In this case i can wipe bat stats until i die... the battery "expanded its volume" physically... and charge discharge is around 10-20 mins . So i just flash with odin standard rom?
Gio can enter in recovery with key combination ?
Gio boots into recovery if you turn him on with this combination:
Home button + Power button

sorry about the OT, but wouldnt be better 122-800 instead 245-800?
Just flash the stock ROM using odin, then into the recovery, wipe data/factory reset

1.go to recovery
2.wipe data/factory reset
3.remove your sim and sd card
4.Flash any stock rom using Odin downloader and wait until it done!
5.don't insert sim and sd card yet!,go to the "phone" and dial this number *2767*3855# and then it reboots automatically and done!
sorry dude, but your battery is no longer with you, its dead. Mine was too, just bought it a day ago.
Using cm 7.2 myself and only because of it my battery swelled like yours too.
Before that stock was working charm.

Hi,
Two nights ago my wonder became very slow and task killing, unlike usual, didnt help. So i decided to take deeper action and using zedbox, i chose system programs (via root) and ended almost all the tasks (system and non system). I had done this before and i didnt have any problems but, this time the system started rebooting. It keeps rebooting as soon as i stop using it or make a call, so i literally cannot keep it on; it is Cycle Rebooting.
What do i do?
Thanks in advance
You might have accidentally removed or changed a certain periodic settings.
Certain programs or processes tends to run not at all times but at certain time and month only.
Try to wipe dalvik and cache. Then reflash your ROM and gapps(if needed). (this is if you're using Custom ROM's)
If it is stock ROM. Simply do a restore using ODIN.
Then use seeders in your device to reduce lag.

If you're using CM9 based or CM10 based. Just reflash it and wipe dalvik and cache.
If you're using Stock GB ROM (original samsung) restore using ODIN.
Seeders can be found in the General Section of Galaxy W.

well i guess i can say the prblm is solved. This is what i did, if you have a better opinion state it here so others can use if need be in the future:
I took out the battery bcuz there was no other way to turn off the phone, then i went into stock recovery, deleted cache partition and did a factory restore... and now im back with a new stock rom!... well im gonna have to install everything once again...
guys... remember! Never touch smth unless you know what ur doing and ALWAYS backup... sigh. Thanks for the help everyone

Have you made a nandroid backup in CWM?
If so you can reboot back into recovery by long pressing the power button + volume up and home button and then restore your backup

I don't use CWM, I use TWRP, but if there isn't an option to restore from that menu, then you probably don't have a backup.
You sure you're using the right version of the kernel? and you wiped cache and dalvik after flashing the new rom?

I haven't used the redpill kernel, I'm actually an lte version, but check if there are Samsung and Aosp based versions of the kernel. And if so are you using the right one.
Download the aosp redpill. Push it to phone via adb. Then flash it and do a factory reset.

Redpill kernel isn't yet compatible with newer cm based roms because it doesn't have Mali r3p1 driver support yet.

I was using my GW normally, but my battery ended, so I putted on charge and turned on, but I wasn't able to do it. He stucks at boot before the system starts. I'm able to go to CWM and Download mode. I already tried to wipe cache and dalvik, but no progress.
I didn't do anything to soft brick him. I was listening to music, only.
I'm using CM9 eol + Honeyx Kernel + TouchWiz mods.
Should I try flash the CM9 eol + gapps, without any wipe?
Help me and thanks for the advance.

do full wipe ( format your system)
It isn't really a soft brick if you can go to CWM. Either you try to do a full wipe, otherwise flash back stock rom via Odin.

I feel as if I'm the only one with horrible battery life. On average my battery lasts around 8 hours and that's if I check up on it once in a while. I was at 41% charge and I watched a 4 minute youtube video and my battery dropped to 33%. My phone was rooted but that was it, I don't have any knowledge on roms or anything. Can anyone else recommend what to do with my phone? I don't want to sacrifice usability but I really need a longer lasting battery. Are there any ROMS I can download, or kernels, basically anything to help out.
Try out the infamous 2.0 kernel, can grab it from the infamous rom i believe.
its known to give really good battery life. also kts kernel with good set up can also give good battey life.
can also download betterbatterystats and see what is draining your app. try disabling sync and look at how many accounts are synching...all those are factors in battery drains.

Okay, I need to root my phone real quick. I'm going to download the infamous 2.0 kernel, and I'll try to find where I can download a kts kernel, do you have a link to this kernel? Also how do I install kernels . Thank you. Is there any rom for me to download?
You flash kernels like anything else. I'd suggest cwm paired with ROM manager.

Before you flash ANYTHING you should ALWAYS do a nandroid backup. This backs up what your currently running and if you get in a pinch you can always restore your nandroi d backup. Never install anything without doing your backup first. You will be very glad you have that backup at times. To flash a rom or kernel you must first be rooted. Then your steps are first do your nandroid backup then go into recovery by pressing volume up power and home button. This will take you to your custom recovery that you installed after rooting. Then you wipe data factory reset then wipe cash and dalvik now you won't have a system and you can cleanly install your rom. You will choose zip from sd card.scroll through and find the rom you placed on the root of your sd card. Now install then reboot. That's it. If there is any issue with the rom you can restore your backup the same way but you would wipe then press restore backup and choose the backup you wish to restore. Hope this helps. But read read and read again. Do not make any changes to your device until your comfortable and have read and understood the processes thoroughly!!!

Yes you can download and install other Kernels as long as they are compatible with your rom. For example, if you have the Infamous Rom installed which is TW (TouchWiz) based as opposed to AOSP/CM based, you can install compatible TW kernels. I'd recommend looking into the KT-SGS4 Kernel at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2393708.
Check out the thread started by skipjacks called "insanely better battery life when idle." It will help you get tremendous improvements in battery while you are not using the screen.

Its true. It will help. But keep in mind you have to sacrifice some features to achieve it. Its a great solution for some, a horrible solution for others.

I installed Infamous rom yesterday and in total i got 6 hours and 30 minutes of screen time... this was a huge improvement, i was using it heavily the entire time, i was watching video after video... I dont know if its the best rom out there but it works for me.
Edit- Just installed the KTS kernel, hopefully this will further extend my battery life.

Okay so basically I spilt a little bit of water in my charger port while i was charging it, and now it has a burnt smell and won't charge in anything. Its not fixable from anyone but samsung, and I'm not prepared to completely take apart my phone to fix it. It needs to go to a samsung service center. BUT:
1. My phone is running Rox's cm10.2, so they won't accept it
2. I can't use any charging wire as none of them work, so I can't use odin from my desktop
3. I only have limited battery (although I have a mate that has an Ace II so I can swap his battery)
I need a method to get my phone to stock, then reset the flash counter, without using my computer (so basically all on my phone).
I don't know if there is a way, but many thanks in advance if there is!

Possible to

I have a mg2 CWM backup maybe I can upload for you. But if low on battery you'll have to look for your mate. AFAIK our phone supports triangle away(only JB)

I restored this backup via cmw but doesn't work properly, I.E. wont connect to wifi, doesn't have a keyboard or launcher, missing a lot of stuff, then after 3 minutes of looking at a black screen cause of no launcher it reboots into a bootloop. I meant that you formatted preload before installing CM/other custom ROM and because of that there were no apps when you restored teddytsen's backup. (CWM doesn't backup/restore preload).
