Does Google Voice work on KF? If so, what is the step to get it working?
TIA.

Do you want to know if the app that lets you text for free works on the KF?
Or are you wanting to know if apps like GrooVe IP works?
the actual Google Voice app works just fine on the KF, and the widgets work as well.
However, depending on if you ROMmed (is that spelled correctly?) your device and are running 4.0.3, 4.1,4.2 Android platforms, chances are that your ROM doesn't take advantage of the TRRS input that the KF allows.
There is good news, though. If you are running stock software (and possibly MoDaCo), it should work. I know that there were recording apps that could use the mic input well, so I would imagine that GrooVe IP and others work.
Anyone running ICS or Jellybean ROMs that have the mic work?
I think that that is what this guy is after...

Why don't you read up on Hash's kernal progress in regards to the mic input

1.) are you talking to me?
2.) what should I look for? twa_priv has told me that Hash is continuing work on it. I have looked for it here and google with no success.
3.) what do you know about the kernel fix?

Actually I was saying that to the original poster....I thought that if they read up on it then it would answer their own question...I was trying to steer them in the right direction....I only know what was posted about the kernal.....if they didnt want to know about mic input than I wasted space

Thank you for your response.
Yes, I can read. But I am confused and that's why I posted the question here. Hashcode stated it is not yet fully working with recording. I would like to use it with voip app not recording app. Besides, I saw sb hinted that it is working with GrovveIP. A straight answer of "No" or "Not yet" is more appreciated here, but thanks any way.

Thanks but that is not it. Following your directions only show me:
1. USB debugging (Debug mode when USB is connected) [ ]
2. Allow mock locations (Allow mock locations) [ ]
Neither of these have anything to do with keeping the screen on indefinately while connected to a USB source.
Also please don't start flaming. Gazment has a valid point.

I should also note, mine is T-Mobile USA non-rooted.

I think it may be dependent upon which custom ROM you are running after root. My phone is rooted and running a custom ROM/kernel and under Development the only options I see are:
USB Debugging
Allow Mock Locations

[Q] Is this Fine If I make a CM9 ROM?

Right I've been Disscusing with ChaisFirzen About porting his ARC CM9 Build to the PLAY which I've done But can I post it?
In android Development
Depends if this is a port or a one-line change in the build.prop, like the recent 'ports' we've had
Porting Chaos's ICS ROM he asked me to do Yesterday Because he needed help in his thread, Atarii is there a CM9 Wi-fi Fix?

Yes, depends on the issue. It could be the build.prop persist.wifienabled=1 or it could be that you need to add the correct wifi modules for the kernel you're using
Atarii I have Build.prop as wifienabled=blank
Theres No wifi Modules for FXP'S kernel or is there?
Thanks For the help.
The problem is, "ChaisFirzen" (ChaosFirZen) has been caught out posting up other people's work, making extremely minor changes, and then calling it his own. When he was called out on it, he pretends to be remorseful, but then tries it another way. He is more of a copycat than a dev. He claims to be just this innocent little 12 year old that doesn't know any better, but how many times does someone have to be told this is wrong before that excuse comes up bogus?
If I were you, I would steer clear of him before you get some of his "reputation" smeared all over you.
I'm with netizenmt on this one, you pair up with him and NOBODY on the play threads will take you serious. I got his thread shut down last time and he was reported for stealing. Watch who you pair with, that's all I'll say.

BBC Olympics App APK

Has anyone been able to install the new BBC Olympics app in the US? The market won't allow me to download it because it hasn't been released in the US, but I figure I could side load it if someone could get a hold of the apk...

It's listed in the Australian market, but it won't let me download it saying my device is incompatible. I think it's because I'm running a Jelly Bean ROM. Is someone please able to provide the apk?

Gutted this app isn't supported on Jelly Bean. Hopefully someone can get a working version for the UK and maybe the rest of the world! Come on devs, work your magic

Me too. I'm writing to Point of View to give them some hassle.
Awesomesauce. The really strange thing is that while the Play Store won't even let you install the app if you're in the US, the app itself appears to be geographically aware -- I see a front page section called "Team USA". I can't imagine that's hard coded.
I'm in the UK and want to sideload this on my gnex, anyone have the apk still? Link has gone in the other post now
It's gone because it is considered warez. No more discussion on this is allowed.

I know that the new Moto-X phone will be "always listening" and Google Now can be activated anytime by voice. However, there is yet to be solid confirmation this will be rolled out to other devices. One reason most devices do not use this is probably the strain it puts on the battery, always having to process audio.
A lot of threads seem to discuss this - how to achieve this task. However, it appears the general consensus is that the battery would drain to quickly.
I'm sorry this didn't really answer your question, maybe in the coming weeks, once people get their hands on the Moto-X, the hardware to implement the hands free Google Now will be studied in an attempt to replicate.
EDIT: I found something! I found an app in the play store called Open Mic+. It is really new and seems to accomplish the task you are talking about. The performance seems to be iffy for now, as its still in beta, and reviewers say it drains battery, but it could be really cool.
There's an app on Google play store called Google Mic +, it's the only one I could find. Works pretty well actually.
