Just picked this up today. Nice handset. Is it possible to root this device and install a custom ROM. Only seen the forum for the Telstra Australian version.
Im running the stock firmware, thats is:
Android 4.0.4
Software number 2.34.61.2
You have the dual-core one xl ....then you are in the wrong forum this is the quad-core international HTC one x forum
Check the specifics and be really carefull flashing stuff from here, a brick could be just around the corner !
That's why i'm posting ... it's not clear whether the other forum is exclusively for AT&T, Rogers and Telstra. Not touching anything till I find a ROM or process that supports it.

Ah Nice ! Can you compare the specifics from the at&t and your phone via google somewhere maybe ???
They should be different
International One XL has 32GB and the AT&T One XL only 16GB

As mentioned, this is the wrong forum. The One XL forum is for the One XL (evita).

OKAY, so I was shipped 2 models, wasn't sure why, anyways Rogers wanted me to ship one of them back, I did so. All is well for about 2 weeks, now I've been trying to root it, and I managed to get to the bootloader and some other things, but while I went into recovery it just said 'This build is for developement purposes only Do not distribute outside of HTC without HTC's written permission. Failure to comply may result in legal action' and it wouldn't start up into the recovery to get to superuser or whatever. It just had a logo with that on it... Is this my cells problem or could it be a problem with the recovery? Thank you in advance!

So I noticed that a lot of ROM threads here specifically list Endeavor devices. Does that mean if I have a S720e Evita I'm screwed and can't unlock and install custom ROMs?
No, it means that you've got a One XL (or what AT&T are calling their 'One X'), so you'll need to get your ROMs, rooting instructions and the like from those subforums: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1538
(The Endeavor is the Tegra 3 ("international") One X, the Evita is the S4 model, ROMs/recoveries/etc from one won't work on the other).
Actually, mine is the tegra 3 international version. It says s720e on the back though.
Bought it in sweden and even in the HW infi screen it says its the quadcore ver.

Pass then, because 'evita' was the codename for the snapdragon S4 model.

As I somewhere saw, s720e - evita, s720t - endeavor. Looks like that was a wrong info.

I need to check that. But so far I'm convinced it's the Int ver. I mean, it has to be right? Unless I stumbled on some weird prototype haha.

You've got an Endeavor (i.e. Tegra 3 One X), as your packaging would suggest. I would be extremely surprised if the OP's doesn't say the same. I'm not sure where the idea that it was an Evita came from, but the Evita is a different phone.
I am looking for cm for my htc one x (at&t) but am confused since there is multiple htc one x's and I dont want to install the wrong one. I just want some one to go ahead and let me know which one it is for my one x. Thank you
P.S. I did look around and used the search couldn't find anything, and I am new to htc's but not new to rooting and cwm and things of that nature.
Thank you for your help :cyclops:

None of these here in these forums. They are for One X international version. You should check the HOX AT&T forums.

Found it Thanks.
HTC m10, or just "10".
I am surprised to see no mention of the m10 on the forum yet. Do we foresee it to have as large of a following as the m8 and m9 had possibly?
I've been with HTC since original EVO 4G. What other premium Android phone have former HTC users moved on to? One Plus? Elephone?
The M8 made its name for being so developer-friendly (there was a Google Play Edition) and being a quality piece of hardware. The M9 rode that wave of popularity, but failed to deliver on the developer side and raised doubt as to the hardware quality (the Snapdragon 810 heating issue).
The M10 could be a great phone, but it has some lost ground to recover.

No it is not. I just clicked on it.
For some reason it only works in a browser - the XDA app returns an error about a bad link.
