I am looking to maximize my Epic Touch...I am rooted..and would like a rom that would allow 5 icons in the dock while sticking with TW launcher...also would like to speed up if possible...not sure what I am looking for. Would just love to get the most out of root access..any help would be great!
Look in theme section for tw 4.5 that is only tw that allows 5 in dock

k...def will check that out...what I am really looking for is the TW 4.5 with CRT animations, No-Ciq..which I may already have..not sure! and anything else thats cool!
just run the touchwiz launcher over any of the roms in the development section.
i personally like starburst but viper's is very good also.
that way you get all the goodies without having to add each individual component manually. just read the orig posts for each rom check out thier features and follow the instructions very easy.
then you can even throw a theme on top to change the look to your liking just make sure it's compatible with your rom.

Thank You!! I have rooted my phones before...but I still feel very insecure when it comes to some of this stuff. Not sure exactly what to do when it comes to adding themes and where I would get the tw launcher to put back on or if it would still be on!!
Thats exactly what I want tho..is all the goodies!!
both the roms and themes are easily installable
mostly it's a matter of booting into recovery (volume up + power)
and clicking install zip from sd card.
if you use your phone to download the file you don't even need a computer for the process.
as for touchwiz backing it up can be done a couple ways
any of these would work
1> before you delete it just make a backup in recovery
2> copy the file somewhere safe using a file explorer (i use es file explorer from market is free and allows root access)
3>just re-install the rom you downloaded it'll come with the launcher.
4>the orig touchwiz is posted on the forums and could be installed the same way.
most everything you could hope for comes with a decent set of instructions just follow them and you'll have no problems

no problem. some of this could be a little confusing at first glance but it's actually quite simple once you get used to it.
Android 4.2 keyboard with gesture, its as good as swipe.
http://m.pocketnow.com/2012/10/30/android-4-2-stock-keyboard-now-available-for-download-unofficially
After installing go to languages and input and check Android Key board
Hope it will be useful.
Download and Install
Now, getting it on your device is going to be easy for some of you, and less easy for others. You'll need to be on Android 4.0+, to start.
If you're on a phone with a UI overlay that has the stock keyboard disabled (eg, Samsung TouchWiz, HTC Sense, Sony), you can just download the apk below- no root required. To install, make sure you have "install from unknown sources" enabled in your phone settings, and after installation, go into your phone's keyboard settings and enable "Android keyboard." Then, you can switch to the new keyboard. This may also work on some "stock" Android custom ROMs - but it will not work on stock Android builds distributed by Google.
Get the apk here: http://d-h.st/XuS
If the apk doesn't work, you're running a phone that is either A.) running stock Android (as in, AOSP), or B.) running software that has the stock Android keyboard as an option, you'll need to download this ZIP file, and flash it in recovery. That also means you're going to need root. as you'll be writing to /system/apps. Before you do, though, either back up the stock keyboard (if you don't know how, you probably shouldn't be doing this) or create a full image backup, just in case. Here's that ZIP file:

I had the original optimus g on att and had been running a leaked version of 4.1.2 and was able to get an aosp version of the mms.apk to run (didnt like the one on the rom, no emojis haha) and since this is running 4.1.2, would it be possible to swap in that same mms app if i root the decive? If anyone braver than me wants to give it a try i still have the mms.apk i had on my OG. Or possibly root, install tb and then freeze stock/restore backup of mms.apk? If anyone has done this already then awesome, if not maybe ill do it this weekend (became a bit of a flash-o-holic with my OG so i cant wait for someone to tear into this and get some nice roms loaded

You can install the MMS.apk as a user app and not a system app. Makes it quite a bit less risky. If it causes problems you can just uninstall it.
whenever i try to install it it keeps saying its a system app and then fails cuz it says there is an app with a conflicting signature. is there a special way to install it as a user app instead of system or does it all depend on the apk?
I was messing around with this the day after I first got mine. Since they have the same signature, you can't install both at the same time. The only way that I would suggest doing this safely is to be rooted, set the system\app folder to read/write, rename the UniMessagebin.apk to UniMessagebin.apk.bak, then rename UniMessagebin.odex to UniMessagebin.odex.bak. Copy your mms.apk file to the system\app folder and rename it to UniMessagebin.apk then set permission on it to -rw-r--r--. Then set you system\app folder permissions back to rwxr-xr-x.
You should NOT need to reboot at this point. If the apk is valid and will work the the current system framework, you should see it show up in your app drawer. I was able to get the AOSP 4.1.2 mms.apk to run ok on my phone, but MMS messages weren't working (apparently a known issue with 4.1.2 AOSP). If the apk force closes or doesn't show up as valid, go and delete it from your system\app folder and rename the other two files back to their original names before you attempt to reboot.
Good luck!
i actually found one that worked but didnt have the popup like i had on my original og and the stock one on pro has it...plus the notifications didnt work at all...only reason i knew i had msgs waiting was cuz i happened to open the app...thankfully gf knows wat a geek i am and believed me when i told her haha. back to hunting i guess...thanks for all the help
and then i came across this one...so far has everything i wanted and a dark theme too http://bit.ly/125siHO lets see if notifications work...sux being the only night owl i know haha
I decided to update the optimized stock rom that @negamann303 made and some of you are a fan of.
Features:
Based on NWD1.171016.002 - Wear 2.0 - Android 7.1.1
Stock kernel
Optional root/busybox package that will install root and busybox 1.28.1
Same build.prop additions as NegaLite Huawei-Rom NX 2 v 1.2 (including ADB debugging pre-enabled)
Removed Google Fit from /system (download from Play Store if you want it)
Removed the tutorial that appears when you enable wrist gestures (but not the tutorial that happens when you first set up the watch)
Changelog:
v 0.2
Actually installs stock kernel instead of the rooted kernel I accidentally put in v 0.1
v 0.1:
Initial release
Install Instructions:
Factory reset in TWRP (optional, but recommended)
Flash rom
Flash root/busybox package if desired
Note: The first boot takes a looooong time.
Note 2: The SuperSu/Busybox package tells you that it's installing an older version of busybox than what I listed. Don't pay attention to it. If you want to make sure I'm honest just do adb shell, then su, then busybox.
Download v 0.2: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=962187416754467969
Download SuperSu and Busybox package: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=962187416754466211
Download Busybox only package for those who want to use Magisk (personally, I don't see the point of using Magisk on a watch that doesn't need to pass safetynet, but to each their own): https://github.com/yashdsaraf/bb-bot/releases/tag/v1.28.1-YDS-201803061707 (flash the universal zip)
Requests are welcome. Keep in mind that since Android Wear is not fully open source, our power to change it is relatively limited.

It's really nice to see the new rom for HW1!
If this rom can have lower brightness for ambient mode, I would love to test the rom!!!
Amazing rom
Thanks for the effort.
I will give it a try when I find some free time.

According to the quick Google search that I did, it looks like this is controlled by the Android system framework. It's not as easy as changing a build property or telling settings to do something different. So unfortunately it doesn't look like it's something I can change, but if anyone finds any other information on it I'll definitely take a look.
Thanks a lot for continuing his work. Will be testing out on my watch soon.

Thank you very much for doing this rom, look forward to using my watch again as I haven't used it in months.
It seems this build still installs the "rooted kernel" (that contains SuperSU binaries and configurations), which in turn blocks installation of Magisk (same as the original NX rom), as the two root solutions aren't compatible.
Guess I'll have to work around it using the hard way for now. It's better if the kernel can be made rootless so one can choose to install either SuperSU or Magisk.
EDIT: Got everything working: ROM, Magisk, and Busybox (installed using this one).
EDIT 2: It seems the Daily Tracking is working on this version, as on Explorer watch face the steps and kcals are properly registered just like on Android Wear 1.5.

I didn't get the source. In fact I didn't do much at all. I took the stock rom, put negamann's build.prop tweaks in it and put together the optional root package. That's about it, because that's about all that was done to negamann's original rom.
When you say the first boot takes a long time, how long are we talking? I'm testing something with my watch, so I already expect it to fail. I want to know so that I don't wait for hours when it should have been done in 20 minutes, which would mean my test has failed.

This is correct! That is why I typically spent more time on the kernel.

Definitely not hours. 5-10 minutes I'd say.
Does someone want to try using the negamann kernel with this rom? It might work. I'm not sure and I don't feel like testing it.

Hey,
I tried it, it doesn't work, it just hangs on the Android logo, waited over an hour, rebooted, nothing. Will not boot.
Edit: this is what I tried: negalite_kernel_HW_dffc4c0-2.0.zip - 6/7/2017
Edit 2: Just tried again, this time I cleared cache/dalvik and even so its just been on the Android animation for over an hour, and the watch has become really hot...Going to go back to stock kernal.
