Hi there
I enabled the developer options but then decided to turn them off again using the slider at the top, the problem however is that this turns off items that were already on when I enabled developer mode, such as 'Automatic system updates' and 'Always prompt when connecting to USB'. Clicking 'Restore default settings' doesn't actually seem to do anything so I'm worried I haven't re-enabled everything that might have already been turned on. I wonder if anyone is able to post screenshots of the developer options at their default state at all, or knows the default values?
Thanks
Cameron
When i open developer options i can see restore to default button. Can you also see this?

I'm on the latest cyanogenmod nightly with superuser integrated. I disabled it and now it's gone from my settings menu so I can't reenable it. help appreciated.
Is the app still installed. Download it from the play store.

I'm having the same problem as OP, need help solving it. Downloading the app from the play store didn't help as CM10.1 has Superuser integrated within it.
Reflash the rom?
figured out how to get the "# Superuser" menu item back...

I just had this same problem - I disabled root via the "# Superuser" sub-menu off settings ..then it disappeared.
...I then also noticed my "{ } Developer options" was gone... (not sure if one led to another or not). Anyhooooo... I re-enabled developer options (via tapping build number a bunch of times) then, inside developer options, turn "on" dev options, then when down to the "Root Access" options, selected then enabled "Apps and ADB".
Tada .. "# Superuser" is back in the main settings menu.
fyi .. I then went back to developer options to turn them off ..as I usually don't have them on unless I'm coding... noticed that the "{ } Developer options" menu item disappeared again. No worries though it reappears if you do go back and tap on build number
Cheerio yohs

This popped up on my phone after a reboot and won't go away. It's constantly on the home screen, and only disappears when I'm in an app. Also, holding the power button turns off the phone instead of giving me an option prompt.

Hi,
Have your tried "Settings --> Developer Options --> Disable Hardware Overlays".
That is what's known as "Factory Mode"
Just search for "Factory Mode" and I'm sure that you will find plenty of results

Yeah, that fixed it. Thanks. There's just nothing to give me a notice that it's in factory mode. Weird. 10 lines into terminal emulator and it's fixed!
I have two K10 phones with T-Mobile and they both have system updates available. The message says "You can download this update over WiFi at any time. Otherwise, it will start downloading automatically between 10:00PM and 5:00 AM." I have WiFi on and connected (100% battery and plugged in) and go back to the Settings->About Phone->Update Center->System Updates page and there is no button or way to start the download and/or install. What am I missing? How do you download and install the update over WiFi? This happens with each update and I can't figure out how to manually start the update.
Thanks for any help!
Go to: Settings > About Phone > Update SW > 'Update of SW'. There you have available the options to manually update, disabling previously the auto-update,

Thank you.

The last screenshot is what you get when you tap on "system update"? If not then try tapping on it, or tap on three dot menu on screen from last screenshot if available or hold recents button if there isn't three dot menu.

Yes - The last screenshot is what I see when I click on "System Update". On either that screen or the one before it, there are no menu options with three dots or when I press and hold the recents button. There are no options to select there. Very strange that I don't have the option to get the download and install there.

I don't get it, they screwed something or we are doing something wrong. At least there should be options tu turn on/off checking for updates and for automatic installation. Try conntacting lg support, but I doubt that will bring any help.
I know...I don't get it either. There should be an option to download and install, but there is not. Alas, I will just let it process overnight but would be nice to know how not to have to wait on this device for the update.
The same thing happened to my girlfriend's K10, she said it automatically downloaded randomly a few days later so... I don't know, the phone is all screwed up.
After attempting to install a Bank App my phone I get the following error on any app that accesses the Camera.
Allow Open Camera to take pictures and record video?
after selecting allow I get the following:

Screen Overlay detected
To change this permission section you first have to turn off the screen overlay from Settings > Apps

If I attempt to use Cam-Scanner I got
Please go to Settings to enable storage permissionso you can save docs
(Settings apps-camScanner-permissions-storage)

When I select permissions it says no permissions granted. When I try to turn on storage permissions I get screen overlay message seen above.
I never had this issue before. Is there something going on with my permissions and how do I correct it?
thanks for your help
Go to Settings -> Apps -> 3 dots Configure apps -> Special access -> Draw over other apps
One of the apps listed here is the problem, try to disable one by one until the problem is fixed.

If you are running on marshmallow(6.*) Ignore that, first restart the phone on safe mode and then do what this member said(i had the same problem before nougat) or just give the app permissions while you are in safe mode.
Thanks for the reply.
I appear to be a bit different. 3dot menu has show system, sort by size and Reset app preferences.
Gear menu has Draw over apps. Unfortunately when I select Draw Over apps I find that all of the apps with the exception of a recently installed one are disabled.
My feeling is that I have had some time of File permissions SNFU that pretty much farked everything. At the moment I can not access files on a computer via usb and am not even able to read my SD directly from a computer.
Any suggestions on fixing hosed permissions or other would be extremely helpful.

Well, the explanation is yet given: TalkBack and gestures cannot coexist.
Perhaps because TalkBack needs buttons to associate the actions.
That's the problem
Talkback is not activated on my device yet I'm not able to activate the navigation gestures

Ah, well, strange.
Sure you have no accessibility feature on?
Nope.
Problem solved.
If anyone else is facing the same problem then proceed with the following steps.
Go to settings>additional settings>back up and reset>erase all data(factory reset)>RESET SYSTEM SETTINGS ONLY.
This will not result in any data loss,it just simply reset your device's system settings to it's default setting

No need to Reset, this is happening because of accessibility mode is on( accessibility shortcut -man at the bottom of the screen), So you have to disable the accessibility shortcut first, when go to enable gesture control, this will now work, thank me later XD
Just disable the accessibility shortcut and everything will work.
