[Q] URGENT HELP NEEDED! Phone charger port broken completely - Galaxy Ace II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Okay so basically I spilt a little bit of water in my charger port while i was charging it, and now it has a burnt smell and won't charge in anything. Its not fixable from anyone but samsung, and I'm not prepared to completely take apart my phone to fix it. It needs to go to a samsung service center. BUT:
1. My phone is running Rox's cm10.2, so they won't accept it
2. I can't use any charging wire as none of them work, so I can't use odin from my desktop
3. I only have limited battery (although I have a mate that has an Ace II so I can swap his battery)
I need a method to get my phone to stock, then reset the flash counter, without using my computer (so basically all on my phone).
I don't know if there is a way, but many thanks in advance if there is!

Possible to
-use triangle away
-flash stock ROM nandroid backup?
I have a mg2 CWM backup maybe I can upload for you. But if low on battery you'll have to look for your mate. AFAIK our phone supports triangle away(only JB)

That would be great if you could upload that backup, its typical because I have backups of cm10, cm10.1, cm10.2, cm11, but no stock I will also try triangle away. Thank you, you might have possibly saved my phone :fingers-crossed:

I restored this backup via cmw but doesn't work properly, I.E. wont connect to wifi, doesn't have a keyboard or launcher, missing a lot of stuff, then after 3 minutes of looking at a black screen cause of no launcher it reboots into a bootloop. I wiped data and cache but no change. Any solution to this?

Yeah I'm already back on cm10.2
Is the problem because I'm on the MF1 base and that was MG2?

Okay I actually didn't so I retried it with preload formatted and now every time I select a language the "samsung setup wizard" stops working and takes me back to select a language

Do you still need my battery or not? I can give it to you tomorrow if needed

I meant that you formatted preload before installing CM/other custom ROM and because of that there were no apps when you restored teddytsen's backup. (CWM doesn't backup/restore preload).

Oh sorry I didn't understand properly, I didn't wipe preload before, I never do, until a few hours ago

Okay my issue appears to be fixed now, I thought I'd randomly see if my phone was still broke and it magically wasn't anymore... Very strange. Thanks for your help guys, wasn't necessary in the end thankfully

Cycle Reboot issue after Killing Task

Hi,
Two nights ago my wonder became very slow and task killing, unlike usual, didnt help. So i decided to take deeper action and using zedbox, i chose system programs (via root) and ended almost all the tasks (system and non system). I had done this before and i didnt have any problems but, this time the system started rebooting. It keeps rebooting as soon as i stop using it or make a call, so i literally cannot keep it on; it is Cycle Rebooting.
What do i do?
Thanks in advance
You might have accidentally removed or changed a certain periodic settings.
Certain programs or processes tends to run not at all times but at certain time and month only.
Try to wipe dalvik and cache. Then reflash your ROM and gapps(if needed). (this is if you're using Custom ROM's)
If it is stock ROM. Simply do a restore using ODIN.
Then use seeders in your device to reduce lag.

If you're using CM9 based or CM10 based. Just reflash it and wipe dalvik and cache.
If you're using Stock GB ROM (original samsung) restore using ODIN.
Seeders can be found in the General Section of Galaxy W.

Odin gives pass saying i should disconnect serial port but im stuck in that repeating wormhole!! I've lost CWM recovery as well!! What do i do now?!!
well i guess i can say the prblm is solved. This is what i did, if you have a better opinion state it here so others can use if need be in the future:
I took out the battery bcuz there was no other way to turn off the phone, then i went into stock recovery, deleted cache partition and did a factory restore... and now im back with a new stock rom!... well im gonna have to install everything once again...
guys... remember! Never touch smth unless you know what ur doing and ALWAYS backup... sigh. Thanks for the help everyone

[Q] Fail to flash any rom in my Note 2 sgh i317

Hello guys,
It's my first question to the forum. I hope you can give me a clue resolve this problem.
I bought a Note 2 SGH i317 some days ago.
It was my first root but with your trheads everything was ok (for some days).
I tried JediX, Custom Rom 4.2.5 and some other.
But after tried some custom roms, I noted that when I flash any rom the phone stucks on Samsung Galaxy Note II screen and I have to pull out the battery to turn off the phone.
I tried with many others roms and all did the same.
Later I realized that the flash process was very fast compared to the first ones, so I guess the flash proccess fails in some instance.
I returned to stock rom and root it again with same results.
I tried with CVM and TWRP.
I can restore some nandroid backups to get the phone working, but can't flash any rom now!
Do you have any suggestion?
Thanks in advance.

Hi.
Yes. I did every step.
Sometimes I wipe both before and after flashing rom.
In some cases I format /system also.
I'm thinking in format some special partition/folder, but I don't know where to start or if it will works...

If flashing stock rom doesn't help, your internal memory might be corrupted, and might need to format it through recovery.
It's not a sure thing but it's another option to troubleshoot your problem. If you're gonna try that, make sure to backup all your stuff

I think that something like that is the real problem.
Must I format /storage/sdcard0 or format everything except my external card?
By the way, how can the internal memory becames corrupt?

It's hard to say what made it corrupt (if at all, remember, this is only an assumption). Could've been an app that caused it, could've been flashing a custom rom, and something went wrong during the flashing process.
If you're using twrp (which i highly suggest you do), in the 'wipe' menu there's an option to wipe internal sd. DON'T FORGET! before you do this make a nandroid backup and keep that backup on your external sd, or on your computer. Also, backup all your stuff, like pictures, music, etc.

The only thanks you could give is just hitting the thanks button on my answers to you. But you don't really have to, it's entirely up to you. If you think my responses are helpful to you, then by all means ... In order to close a thread you could ask a moderator to do so. I'm not sure you're obligated to do so.
Btw, if cwm gives you an md5 error, could be most likely because you changed the name cwm has originally assigned to that backup. To solve this, just change it to what it was. If you didn't change the backup name, you could try going into advanced menu in cwm and toggle signature check to disable

[Q] Am I trapped AOSP?

I flashed an AOSP Rom (SuperNexus) on my LGOG. Now when I try to flash a Stock (ZVB) based ROM, my phone reboots every time data connects. I tried Stock Rooted and Lifeless. The ROM's will flash onto my phone, but I can't get any data.
I tried installing LGNPST, but every time I connect my phone and open the LGNPST software I get a message that LG USB/Parallel dongle is not detected. I flashed back to Super Nex and my connection is fine.
And I am re-flashing, not restoring a backup. I ran a backup in TWRP before I flashed Super Nex so that I could get back to my Stock setup, but TWRP can't see anything to restore.
Ugh

sounds like you're having similar issues as bmp7777, have you made any changes to your storage? as in the whole sdcard0 stuff? are your backups stored in sdcard0 ? when you flash a aosp rom it changes the way your storage is set up make sure you put your important stuff on sdcard0

This happened to me a couple months ago.
Easy solution:
Go to TWRP -> Wipe -> Advanced -> make sure you wipe all four options data, dalvik, cache, and system.
When you factory reset you only wiped data, dalvik, and cache. You forgot to wipe system, then you can go back to flashing normally.
Dont worry this wont wipe your SDcard.
Well I ****ed up. I formatted the data partition. I am now hard bricked. No recovery, no boot, nothing. glad I purchased that insurance.

Are you actually hard bricked because at this point normally I'm pretty sure you could just LGNPST back to stock? I mean I've wiped everything before to rule out dirty flashing related bugs on ROMs and I don't think TWRP actually touches any of the really critical low-level files.

I had the same issue with LGNPST. The solution is very simple. Uninstall LGNPDT completely from your computer. Go into start-computer-c drive and delete folders labeled LG electronics off of there and inside program files. Then reinstall LGNPST but right click the .exe file and select install as administrator. This will solve your issue and flash back to stock. Make sure you follow the normal process of selecting the .dll and .bin files.
Let me know if this helped.

[Q] Unable to turn on Wifi?

Guys, I have made backup from TWRP and then flashed another ROM. I tested it for a while and decided to return to my backup. I restored and everything went fine. But I am unable to turn on WiFi!!!!! As soon as I press WiFi button, it just pops back, and nothing happens!
Now, I was on MJ5 and both ROMs are 4.4.2 as a matter of fact same version (FNI4)... What could be the problem? I am STILL on MJ5 but the damn thing just won't turn on. Data is working normaly.
I was on Phantom, then flashed Mr. Luong, and returned to Phantom from backup, if that matters....
Thanx!

Modem has nothing to do with Wifi. Reflash Phantom with clean wipe rather than restoring from backup.
Ideally, you should format SD card to be extra sure. I think your wifi should be back with that.

I'll give it a try but that is ridiculous, I thought nandroid backup exists just for this situations - you try new ROM, and if you don't like it restore backup easily
You are right - I flashed JellyKat (I had it on my SD) and Wifi works.... I am really dissapointed, what could go wrong when you backup whole partitions??? I never had these problems with HTC, Samsung really is disaster... just one problem after another...

I had my fair share of problems with Nandroid Backup. The problem is not the device manufacturer, but the app that backsup / restores the OS.
Anyway, I always keep a cache of StockOS +CurrentOS+ EFS + TitaniumBackup at hand. Though a bit lengthy, I find this as the most reliable way to be back on android - exactly the way I had left it.

How can I save my phone book and messages if touchscreen doesn't work anymore

Hello,
I broke my GALAXY Fame's glass and my touchscreen doesn't work anymore. The glass on it is totaly broken but the LCD panel is alright. I would like to save my phone numbers and SMSes but the screen is not working. If I connect it with the kies the phone connects in the photo mode and not able to switch because of not working screen.
Already try with Dr.Phone and similar sh#t but it doesn't support my phone!
Anybody could help how could I save my numbers?
Thanks in advance!
Can you not operate CWM using only the hard keys?

No this phone doe NOT have a CWM no root nothing!
If I enter the recovery mode I only have:
reboot system now
apply update from ADB
apply update from external storage
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
apply update from cache
and that's all! Would be possible to make a backup from the entire ROM what is on this phone? And so I would not lose the phone contacts and SMS....
Would be this somehow possible (via ODIN maybe)? Could somebody assist with that?

Hold on, is it the Fame or Fame lite, because there was a time I was running CM 11 on my Fame. Can we get a model number?

Wait. This is a CWM for this phone! If I flash this it will factory reset the phone! Or?
I just want to save the phone numbers from this device in form of a cfv file or save the full ROM because the full display is broken and the touch is not working!
How can this CWM help me?

Flashing CWM shouldn't clear your phone. Have you backed them up before? I guess you can backup everything to an SD, or mount the partition they're saved in? There's definitely a way no move them to your SD or PC

NO! That's exactly my problem! I didn't make any backup before! So I am afraid to lose my data! By the way if I connect the phone with my PC computer it connects in photo mode and I cannot change because the display is broken! And KIES will also not detect because is in this stupid photo mode and I cannot change due broken display!

You should definitely be able to mount the right partition and save the data with cwm

Hi. Its me again. I had lot of work but now I finally getting to this. I we downloaded the Odin3 v3.12.3 in zip. Also downloaded the [email protected]
I am good to go but the biggest issue is that I could not turn on the USB Debuging mode due the screen is cracked the phone is not reacting to nothing.
Do you have maybe another option for me?
Because I am a bit noob regarding the SAMU devices. I only rooted/unlocked sony devices which is much easier...
get this done finally but it seems that my microSD card is not supported. Or maybe is defect?
Will need a new microSD card I think....

Well as you see I could save something here. But I don't know if is enough. Honestly I just want to save the phone book.
What do you think. This between there?
just use OTG and mouse and you then can do with mouse
but be advised like DooMLoRD wrote https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1224676
but i do not know if mouse can burn your motherboard
[ WARNING ]
do not use the connected device for a LONG time period... u may risk burning the device chip/motherboard due to the voltage supply in host mode...
u have been warned!
