[Q] CM10 Based ROMs - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

I would really love to move over to a CM10 based roms, but I love having a functioning SD card for my pictures and stuff to go on. I tried liquid smooth before the release of JB and loved it, just hated the lack of an sd card since all of my stuff is on it.
Are there any roms/kernels that support sd cards since the 'Official Release' of JB??

My sd card works great. 32 gb. Running latest nightly. I think it's been a while since that's been a problem

What do you mean by "sdcards" all cm10 based roms read both internal/external sdcards just fine....you need to clarify or be more specific.

I mean my external working without me needing to reformat it to get my stuff to work. Plug and play I mean

Are you running CM10 or another AOSP rom??

You shouldn't have to format your card. My 64 just works

Yeah when I used LiquidSmooth with ktoonz kernel it wasn't working. It needed to be reformatted or something so I just gave up trying to figure it out. None of my pictures would show up in my gallery, I couldn't access ringtones...nothing. It would show up in Root Explorer, but not anywhere else.

I figured out why it wasn't showing. I had to be formatted to Fat32, which at the moment it is not.
I'll have to give CM10 a go later when I have more time.

lol, I thought all sdcards needed to be fat32 for phones... but ya that'll do the trick for you.

It's because I guess samsung phones use extfat or something like that, and that's what my card is currently formatted as.

[Q] Just turned on Evo since july 11

I just got my og Evo 4g (on the 3d now) back on for my wife since she dropped hers and is in 2 pieces lol. I havent been on the 4g forum in a long long time and need some help from you guys.
I have found out the im on android 2.2 with baseband version 2.15.00.11.19
Was running Eternal Prophecy v6.1 and on 2.6.32.27 netarchy kernel. I know im pretty far behind and want to know how i would go about getting the phone up to date and run a rom that is pretty stable since its for my wife. She has been bashing me ever since ive found out about rooting and flashing roms, so i want to hook her up with a stable rom with all bloatware removed, and show her that "aftermarket" roms are way better than the one that came with the phone. Any recommendations would be helpful.
Oooohhhhh....1 thing, i dont have the SD card anymore and most likely will be putting her SD card in, would that be ok?
Yes that should be okay. Might need to partition the card via recovery. Roms I have been using cm7 for aosp and mikG for sense. They are both good. Kernels that are out for gingerbread are anthrax, lionfish, and a couple of others. If you want to go straight stock give tommytomatoes classic rom a go. He has tweaked that rom pretty good. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply....I'm still kinda noob on partitioning lol, what do you mean exactly by partitioning via recovery? Is that the whole ext4 thing?
If you are running the latest version of Clockwork mod recovery, you have the option to partition the SD card directly from the recovery. Hope that help man.

What do I do after I partition the SD card?
Partition your card 32/1024, once you do that your SD card should be complete. Partitioning your card will delete everything in your card so be cautious and backup your memory onto a computer

16 GB SD Card not mounted?

I wanted to replace my current 8GB SD Card with a 16 GB SD Card for my Xperia Play.
I have a SanDisk Class 4 SD Card, but whenever I try and access it in the Recovery, or ROM, it does not think it is mounted. I also own a 2 GB and 8 GB SD Cards, and those work perfectly, but just not the 16 GB one. I already tried formatting it, but still no dice.
Why is this, and how would I fix it? Thanks in advance
Try reformatting the card as FAT32. I had to do that to my 32 gb when I first used it with my play (it had been in my cm7.1 nook color before that)...make sure you copy anything that is on it off beforeul you format, unless you don't mind losing amything on it.
Edit: sorry just noticed you said formatting didn't work...what are you using to format the card? Try using partition wizard/(manager, not sure which) I've. Used that before for when I need to do formatting and it works well.

The SD Card works perfectly on my Nook Color, running stock and CM9. It just doesn't work for my Xperia Play.
I have formatted it to FAT32, and I used the WIndows Formatter. I'll try to use Partition Wizard/Manager to format it. I'll come back with the results.

I'm gonna answer this.
This is a system issue with 2.3.4 for example when I flash the .42 baseband or earlier my Micro SD (That came stock with my phone) fails to mount but on any version older than that it worked.
Try flashing a custom ROM or a newer version of Android.
Try 2.3.7 (Cyanogenmod 7.2) or 4.0.4 (Cyanogenmod 9) tell if it works then on either of the versions, they should work on ICS Cyanogenmod 9, a custom 2.3.4 ROM might do but I'm unsure.

I've also experienced the same problem on my r800x. I have tried formatting a couple different times. Still trying to find the solution.
I am using running paxChristos' cdma version, CM10 based JBX rom .
The rom itself is awesomely smooth and quite stable (once you disable the HW Overlays). It has been my daily driver for a lil while and I love it.

Need help finding ROM for wfs marvelc that's stable

I've been looking for a ROM for this phone and I've used some of the best. Like cm9, wild child etc but every Rom has major issues like data or mms. So I just need a custom Rom that's stable.

I would try WildChild 3.3 DeOdex, i have been using it as a daily driver and have found very few problems. As for the mms if you use GoSms or even better GoChat i can send and receive anything. Backup and do all your wipes, now is not a bad time to partition your card, I have a 4gb card I partitioned in CWM I chose IM 1024, next 0M, now go to mounts and storage put the files on your SD card, flash the WC 3.3 deodexed, then flash the Virgin Mobile patch for HenseMod, yes even if your not Virgin Mobile, reboot and see if all works, mine did not the first couple times, it boot looped a couple times, I reflashed the ROM and Patch, for good measure I made sure to wipe again and it works like a charm. After that I rebooted back into recovery and ran the Data2SD script, it gave me 2.7gb on SD card and 915mb on Internal memory. I Benchmarked at 2069, so its pretty snappy.

How did you partition? And have you tried to go to CWM and under the advanced tab try to format everything and then try to partition again. If that don't work I would try and use a card reader and run some sort of disc utility and see if the card is corrupt.
I did it with cwm first then I was unsure about the mount so I mounted as disk drive and used mini partition wizard thingy. And just did it again. To be sure. But make sure you back up on cpu

Not true. You should have no problem running a 64gb card on an AOSP rom as long as it is formatted to fat32. I am currently running a 64gb sandisk card and my current rom is liquidsmooth but have also used it on carbon, rootbox, paranoid as well as a few touchwiz based roms with no issues. Just make sure you format the card to fat32 and you should be fine.

No support for exfat, so you'll have to format to fat 32, which defeats the purpose of a high capacity card.
(can't store files bigger then 4gb aka HD rips)
Although there are some hacks on this board that may work.

Xfat from my understanding only works on stock kernel and persus from what I remember reading unless the dev added the support so like it was mentioned formatting it to fat32 on that size card defeats that cards purpose....I should have been clearer since the OP said it doesn't work on cm10 but did on his gfs phone that seemed like why to me.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2
So, can we expect ex fat support on cm10.1 anytime soon?
sd card issues with aosp/cm roms....................that's why I stay away from those roms in that thread...........those roms look bad-ass, but not worth sd card issues, i.e. reformatting to fat32 and such..........not worth it.
I wouldn't get anything over 32gigs...unless you plan on downloading a bunch of pics, games, videos and apps..my 16gig is perfect for me.
The above poster is correct if you want to run aosp or cm gotta format to fat32..
And yes some kernels other then stick and Perseus have issues reading exfat.
But there isn't a Damn thing wing with running perseus they are dope.

[Q] help w/ omni rom 4.4 please

This is my first time posting so if this is in the wrong place or anything I am sorry. I cannot post a question on the Dev post because I haven't got enough posts or something. So my issue is, I have the omni ROM with KitKat for t889, the newest version the dev has posted, it says in his post that the problem with the SD card not working is fixed, however I am still not able to use mine. It is a 64 GB, I have tried a fresh clean install of everything, formatting the SD card, partitioning the SD card, everything I can think of! I cannot change it to the fat32 because that option does not even show up for me on my computer or my phone. If I try and click on the SD card error, which says blank or unsupported files, and try to format from there is just reboots the phone and does nothing else, so I tried formatting on my laptop, and through cwm. I had also tried using twrp to install, but it gave me the same issues. Any help or suggestions are GREATLY appreciated!!
Try a different kernel. Devil2 kernel is great. Or you can flash a 4.1.2 firmware. Format your card through settings and then try loading new rom.

Thank you for the suggestions!! I tried reverting back to a couple of earlier versions and formatting, that didn't help... However I cannot find any of the devil kernels that are compatible for my device and 4.4, do you know where I may could look? I googled it, but not certain I know exactly what to look for. Thank you again for your suggestions!!

I have, I did like it more than some of the other Roms I have tried, I have just been trying out the 4.4 KitKat to see if I like it, more than likely I will be reverting back to 4.3 or something just because of the current bugs with the few Roms available, but have been enjoying testing out the new stuff.
