the same boat as you. I am going to get CM10

[Q] Why aren't there more AOSP Based ROMs?

I had an HD2 prior to my DHD and I loved how there were so many custom AOSP ROMs for the HD2 along side CM7.
I'm finding it hard to believe that there are so many iterations of Sense ROMs (which I never really liked tbh) and MIUI and then CM7 and some patched CM7s but barely any AOSP ones compiled/tweaked/moded for the DHD.
No one has had the desire to dev a stock AOSP from scratch ROM for the DHD??
Take a look in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1071790, it's not much but excactly what you are looking for

Sense Rom?

Does anyone know of anyone trying to port a sense rom to our device, i have seen that there is a htc rezound ics rom leaked n just wondered if anyone had tried to?
If sense can go to aosp I would believe aosp can go to sense or any other style I think. Just haven't seen it yet personally. Maybe I should scope around the nexus s and see if its been done already. Nor have I seen a HTC run touchwiz, or Samsung run blur but I Have seen themes that mimic each other. Would be nice to have the option though.

Ye i would love the option just like the nexus one days i know it was easier because htc desire was nearly the same spec, but i would love to alpha try it n help a developer get it going. I think it will make alot of people happy to have it aswell
Why get the Nexus if you want Sense? Better off waiting for the Sensation to get ICS and then get that

[Q] Looking To Buy a Phone and is there a One X Jelly Bean Rom?

Hello All,
I am looking to buy a HTC One X, and I was wondering if anyone could name well supported Jelly Bean ROMS that have all basic features working. All help would be appreciated, and I can still be swayed to buy another phone, so if you have one for sale, please post it!
Thank you for all help!

Yeah man there's a few good jelly bean ROMs. New updates are coming out almost ever day the best ones I think are cyanogenmod 10 domination and ice cold jelly.

Thanks for the suggestions, and as far as the one x's performance on custom roms, is it significantly better than on stock?
HTC will release an official JB ROM soon (they have already announced it, so it is just a matter of time) as for CM10 and other AOSP JB ROMs, they are pretty fast and stable, but not that good when it comes to battery life, and camera quality.

On the latest Android 4.0.4 + Sense 4.1 the user experience and overall performance is pretty good, therefore the difference between that and AOSP JB ROMs is not significant

Also, would you recommend any other phones for heavy customization, overclocking, etc., other than the s3, one x, and nexus?

I find the CM10 UI significantly more responsive than stock Sense UI. But, there are bugs in CM10, you'd probably do well to wait until HTC releases their JB-based update, then CM10 will get fresh stuff too.

I have been running Slim Bean since it's release on the 21st and have found no fault with it whatsoever. This is after I moved from the Modaco Ir5 Vanilla (an ICS port).
You should keep track of this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1832891
Great way of keeping up with Rom releases thanks to ClydeB1!

[Q] Current Latest and Greatest Rom for Inc2

Hello everyone,
I'm new here and new to this scene, but familiar with hacking on other types of devices. My sis just upgraded her phone and gave me a Inc2. My first instinct was to hack it and so I ended up currently with a rooted S-off Inc2. My next issue is what Rom to use. I see so many out there and have had problems trying to install a couple. Since ther are so many, i know theres no clear cut "Latest and Greatest" but as i stand now, i have no clue where i should be looking. So I'm asking what u guys would consider latest and greatess. I'm really looking into going as high up in the OS as possible while also having the best stability with as much working as possible. Any Idea's?

What do you prefer? For ASOP, we have some very stable ICS CM9 ROM's and Stable CM10 Rom's. The CM10 ROMs don't have a working ffc camera or 720p camcorder, but everything else seems to work. For those who like sense, Nit's Sense 4 Viper Rom is quite nice. I typically change ROM's every two weeks, so i have tried quite a lot.
I vote for aeroevans CM10 or if you want ICS then Condemned Soul's Kangdemnation
Vivow using XDA Premium
Viperinc all da way
I'm so fresh you can suck my nits...

Well I'm not sure wether to go ASOP or Sense but from what i gather most ppl prefer ASOP, so I guess i would also. I generally would like to have everything working also.
Another thing thing would be that would i need to flash anything else besides the rom? Like kernels or anything?

Most of the op's have it spelled out exactly what to do , usually they include the kernel in the ROM
Btw : I think any of the still supported ROMs that you will find in the inc2 section are great I can't really quantify a ranking of them

Paranoid Android its a Phone/Tablet hybrid if you don't use the ffc or video that much it is my daily at the moment. "(11-4-2012)(JB)(CM10) Global 4.1.2 (4.2)" and "{10-25-2012}{Rom}{ICS} Official Global CM9" are pretty smooth running roms (I haven't had a chance to give build 3 of CM10 a try yet). "[ROM] [Port] Andromadus Mimicry 1.5 [CM9.1 Stable]" another very good ICS rom and very stable as well. Those are the ones I have been messing with the last couple of months. I think it is all in your tastes amigo. If you are a flashaholic like most of us I am sure you will try most of them.
ViperINC if you don't need BT audio. There are issues with the fact that the beats audio controls the BT audio and there is no output.

[Q] Where are all the ROMS??

Hey guys, i used to have a samsung galaxy s2 before my htc one, and there was so many ROMS to choose from that i had a different one almost everyday. I'm thinking there was so many ROMS because it's an older phone. I noticed that there are not that many ROMS for m8, the phone isn't all that new. Is it just not a popular phone? Do you think there will be more ROMS coming? I had LiquidSmooth on KitKat and i liked it however it was getting buggy. So i was on the hunt for a new ROM. Tried Pac-Rom (which i usually LOVE) however it wasn't what i was looking for. CM is too basic. The ROM needs to be perfect, i know that's not possible but i like to have a lot of customization ability. I'm now trying out Resurrection Remix on Lollipop. This is my first time with lollipop, not sure if i like it yet... but anyways do you guys think there will be more ROMS on the way??

Try ViperOneM8. It is a Sense based ROM with more customization options built in that any other M8 ROM.

I might but I HATE sense. That's one of the reasons why I rooted my phone was so I could make it look vanilla lol, but I'll give it a look. I hate all those ui skins like touchwiz and LGS whatever its called. I love nexus devices and that stock android look.

You should get nexus then. All these aosp roms they never work properly on HTC because they can't use proprietary drivers.
