I am using ARHD 15.0 based on android version 4.1.1 with Sense and Google Now doesn't speak out the answers. I receive only the written results. Of course i have checked the search settings and enabled 'always' in the voice tab.
I own another HOX on which i have installed Cyanogenmod 10 and it works fine, i receive written and spoken results in Google Now.
Any ideas on how to make it work ?
BTW Google Now beats Siri on almost all subjects; it's quicker and has more possibilities.

If you shake your phone it should bring it up.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App

I've shook it more than the wife but with no success ? Wonder is its cm9 it don't like
not working here
Hi Sonar doesn't appear to work and there are no obvious settings on my sgs2 running checkrom. Emailed the support and will see what they say
I've been trying to research this since I updated this morning
I have shaken my phone like crazy but nothing, I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times from the android market too. I'm on the HTC thunderbolt with liquid smooth rom
It seems that it has issues with select roms, I'm using aokp now and it works fine. But it does not work with cyan
It didn't work for me until I installed "voice search" (google).
I had previously removed that app thinking I wouldn't want to use it. When I uninstall voice search again, sonar is also not available in dolphin. Installing it again makes it available again.
Running CM7 on HTC Desire
beta no sonar
Hi
Just had reply from support and must say first class service.
It turns out I was on the beta version. Just updated to version 7.4.1 from market and now it works fine.
Now to have a play, voice recognition on first look seems accurate.
P.s. I am running checkrom revohd v 6 its outstanding
Get rid of Sonar
Hi all,
How do I get rid of Sonar? I don't see a setting to disable it. A slight shake and it brings it up. I don't want to talk to my browser in a restroom. Everyone will think I am crazy!!!

Shake or click doesn’t work... It is a bug! I get latest beta apk from dolphin support and seems the issue is fixed now. If you wanner a try, here is the downlink link http://bit.ly/AxuFi8.
I agree with the statement made above. This will work great, as long as you have Google Voice installed
Samsung Captivate
Running MIUI v3.9.7
Google voice
DBHD v7.5.1
drules: open up sonar, then go to the settings(top right). From there you can disable it.
just the title, any one had that?
yes up
wanted to flashed it but once i saw your thread am having a second thoughts now, it is still in alpha but almost finished and as mentioned in there thread a "daily use", how is it so far and which boot.img did you installed with/without sweep2wake ?

maybe everyone has a little issues here or there, but in general, the other ones feel:it's very good, maybe even for daily use,(read in the forum) ,not every one face the problem(can't find songs &pics),but how does the problem happen ? how to solve it ?
this problem also exists with cm10 for the ville,.. did you hear from any devices not coming from htc with this problem?
You might consider Meridian, my media player of choice for the Android platform. It is very intuitive, excellent features, such as a native digital EQ, etc. You can specify several media locations to search for music, video, etc. It just received an update over the weekend, which helped aestheticly, and the developer is constantly enhancing the app. I'm using it in the gym right now, on the StairMaster. Coupled with Beats Audio, it is unbeatable. Have fun!

nexus s &galaxy nexus had that problem, cause devices which can update or flash rom to 4.1 are not so many, it's a issue caused by the system-jb,i think~ follow the update of cm10 by tbalden, and still no solution~ also little feedbacks about this issue in the one x forum
Ok, i already anticipate replies based on "use the damn search", ...please do us all a favor and don't clutter the thread with that kind of posts, try to max your posts number somewhere else :silly:
Anyhow, atm i have tried to install few JB roms on my HTC Desire GSM, the latest i have installed is JellyNow(btw: battery friendly), but still the same problems remain, the damn camera works but not so stable, often results in soft restart and when watching video as well(sometimes)
Is there a stable JB rom with camera and video working?
Please reply with posts where you can speak from your own experience, everything else is without arguments.
Thank you all in advance

Simple answer is NO.
There are Nikez and VJ's CM10.1, but the camera and video are choppy and tearing.

yup, i have stumbled upon this one a week or two ago, but i have read somewhere that its development has come to STOP, apparently lack of developers in their team....i am not sure if this is correct information.
Although i might give it a go, to see how it goes...all i need is daily driver, i am not that active user, because JellyNow can hold 2days, but it isn't usable any more, sometimes i cant answer a phone-call, because when ringing screen doesn't respond as it should, just showing incoming call, then it needs up to 5sec to start reacting....wierd.
Anyhow i am still in a hunt for a fine balanced rom....the problem is i am now addicted to JB stuff, beacuse it almost has it all i need within OS, so need for installing additional apps is minimum.
Tnx
I'm using jelly time and the camera and video work perfectly fine...I've been using this ROM for a good 3 months now...I will just add though that for some reason I can't find the camera now to use it lol but I think I disabled it cuz I never use it and would always accidentally open it....
I'm using jelly time R29,
I hope this helps you!

There's a thread reporting current bugs.
Those bugs are still important but I can say that these ROMs already work very good.
Thanks to dman for original work and, lately, to spyke555 and kick who are really doing an excellent job (development was almost dead before they committed and i'm very thankful to them for what they are doing).
I've seen the current bug thread but it's for 4.2.2 I need 4.1.2

He already answered your question, the 4.1.2 weren't ever completed, they were abandoned... hence why the issues in those roms are still present.
Install PACRom 18.2 and then apply the fixes for keyboard etc. I think the fixes are in the litekernel thread. Put on the latest litekernel for 4.1 keyboard fix, lights fix and you'll have the best working 4.1.2.
Note - skype and bluetooth headset still won't work, pretty sure the camera issue with rotation is still present. I ran pacrom 18.2 for MONTHS without any issue except those listed and the wake lag.
I was trying to port something, not use it as a rom.

GPS and other features
Uhm is any STABLE release with:
GPS Working (most important)
MUSIC Working
Skype Working
Camera Working
Google Now Working (this seems to be an issue from all custom Roms)
Since I've seen most these features working but none on the same ROM all together

GPS has always worked. Some of the technical data returned is invalid/bogus but Google Maps/Navigation is completely unaffected.

Again, it's always worked, so long as you don't have an app trying to record audio at the same time.

Skype works for text messages, but received audio in calls is corrupt. The core of the issue is audio playback breaks when an app opens the microphone. (Ironically, the microphone itself actually works fine, i.e. voice recognition has messed up audio cues but it does process what you say correctly.) Current hypothesis is it's a driver issue. Research is ongoing. This is a longstanding issue going all the way back to our very first JB kernels.
Camera Working

Current CM10.1 and derivatives have a fully working camera.

This is actually a known problem with Google Now itself, it depends on an instruction set the Tegra 2 doesn't have. The Galaxy R and the Galaxy Note 10.1 have the same problem, on ALL Jellybean ROMs, even official. Bug Google, not us.
There is a workaround: downgrade GNow to a working version (possibly by flashing old gapps), then disable "Hotword detection" in settings. Once that is turned off you can upgrade to the latest and it will still work.
Thanks for the reply

Thanks for the reply but:
1) GPS was not locking for me until I changed the gps.conf file in MOST of the ROMs I've tested.
2) Music didn't work on one rom I tested (now and then the music player started lagging and it automatically stopped every few seconds for a few milliseconds)
3)Thanks for the Skype reply; I was hoping there was some version with this fixed but evidentely not.
4)Camera flips orientation in all the roms I've tested. HDR just worked in 1 of them. Camera actually crashed from time to time in one of them.
5)Oh, sad about the Google Now fact. It's actually one of the main reasons I wanted JB
The skype thing Can't be a hardware issue since I've used skype several times before rooting my device. The issue you are talking about happens on google voice sometimes; therefore I'm guessing you're right on thinking that the problem is on the driver.
I'm very interested in ROM building since I'm an app developer for android and a C++ programmer; yet I've been too lazy to check how it worked. Are the drivers we are using open source? or are we just messing with the conf files trying to get things fixed?

hi,
thread how to compile from source:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2071542
AFAIK drivers are not open source if they were there wouldn't be so much problems with them. They are ported from other devices similar hw but with code for them.
any news about JB and bluetooth headset issue?
this is the only thing that's been holding me back so far

I've found that if anyone is having trouble with the "OK Google" feature not working for them that downloading the offline voice recognitions fixes the issue. I'd tried every possible way to use this awesome feature on the 4.4 GEL launcher. This worked! I've done it already 5 times and it worked every time. So as it sits now this will correct the problem until somebody else figures out a solution or Google fixes the bug for android 4.0+. But they probably won't because of it not really being an issue for anyone running CM11 or having a nexus 7. Also! I've found an awesome app on the play store for free that will let you use the "OK Google" feature anywhere in the android UI. It's still a little buggy and slow but this high school kid did a great job! And it works on the newest version of Google search WITHOUT ROOT.
