If you shake your phone it should bring it up.

shake or hold down the gesture icon to bring it up

I've shook it more than the wife but with no success ? Wonder is its cm9 it don't like

not working here
Hi Sonar doesn't appear to work and there are no obvious settings on my sgs2 running checkrom. Emailed the support and will see what they say

I've been trying to research this since I updated this morning
I have shaken my phone like crazy but nothing, I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times from the android market too. I'm on the HTC thunderbolt with liquid smooth rom

It seems that it has issues with select roms, I'm using aokp now and it works fine. But it does not work with cyan

It didn't work for me until I installed "voice search" (google).
I had previously removed that app thinking I wouldn't want to use it. When I uninstall voice search again, sonar is also not available in dolphin. Installing it again makes it available again.
Running CM7 on HTC Desire

beta no sonar
Hi
Just had reply from support and must say first class service.
It turns out I was on the beta version. Just updated to version 7.4.1 from market and now it works fine.
Now to have a play, voice recognition on first look seems accurate.
P.s. I am running checkrom revohd v 6 its outstanding

Get rid of Sonar
Hi all,
How do I get rid of Sonar? I don't see a setting to disable it. A slight shake and it brings it up. I don't want to talk to my browser in a restroom. Everyone will think I am crazy!!!

Shake or click doesn’t work... It is a bug! I get latest beta apk from dolphin support and seems the issue is fixed now. If you wanner a try, here is the downlink link http://bit.ly/AxuFi8.

I agree with the statement made above. This will work great, as long as you have Google Voice installed
Samsung Captivate
Running MIUI v3.9.7
Google voice
DBHD v7.5.1

drules: open up sonar, then go to the settings(top right). From there you can disable it.

Get a mirror - Skype video calling now runs on Desire

Update today
Yup. Tried it. Works great. U'll def need a mirror and an extra hand cos it gets tiring after a while.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
lol nice - I don't suppose anyone knows if it works on a xoom yet?
I'll be annoyed if it does as my other half wanted to skype to her friend but we had no camera other than the xoom and now I got a camera for her laptop as I couldn't convince them both to use googletalk
I bet Skype is still buggy though.

Yep. Major buggy. Couldn't get vid to work, mute and speaker buttons not working. Still have to sign in and out everytime otherwise it constantly runs (not a bug, I know, but a bloody big annoyance). Uninstalled to an earlier version.
i'd use gtalk if i had friends on gtalk... then again i have no friends on skype either
i'm still not big on the whole video chat to be honest anyway!
It's still got issues. Having to sign in and out all the time. Having to type password each time. Some online contacts don't show for ages. Getting missed calls without so much as a ring. But so far video was very good but as expected big drain on battery due to screen on(video) and skype seemingly running in background.
Overall I'm happier. Now where is that conversion kit to use the back camera as a front camera. What came of the OneMoreFace concept. We could do with something like that nowish.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
tried it from my Desire (froyo) to an iPhone/skype.
I received the video from their end, but couldn't send out my video signal :-(
I'm on Reflex S and its no good, my video initializes but then as soon as call is answered, blank screen it just goes black, but I can still receive theirs....
Tried it today, didn't receive nor i could send my video.. Quite dissapointing, but fingers crossed they fix it soon.
Has anyone tried this on the stock 2.3. It didnt work for me.
I tried this on skype this morning managed to get it to work. Seems to look alright on the computer over Wifi. Havent tried over 3G yet. Audio quality does need improving though, but the video seemed alright, a bit slow but alright.
I can report that using InsertCoin CM7 HBOOT/STOCK 1.0.9, the new Skype version does not allow video for me.
I use instead the patched version here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16323558&postcount=1028
version 0.6 based on the previous version.
seems to work really fine once you set the resolution to Force 320 X 240.
Cheers

it doesnt work for me either on IC 1.0.9
i think maybe cause its is an Ace S based rom (DHD i think ?)
Yup, I have Insertcoin 1.09 using latest v06 snq kernel and it seems not working.
works for me here with plain IC 1.0.9 and using v0.6 of the skype mod (not Kernel), but need to set the camera option to "force 320x240" otherwise it will not work.
Nice news, i will give it a try shortly
On my desire with CM7 new skype is not working properly. I can't send video.

It worked for me either instead of version from the Market, but the phone unexpectedly rebooted two times. I guess it's some kind of a bug.
The most strange of all that I was not using the phone at that moment. Well I've uninstalled patched version and now I'm waiting for the next official release from the Market.

[Q] The Bogmonster - I have a virtual keyboard working in ICS Beta 3r3.1 & Beta 4r1
Hi all,
First post so excuse the NooBness!
Ok I've just installed the [BETA 3r3.1]Desire S ICS AOSP PORT|WORKING! rom on my DZ- having great fun playing with it - amazed so much of it actually works so soon.
My question is this, from what I can see (don't crucify me if I've missed a post somewhere) everyone is complaining about the lack of the virtual touch keyboard for number entry etc?
Well I have one working! (in portrait mode only at the minute) am I the only one?
Keep up the great work devs!
I've been following it pretty close and haven't seen anyone that has a working v-keyboard. What steps did you take? Install certain applications? Flash a certain zip/kernel?
I smell a troll.

How did you do it?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
I read on another post that someone had tried to install the ROM as an upgrade from a CM7 build so I also gave it a try (it sort of works for most apps but breaks others) but I found that it had kept my HTC_IME modded keyboard already installed on my CM7 nightly and that in portrait mode the keyboard did actually work!
I decided to see if it would work on a full wipe install also so I did a superwipe G2+ and then install the apk's for ES file explorer and then my HTC_IME keyboard.
Enabling the keyboard in the normal way, then on the first couple of tries you have to select the keyboard from the notification area manually but after that it works ok.
The spell checking marks every work as wrong but i don't normally use that anyway.
but it works.
A few more screenshots
A few more screenshots of the HTC_IME keyboard working.
Still only portrait (but with the phys keybrd available it's not an issue) but fully usable - voice input works fine too.
If anybody else want to try it I've attached the keyboard apk as well.
Thanks

Hmm, I only have an arm up my sleeve - c'mon what's the trick Wolves boy?
Just tried this and it kinda works. Rebooting to see if it sticks.
Edit: get force close when trying to use auto fill. Turn it off and it works a charm. As stated only in portrait.

I did try Swiftkey X as well as the HTC_IME but Swiftkey seemed to have problems popping up, and I prefer the HTC one myself anyway
OdieSam reports he's now fixed the built-in soft keyboard for the next Beta.
I'll probably stick with the HTC as it's my standard one though.
All that's needed are a fixed camera, reliable Wifi and SD USB mounting and it's pretty much a workable ROM
Has anyone got handcent working reliably on it yet though?

S Voice? Well, it depends

Hey guys...
Just heard about S Voice. It sounds even better than siri. So I gave it a try on our device with CM9 alpha2.
So here it is:
The major function is OK, concerning listening and giving answers. Mount Everest's height can be found, weather OK, and even silly questions.
But the problem is here...
First, it is not quite responsive. Sometimes the button does not respond. However it can be worked around by re-launching it.
Second, the integration with local data does not work. Whenever I tell it to create a new task and/or calendar event, it crashes.
Third, it is not customizable. When you try to change the wake up phrase, it crashes. Worse still, you have to clear the data of the app to revive it.
Na.
Well, just asking if any developer is interested in making it work in our device?

Ace II (i8160) gesture keyboard not working.

Hello, i just flashed several roms in my Ace II because of the gesture keyboard not working.
I have made my searches, and found zero answer related to this, it seems no one is using gesture keyboard....
Now, on such small screen, having the gesture hability for writing saves a lot of time for me, and i think that anyone who would give it a try will keep it as primary way of writing.
The only rom in wich is working fine is in Slimrom 8.1 but i have found other complains for this one that are more important than the keyboard at the moment.
Is there any workaround?

I've been using it on the stock 4.1.2 ROM in this same phone and in 4.0.4 on Optimus 2x.
At store, there's no available google keyboard, already made the search.
BTW:
PAC rom has not working gesture keyboard, and is 4.2.2.
TeamCanjica, also is 4.2.2 and it has it not working either.
Rootbox, also is 4.2.2 and is not working.
On the contrary, SlimRom is 4.2.2 and it has it working.
I'm no expert but shouldn't this be in the "general" section? o.0
Google Keyboard (same as AOSP from 4.2.2) has gesture typing, SwiftKey has gesture typing and Swype has gesture typing. If one of those doesn't work you might wanna contact the app support directly. All I know is Google Keyboard and SwiftKey work perfect on stock and Cyanogenmod.
Google Keyboard is available for the Ace II. In fact I think it's compatible with ALL devices so I don't know why you're not finding it. I'd be certain it's likely to be something on your end.

It seems to be working, but only makes the trace and nothing is written.
Swiftkey and swype have their own drawbacks, both are really c..p finding and predicting words in anything than english, and i need it working fine in Spanish, there google keyboard is unbeatable.
Also, those both apps are paid, google is not only free, IT WORKS.

Nothing wrong in MY end, i've made the search inside the phone and directly with my computer browsing/searching play store, and it does not appear AT ALL.
I also checked some days ago with the Optimus 2x because i dislike the keyboard that came with a custom rom, nothing appeared... And also, both phones use different google account. (just in case)
So.. It seems that the keyboard may be been removed or is only available for older versions wich need update.
EDIT: Sorry... Sometimes you need to kill someone... I'll kill google...
Well, Google keyboard will NEVER appear for spanish... "Teclado de Google" does...
Really sorry... sometimes takes me some time stop thinking on english.
Anyway, it says is not compatible with ANY of my devices.... : wallbash:

Permanent fix for "Ok Google"

I've found that if anyone is having trouble with the "OK Google" feature not working for them that downloading the offline voice recognitions fixes the issue. I'd tried every possible way to use this awesome feature on the 4.4 GEL launcher. This worked! I've done it already 5 times and it worked every time. So as it sits now this will correct the problem until somebody else figures out a solution or Google fixes the bug for android 4.0+. But they probably won't because of it not really being an issue for anyone running CM11 or having a nexus 7. Also! I've found an awesome app on the play store for free that will let you use the "OK Google" feature anywhere in the android UI. It's still a little buggy and slow but this high school kid did a great job! And it works on the newest version of Google search WITHOUT ROOT.

Hope I've been able to help some folks out with this if your still having an issue finding a way to use this awesome feature Google introduced recently to Kit Kat 4.4.:highfive:
