I have a bluetooth dongle working in my pc, my phone can see the pc and voice versa. Note while I can send a file from the pc to my note 2, if I try and send a file from my note to the pc it fails every time. Has anyone else had this issue?

I am using Opensuse 11.4 for work and wondering if it is possible to connect my note 2 to the PC via cable.
I want to transfer file to and from the phone.
I installed the mtp tools but the PC still cannot recognize the phone.
You have to install gMTP do a search on Google for it. You might have to compile from source depending on what distro your running. Works great for me

You could just install the Airdroid app on the phone and transfer files through any browser.
Thats what I do on my Mac for example.
Nice thing about gMTP is that you don't have to worry about slow upload speeds and getting flagged by some savy network admin that watches there local network. Plus it's faster when your transferring large files etc.

Thanks for the reply, guys. I'll try gmtp. I have airandroid but it is too slow sometimes.
I want to send mp3s from my macbook to my note 2 via bluetooth. When I try, my mac says my phone doesnt accept those type of files. Do I need a program or app to do this task?
I think the issue is the mac and apples lock down on the bluetooth and not your device

Just rename it by adding a .jpg on the end.
Transfer it, then rename it back to .mp3
Should work. Sometimes the is stops certain files from being transfered. Nobody blocks jpg over bluetooth.

I am looking around but could not find the right answer. I want to miracast or streaming screen cast on a pc and projector for delivering lecture preferably wireless.
I tried [email protected], screencast etc, they need usb connection and ADB. But ADB couldn't detect my note 510 device while it is working for other Android device.
Kindly suggest me any sw that can allow miracast on Windows 7 pc. Or any other good option.
Thanking everyone for your help in anticipation.

Edit: I can connect my device through ADB, so the [email protected] successfully. So, with USB cable screen cast on PC is working. For wireless over WiFi I am still trying.. and looking for help.

Downloaded mobizen... like some kind of virus it has installed a lot saying Autoupdate...
have you tested this sw? is it safe?
It still saying attempting connection ... yet to success connection.
MirrorOp app does what I am looking for. Only thing is it is not truly free. It works really good on wifi network

Hi all, my problem is the following: I have a Nexus 7 2 all stock and a Samsung S 2 also full stock. I want to transfer files thru wifi direct, but it always fails. I can connect them, they see each other and can connect. I use the built in file manager on Samsung and ES file explorer on the Nexus. From the s2 I have the option to send via wifi direct, but the n7 never receives it, from the n7 I don't even have the option in ES to send or share via wifi direct. Thru bluetooth, all fine, but slow. What do I should do to make it work?

I use superbeam to transfer files between my Nexus 7 and Galaxy S4. It uses wifi direct and works like a charm. I've transferred apps, pictures and videos with this app.
Thanks! I'll give it a try.
