Cases with magnets - Galaxy Note 10.1 Accessories

Hi I ordered a case online for my note 10.1 and after a bit of googling I saw that some had problems after using their case with a magnetic fastener that areas of the screen the s pen wouldn't respond to.
Just want to know if this is true and will my new note be safe if I use this case or should I change it for one without a magnet?
Think I'll remove the magnets and add a button or strap just to be safe

I have the official Samsung case for the note 10.1. It has magnets in it. Never had any problems, bought the case day 1 with the Note. Doubt Samsung would put magnets in the official case if they messed with the screen, just a thought.

No I got a case from Ebay and it has magnets I had the same doubt but it does not effect the device in anyway the SPEN is not affected in even the minutes way. The magnet are very low powered onces anyways

I did some searching and found that people with the original note phone had problems with the middle of the phone not recognizing the pen http://www.esphoneblog.com/2012/01/28/problem-with-samsung-galaxy-notes-s-pen/ and
http://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-note-2/216474-cases-magnets-s-pen.html
I found more like this with problems with magnets on cases can't be just a coincidence.

Going to remove mine just to be sure when and if my case eventually gets here from amazon
If you take yours out eventually your note will go back to normal.

Galaxy Nexus Waterproof case?

Does one exist?
I haven't done any extensive search but I looked the other day and stopped at some kind of plastic pouch.
So I don't think so. I'd try eBay, maybe some Korean or Chinese seller has one.

I wouldn't trust a ziploc bag to last anytime submerged. MAYBE against splashes, but I'd rather use something more reliable.

While those are. Both nice, unless u are using PGM which needs a comvatibke corner. How would u turn the screen on and off. And the aqua skin is almost identical to the iottie, except u only get one at 1/3 the price

I personally have taken my phone under water using a generic water proof bag. They were 3 for $10 USD. the only problem I had was if the water put pressure on the screen it would go crazy..... I just added more air to it and held it so I had to push through the air to select what I want. Ie picture or video

Here's a short video I took so u can get an idea of how it is underwater also.

Well but the skin is definetely not made for a daily use i reckon, I mean to make sure it is 100% waterproof you always have to use a new strip of sealing tape after charging, right?
Would be good to have a modified battery cover for contactless charging. I´m starting to work on a diving base for the next 2 months, and would be good to have something covering my GNx from water.
I wish lifeproof would make a case for us.

I remember reading somewhere, probably here, that there just isn't enough demand for it

This is true. The lifeproof case cost over a million USD to develop, and they lucked out that the iPhone 4s was compatible. Not nearly enough people own enough Gnex to make it profitable, plus the GSM would need a completely different case from the LTE. FInally, my own experience with the case sucked. You can only take it off/on 50x before it breaks (not waterproof) and it destroys sensitivity. It's something you only want when theres water around, but you can only take it off/on 50x which sucks. Also, you have to test it every time before you submerge it. The waterproof bags are way better IMO.

Does your note 2 have a squeaky back?

Mine does, on the left hand side of the plastic back, it squeaks when I press it. That's not so awesome about this phone.

No squeak here. It would have to be a mighty huge squeak for me to give up multi tasking and go back to the One X. (Never mind multi view)
I found its easier to put the back on if you start with slotting the bottom parts in first. Try putting the back on again.

All is well here on my Marble White version.

The back will creak if you've removed the cover too forcefully and tweaked the little hooks that hold it in place
My back clicks - especially when I press the Home button... drives me nuts.

Mine currently does atm, but it didn't start off that way, it was fine when I first got it, but after a number of battery pulls and constantly taking the back off enough times it has changed to being like that. This happened on my S3 as well, but I simply bought a new back cover and problem went away. The new one on my S3 hasn't changed to being like that and I've pulled it off many times as well, might just be a minor manufacturing defect thing (I noticed the tiny clips on the backing that click into our phones are small and sometimes look a little warped from being mass produced), You can order replacement backings, as well as different custom colors off ebay, or just the official OEM ones from Samsung. My carrier's store sells replacement S3 backings so once they get replacement Note II backings in ill just get a new one to stop that from happening, they are cheap so no biggie.
I just ordered a metal back for $6.75 at ebay. Hopefully it will be good . The stock plastic back is way too thin, don't know why Sammy was so cheap on its flagship.

Yep I have a squeaky back too but it doesn't bother me that much as I am getting a case soon. In other words no big deal

Well I solve the problem by sticking some paper into the inside of the back where the squeaky sound comes from.

for those buying aftermakret backs off Ebay be warned that most don't have the NFC chip in them. The OEM battery cover has it (2 gold contacts upper third of the case).
Mine squeaks around the volume rocker. Grey phone. Havent checked my wife's which is white.

Cases

I have the battery cover that has the flap that covers the front of the phone and was wondering if there's a case to go over the battery cover part to protect the back of the phone.

Was looking for the same solution myself.... Haven't found it yet, either....
Maybe taking a clear TPU case and trimming it so there's still some corner protection on the hinge side....
My bad thought you wanted a case that covers the back and has a flap.

It could be done with an original samsung case, but you need to cut the left side to accomodate the flip. This ahs been done with the Note 2...

Leather case?

I am also looking for this kind of leather case.
However it is only an option for my when the lid has a built-in magnet for waking the device.
Until today I wasn't lucky. Every seller, that I contacted wrote back, that this cases have no magnet for waking. :/
That looks pretty good. I'm just waiting for a flip case that has both sleep/wake function and a notification light cut out.

I do think so.
However I am not gonna pay such an amount for a "piece of (maybe artificial?) leather", when I can have nearly the same for under 10€.
Furthermore I can't even buy hardware over Google Play in my country. (Austria)
Blehhh that sucks bro

Case for wireless charging back?

Hey guys, first post here...
Despite being described as the same size as the original back, the Samsung wireless charging back is not even close. Now my otterbox doesn't fit, my tech21 doesn't fit... And it's a struggle to get my Bodyglove shocksuit to fit and just feels awkward.
Any suggestions on a case that will work with this? I love not having a case on it but am horrified at the possibilities that can come from having no case...
Thanks in advance!

I returned my wireless-charging back plate and got one of these instead:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GV0Q78M/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
works flawlessly with the stock back cover, and then in my Seidio Surface kickstand case.
I use the same thing edouble312 posted and I use it in a Spigen Neo Hybrid case. I leave the original back cover off the phone so that the bump caused by the charger isn't so noticeable.
There are whole threads on wireless charging in the Note 3 accessories threads.
And that works with the Samsung official pad yes? Just starting to dabble into the wireless thing...
