Well first step would be to disable sync on things you don't need, and lengthen the time between updates.
Have you been flashing roms?
If you have, then you should look into changing your kernel
If that doesn't solve the problem look into changing the radio and ril.
yes, i flashed the miui 1.1.28 rom. the kernel is 2.6.35.9. how can i change him?
i flashed the ruu already too. same problem.
what is rl.?

Hi guys, my desire has been rooted and was running fruit burst. Every now and then it would crash leaving the "HTC quietly brilliant" permanently on, which to get round i just removed the battery and turn back on (i could live with that).
Any way this afternoon i was just using it as normal, put it back in my pocket and thought nothing of it. Got it back out and it was switched off. Switched it back on and it comes up with the white screen with the green HTC writing, the just keeps doing that over and over again.
Any ideas?
Nope, this problem is completely unfixable and has not been fixed multiple times, and there is no listed guides that can help you due to it's complication. You now need to defenestrate your phone and acquire a new one.
Hahahahahahaha

There's a guided STICKIED on the Q&A forum which fixed this problem almost directly. Not only that, it is now also linked on this thread (twice). Not to mention, this works wonders..
There could be a number of reasons why that is happening:
1) sd card has broke
2) stuck in a bootloop (run adb logcat).
Can you access recovery/hboot?

Hi Guys, thanks for you help ( some of you (-; ). I got the phone sorted (guy who falshed it, talked me through). Anyway, since this post i have played with a good 3 or 4 roms, problem is i want something which looks nice but is practical with the battery.
I am currently on AceSMod007-lite v14, but the battery life is shocking. Any ideas to something better?

Use AOSP ROMs for better battery life and performance. Try CM7 and see if it improves.

I totally recommend you CM7, I experienced a big improvement in battery life
I've been wondering how is the latest cyanogenmod 7.2 performing on the Desire. Are there any kernel changes since 7.1? I'm a sucker for Oxygen, considering switching to cyanogenmod though. Not really sure what the REAL differences are (aside from some crap apps they put in CM so I can remove them right away) between these two?
Last time I used it, pretty good. Stable above anything else. Not nearly fast as oxygen though.
I kinda like the cm toys, wish I had some of them available with oxygen

I use the latest RC of CM7.2 and it's a good experience. Not very different from CM 7.1, but might be much more stable than oxygen. The only time i used oxygen was with Mildwild, but this ROM was crashing like hell, so CM might be much more stable (except when using the inbuilt rights management).

I flashed it into a new inspire, and all I can report right now is success. No bug yet. Thing I've noticed is that my RAM's gone down to about 575. I'd really fancy accounting the rest of it. I'm kinda new to custom rom though (took me like 3 days from zero to perform the flash with AAHK).

You're on wrong forums mate.
Mine is performing quite well. Actually I haven't found much difference between the 7.1 and 7.2 either.
It is still very fast
Everything seems to be running smooth for my Desire as well.
Only issue I have, and it is not a new experience for me with CM, is that my in call volume is significantly lower than it is in the stock Froyo ROM from USCellular.
I can deal with it, but it makes phone calls a pain to hear in most cases.
Looking for a fix now.

With 7.2.0 i was loosing connectivity with mobile network, the phone showed no service message. When i have upgrade to 7.2.0.1 this problem was gone, but the whole system felt very slow and laggy. Even scrolling applications list was laggy, so i decided to not continue my story with Cyanogenmod and switch to anything else.
why r u guys still on GB when u have ICS?

Because some of us here are not instability freaks and just want a rom that works as it should.

Same here, but with 7.2.0.1
I have tried everything I can think of, reflashed CM7 a few times, radio, different kernels. Nothing fixes it, and the phone is unusable.
Same here. Just flash RIL 18G,works perfectly.
Went to cm forums after trying for hours with this issue, unfixable was the verdict

I upgrade my Desire BravoC to 7.2.0 from 7.1.0 and had to go back because it was contently rebooting every time I tried to install or update any of my software. The only reason I wanted 7.2.0 was because after awhile my phone shows up as not being compatible with certain apps in the market, the funniest thing is that it shows this for apps that I have already installed.
I can't comment on the network problems others are having, just because my wouldn't stay on long enough to test it.
Hey all,
Bear with me here. Last night (EST time) I unlocked the bootloader and started flashing Jellybean ROMs for my One V. Now so far out of all of them, they all share one thing in common. They all reboot after like a minute... they just randomly reboot (while nobody else seems to be having this problem). At this point, I'm bummed because I unlocked so that I could escape HTC Sense and all of the locked down stuff (can't forget that darn bloatware either!). Any help is greatly appreciated. What do you think guys?
Thanks, worldindo1.
Its the kernal. Try sickernal, or go to cm9/miui

Hi,
I recently installed cm10 stable on my sprint galaxy s3, and its great but there is an annoying issue for me with the screen. Oftentimes when I go to wake the phone up with either the power or the home button, the screen stays off, but the phone is on and I know this, because I can still feel haptic feedback when I click on the screen which is off. Is anyone else having this problem, I would hate to back to touchwiz. Thanks.
On a side note, on my previous phone, evo 4g, I had the same problem with cm7, so could it be a problem with cyanogenmod and snapdragon chipsets. IDK
I have the same issue. Copy and paste this in the actual CM10 forum! You will have a better response! I really hope this gets worked out.

I have the same issue. However, it doesn't bother me too much. I just hold the power button for a second or so longer and the screen comes on.
I just posted it on cm forums. Here's the link http://forum.cyanogenmod.org/topic/61705-cm10-stable-screen-on-issue/

Try and post what you originally said on the xda CM10 thread. I think that'd your best bet.

NOT Stable!!!!
Still isnt that stable. I was updating the nightlies a month or so ago. Same issues here dialer freezes during calls, bluetooth connectivity issues, cant recieve picture mail and I think thats all. I am now looking for a non touchwiz replacement ROM. IF you have any other ideas please let me know.
I agree, its not very stable. I'm trying to find a stock rom not based on cm, but no luck. I'm stuck on touchwiz, which sucks. I doubt they will ever fix it, had the problem on cm9 also and cm7 on my evo. I know its most likely something to do with the snapdragon cpu.
