[Q] Mic issue??? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone is having an issue with their microphone or playing back recorded audio? We went to a race the other night with the kids and they had those jet cars which I know are way too loud but we go every year and last year I recorded around 12 runs on my Epic 4g with no audio problem, and my wife recorded the same runs this year on her GS3 with no issues but my note was distorted. All of the high frequency sounds seem fine but the lowe end is just not there and somewhat muffled. I plan to root soon but wonder if I should have the microphone looked at or replaced beforehand???

Answered my own question, I think?
Well, after digging around here for a few minutes, I found a couple threads about a High Pass Filter on the GS3 and Note 2 which seems to be the culprit. It appears that you can disable it on the GS3 but not on the Note??? I will keep digging and post back if I find a solution. Thanks!

Please let me know if you find any info!

Occasional Crackling

I've noticed that I seem to get some occasional crackling on my internal earpiece when talking to my girlfriend who has a Hero. I've listened very carefully for this in other calls and haven't seemed to hear it. So my question is what could be causing this? Could it just be an occasional faulty call connection? I'm paranoid because when I first got my Hero I had to return it do to a faulty earpiece and am hoping this isn't the case with my Evo. Lol, it's probably no big deal just wanted to see if anyone else has ever noticed this.
No help really, but it must be a wife thing as I get the same thing when talking to my wife (she has a Samsung Captivate), and no one else. I find if I turn down the volume a couple of clicks the crackle goes away.
It only happens when talking to your g/f? LOL I wont answer heheheheh

[Q] What is wrong with audio over bluetooth?

I went from a Vibrant to the Galaxy s ii. The vibrant also had this issue, but a single ROM from all the ROMs I flashed in my day was the solution to this problem.
I connect my phone over bluetooth to my car. Phone functions work great, audio playback functions work splendid, and the S ii actually shows more information on the little display in my car. So far, I've only been using Pandora.
Now here is my issue: the audio cracks I'm guessing at some frequencies. Some songs have it worse than others. Most songs just have a moderate amount, and I've been getting used to it, but I still want to fix it somehow if it was fixed in one of the ROMs I had on my vibrant. This cracking was really pronounced in the song Lotus Flower Bomb by Wale. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=ZKvhkcJDbzY#t=137s
The part where Miguel goes "we living in a fantasy, i feel it when you dance with me"
He extends the words "fantasy" and "dance." I almost went deaf at the cracking that occured. It just sounded like something digitally was wrong. WTF is wrong with the bluetooth?
I will admit I haven't tried playing my own MP3s over bluetooth yet, but that's next on my list I've just been real busy.

[Q] Severe Video Recording Issue on 2 Devices - Am I just unlucky?

Looking for some advice. I have already swapped out one Galaxy Note II due to an issue with video recording. Every video taken with the phone had horrendous speaker cracking and popping during playback. The speakers were fine for music and other videos, but videos taken on the device suffered from terrible interference. I had the device replaced and received my new one yesterday. Opened it up, took a video and get exactly the same issue. From what I have seen on Youtube, the audio quality from this phone should actually be really good, and I haven't read a single report of the issue I have now experienced on two devices anywhere online. Before I go down the route of exchanging for a third device, does anyone have any suggestions as to how I might be able to remedy this? I have linked to a video I uploaded taken in a silent room where the popping noise is clearly audible.
What do you all suggest? Anything I can try or have I really been unlucky enough to own the only 2 devices with this hardware fault?

Just a bump to keep this on the front page until it's had at least a couple of responses.
I do think I read about this "pop" in Video recordings elsewhere in a review I think? They mentioned this being an issue with the GS3 as well I believe. I will try to find the article again and post it if I can.
Just did a test with mine and no popping what so ever.
Same here. No popping, at least in a couple of short (2-3 minutes in length) 1080p videos I recorded. (They're the only videos I've recorded using my SGN II so far.)
I'm having the same problem with my Note II LTE (GT-N7105). Did you find a solution to the problem or is it just a case of getting the phone replaced?

Speaker Problem

Recently I have been experiencing weird sounds from my speaker on my new g4. The sound comes through, but it sounds exactly like one of those severe weather interruptions on the television or the radio. It's loud, lots of static, and tinny. But it plays the sound from the video, so I can still hear what someone is saying.. just with this added 'effect'. It always happens on snapchat or Instagram and when I go to YouTube or spotify it sounds fine (it might happen on other apps but this is where I noticed it so far). At first I thought maybe I screwed up my speaker somehow like water damage. But if I did that wouldn't the sound be weird in any app? Is this some sort of known bug or software issue? Is anyone else experiencing this problem, and if so is there any way to fix it? I'm using the Verizon model VS98610B
If your speaker was bad, you would get bad audio with every app. I'm guessing Snapchat and Instagram have low quality audio compared to You Tube and Spotify.

earpiece sparked issues
I'm on my third LG g4. The first G4 I got, I set up and then checked my voicemail following morning to find the earpiece speaker making a tinny crackleing unrecognizable sound. I promptly return the phone to the store where I purchased it to get a g4. I got that one home and set it up on the speaker workeds great! In just a few days I realized that the second phone had the screen glitch that so many others are talking about so within seven days I returned it. I'm now on my third LG g4. I'm probably just beyond three weeks of having this phone and just now my speaker has gone out. Or at least its doing the same thing that it was doing. I can use speaker phone just fine and YouTube and all the other apps work great but the earpiece speaker has twice failed me. This phone has been in a case under a glass screen protector since day one and has never been dropped or damaged in any way. I noticed about 2 days ago that people haven't been able to hear me when I've been on the phone with it. I've been using LG phone for the last 15 years and really haven't had any complaints. I expected the best from this phone and aside from these issues I have gotten what I expected. I got the same phone for my wife at the same time. She is still on her very first g4 with no problems at all. I'm a bit taken aback by this whole thing. I'll be calling today to see what the dealers will do for me and if not I'll be getting a hold of LG to get it under warranty.
Another user and I had similar issues, in another thread:
[Problem] In-Ear Volume Cuts Off?
In my case, rebooting would at least temporarily fix the issue. Does that help with your phone?

M8 top speaker not working

Just got my brand new m8 and after using it a bit I noticed the top boomsound speaker wasnt working. Tried some basic troubleshooting and using it in different apps in no avail. I can hear someone in a phone call no problem though, but if I use the speakerphone or use the phone to play music or something like that it doesn't seem to be working (or maybe be extremely quiet??).
I haven't tweaked the phone yet in any way, completely stock Android 6.0 that it shipped with.
Edit: The top speaker works but it is much, much more quiet than the bottom.
I'm really hoping this is a software issue, any way I can test that out?
Bump. Can someone running marshmallow please test this out real quick for me? Play this on max volume and see if left is considerably quieter than right - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTvJoYnpeRQ
Thanks guys! Gotta love that over a hundred people that saw this and couldn't take about 30 seconds out of their day to try this out for me
Anyways I'm probably sending the phone back. Gonna have to go back to struggling with my old HTC One S while I wait for a replacement.
Actually I'm having a very similar issue.
My phone had perfect speakers since I got it but recently it fell face down and the display went boom! No cracks anywhere though.
The service guys replaced the display but now the top speaker had a very loud crackling, at the max volume level only, when playing deep bass, still loud.
So I take it to service again and this time they made the top speaker very very quiet but the crackling was gone.
I asked them to fix it but they said it's always been like that.
After struggling for some 15 minutes they agreed to look into it. They tell me that they've replaced the top speaker module but the sound is still low.
I can even test the issue using the help app, hardware diagnostics.
Now I don't know how to get it fixed.
