Hello guys,
On Galaxy Note N7000, i was using the Dual Boot Script from @chuandinh. With this script:
There was 5 slots (3 on extsdcard, 2 on intsdcard) and of course one normal phone rom. so it was possible to flash 6 different roms. And the kernels were modded to support dual boot script. that is the basic introduction.
The details and the script examples are on the official topic of chuandinh: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1748588
I was wondering if there is a dev which can give us a support like @chuandinh did on N7000 devices. It was really so amazing to switch between totally different roms just in seconds.
P.S. I hope that I out this thread on the right Forum
I'd love dual boot too... I just got a Note 2 and gave my S3 to my wife^^
Only think I miss so far is dual booting!

Hi all,
I am in the process of trying to compile a dual boot kernel for our Note 2.
I am using the Source code from the Siyah Kernel from the S3 to get the dual boot feature.
Can someone please tell me What the Partition Layout is for the Note 2? as its different from the S3.
Or can someone tell me how I find out what the Partition layout is?
Cheers
Corey
So, I like forumxda always and love the custom roms here.
just needed to know if we are planning to have any custom roms / mods for S4 Mini i9192 ?
Unfortunately, there isn't an official implementation of dual sim hardware in custom roms.
Therefore, making custom roms for such phones, including the I9192, is quite a difficult task. I believe there are users who are trying to make a CyanogenMod for the I9192. You can look at the S4 Mini development forums
http://www.shendu.com/android/rom-10282.html looks like some kind of CM10.2 port. I'll try it (download speed is really slow) and post feedback here.

As far I know, you cant use both SIMS in any custom rom...
Nevermind not being able to use the second SIM. Flashing a ROM for the non-dual version in the dual version will likely brick your phone.
Among custom ROMs that work in 9192, this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2620621 is the only one I tested (and kept it).
Back in the HTC HD2 days I was able to dual boot (one ROM on the device and another on the SD card). Is dual boot possible on the Note 3? I'd love to try out some ROMs without the 100% commitment.

Well its early days for development. Wait a couple of months, till after development has really kicked off (loads of ROMs, kernels etc), and it should happen eventually. Look at the nexus 4, it got dual boot about six months after launch.
/agree
I am ALL ABOUT this idea. Android and Ubuntu
There is no dual boot at this time.
The note 2 can dual boot and I did have it set up that way. At least for a little while.
With my knowledge from the note 2 there are a couple of things that would have to be developed to make it happen. First we would need a kernel that can work with both Aosp and touchwiz (if planning on dual booting Aosp of course) and a custom recovery that would allow you to install both roms and switch between the 2... And we would need Aosp roms available in the first place, which are in the works but there is no eta and lack of updates on the progress.
If you/we wanted to dual boot 2 touchwiz roms we would only need the custom recovery. But what is the fun in that?
(keep in mind this is just my personal understanding, and I could be completely wrong)

This would very much interest me as I have bought the Note 3 and am planning on using Touchwiz as well as the CM 11 (Kit Kat) when they come out with a semi-stable version.

I guess Safestrap could me the toll that allows as to do dual booting, but looks like development is stuck.

We don't have a root option for the Verizon Note 4 and we don't have any roms for it yet.
Also the dev who gave us safestrap recovery isn't supporting it anymore. So if it doesn't work with Note 4, we may never have a recovery to flash roms with.
Hello and good day world
Coming from galaxy note 3 very long period of use ... and what help my device is a great light stock rom created by "rayman95".
Now I'm using SGN10+ SM-N975U1 ... since I got it and I'm looking in the roms for light minimal one ... so far I wasn't able to find that kind of rom ... kindly I'm seeking for your help on that request.
Thanks.
Up
Sorry
I really need an advice
If you have the SM~N975U1 variant you are out of luck with Roms. It cannot be boot loader unlocked so it cannot be rooted or have a custom recovery. The only versions that can boot loader unlocked are the international exynos chipset ones and the Chinese variant with the snapdragon processors.
Interesting that's kinda strange
