You click a web link in any app which opens a browser tab, if you switch back to that app and click some other link it'll open the 2nd link in same tab overwriting previous URL but if you check the box you mentioned it'll open 2nd link in a new tab with in browser leaving the first tab as it is. That's my idea of "Allow multiple taps per app"

Hi everyone! I was wondering if there is a way to change the default browser in the OS? And i dont mean goint to setting apps and changing defaults browser. That does not work as the OS does not see any other browser install even when there is an other browser install. I would like to make the microsoft bing browser my default, launch every time time is called up on.. Im on CM 13..... Thanks everyone

Try going to Settings > Apps > Browser > Open By Default > Clear Defaults
Next, try opening a Link, if it asks you in which app you want to open this link, choose the bing one. If it doesn't ask you that and it still opens up in the default browser do the following:
Settings > Apps > Browser > Open By Default > Open supported links > Ask every time
Good Luck!

Try disabling the stock browser and then open any link.
On mine the stock apps do not lose their default status even when disabled and until that is removed another app can't be set as default. I went to the stock browser and removed it's default and disabled after. Then I had to add another browser besides Firefox so that it would pop up the once or always toast after clicking something that would invoke a browser call. No idea why this phone makes you work so hard to change defaults. Never had a problem before.
Hi there
I enabled the developer options but then decided to turn them off again using the slider at the top, the problem however is that this turns off items that were already on when I enabled developer mode, such as 'Automatic system updates' and 'Always prompt when connecting to USB'. Clicking 'Restore default settings' doesn't actually seem to do anything so I'm worried I haven't re-enabled everything that might have already been turned on. I wonder if anyone is able to post screenshots of the developer options at their default state at all, or knows the default values?
Thanks
Cameron
When i open developer options i can see restore to default button. Can you also see this?

So I got my new S20+ all set up and ready to go, except for one thing......custom suonerie Samsung. If I go to Settings --> sounds and vibrations --> ringtone--> little + in upper right hand corner, it gives me a message stating "to use this feature you need to allow permissions in settings. But when I go to Settings, it shows me Sound picker and under App Settings it has Permissions "no Permissions allowed". and I can't change it. any ideas on what to do????? thanks in advance for any help.

Try accessing it through the Phone app itself (3 dots top right of the any page > settings > call alerts & ringtones > Ringtones > +
If you have the same issue, goto Settings > Apps > 3 dots top right > show system apps > secsoundpicker > permissions > enable storage permission
Try the above again
Hi,
the Gmail app don't notify me when a new email arrives.
The notification only arrives when I start the app. If I close it, no notifications is sent to me.
I remove app gmail with xiamitool, reinstall gmail and delete data, but i have same problem.
In battery optimization setting gmail not show, is normally?
Miui 12.0.5.
Mine works, I'm using the default installation of Gmail, I removed some apps with ADB but not Gmail and I'm not rooted or anything. The only thing I've changed regarding the battery optimisation is for LastPass password manager

miui 12.0.5 EU ? or Global? initially worked for me too...
Look here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/gmail-no-notifications.4264415/
To disable Powersaving:
1. Open Settings from the Home Screen
2. Select Battery & Performance
3. Go to Settings (top right)
4. Select "App-Powersaving" (the last entry)
5. Choose "Show system apps" in the top right menu
6. Choose "Gmail" and "Google" one by one and set "no restrictions"
7. Reboot
This worked for me
