[PrimoC/CDMA]ROM Problems - HTC One V

Hey all,
Bear with me here. Last night (EST time) I unlocked the bootloader and started flashing Jellybean ROMs for my One V. Now so far out of all of them, they all share one thing in common. They all reboot after like a minute... they just randomly reboot (while nobody else seems to be having this problem). At this point, I'm bummed because I unlocked so that I could escape HTC Sense and all of the locked down stuff (can't forget that darn bloatware either!). Any help is greatly appreciated. What do you think guys?
Thanks, worldindo1.

Its the kernal. Try sickernal, or go to cm9/miui

HTC screen over and over

Hi guys, my desire has been rooted and was running fruit burst. Every now and then it would crash leaving the "HTC quietly brilliant" permanently on, which to get round i just removed the battery and turn back on (i could live with that).
Any way this afternoon i was just using it as normal, put it back in my pocket and thought nothing of it. Got it back out and it was switched off. Switched it back on and it comes up with the white screen with the green HTC writing, the just keeps doing that over and over again.
Any ideas?
Nope, this problem is completely unfixable and has not been fixed multiple times, and there is no listed guides that can help you due to it's complication. You now need to defenestrate your phone and acquire a new one.

There's a guided STICKIED on the Q&A forum which fixed this problem almost directly. Not only that, it is now also linked on this thread (twice). Not to mention, this works wonders..
There could be a number of reasons why that is happening:
1) sd card has broke
2) stuck in a bootloop (run adb logcat).
Can you access recovery/hboot?

Hi Guys, thanks for you help ( some of you (-; ). I got the phone sorted (guy who falshed it, talked me through). Anyway, since this post i have played with a good 3 or 4 roms, problem is i want something which looks nice but is practical with the battery.
I am currently on AceSMod007-lite v14, but the battery life is shocking. Any ideas to something better?

Use AOSP ROMs for better battery life and performance. Try CM7 and see if it improves.

Should i update my stock x?

Hey guys,
I recently bought my one x and i want to root it eventually and right now i would like to leave it as it is. But i want it also to update via the official updates. Will it be harder or even impossible to root afterwards if i update?

I would update personally as there are many nice fixes/improvements in the new updates.

If you plan on unlocking your bootloader via the HTC Dev route then not really.

It might affect your ability to get S-Off, but we don't know as we don't have S-Off.

You should go root, update, and flash a custom ROM. From my experience, my One X is my first super phone after jumping over from a crappy Nokia phone.
The first day when I got my phone, I got all excited with playing around it. I've been reading lots of stuff here on XDA. It was very tempting to root in on day one, but I managed to let it stay. But immediately, the day after, I risked it all and tried to root it, even if I don't have any experiece or background on handling an Android device.
All the hardwork payed off and just this morning, I updated my phone to ARHD 7.2.0 on stock kernel. Everything feels better right now than what I had on day 1.
But in the end, it is still your choice if you want to hack your phone or not. But trust me, it's worth it.

Root is fine.. But to have a custom rom we need to have bootloader unlocked right?

Totally agree. I've had Android for a while now and my first few I kept stock for that reason, the OTA updates. Kept my Hero and Desire on stock. I then got a DHD and now have a One X and both of these I rooted and flashed custom ROMs and can honestly say was best decision I made. There are spme quality ROMs and developers in this community. As long as you do your research you shouldn't find it too hard, theres very good guides on here. I am also running ARHD 'cause I like the stock look but its so much smoother and quicker. Most devs are also very good at keeping up with the official updates too (If not quicker in many cases.).
Like monchee said its your choice, but personally I don't think I could have a device now without root and custom ROM!
Hope this helps

You need to unlock bootloader to get root too.
I would suggest waiting at least a couple of weeks to see if you have any defects as HTC are refusing to repair unlocked phones in many instances.

Of course. I just tought the officiall htc ota's would do their job better. I had a legend before i bought the one x and i really enjoyed s-off,cwm and root.

[HUMOR] You Know When Your Rooted - HTC One X Edition

Hi,
Since the HTC One X doesn't have this type of section, this is for the XDA members who can crack a joke without the die hard unfun members getting upset 'coz their too serious. Other Forum Sections has this like the Samsung Galaxy SII so I thought we can open one up for our lovely community.
The rules are no swearing or inappropriate comments, or the moderator may end this thread.
Statements that you think are funny or good NEED to THANKED
So this thread is basically about things when 'you know when your rooted' tagline at the front and then your ending... Here's my example(s)
You Know When Your Rooted when you feel emotion when your newly flashed Rom has a little vibrate while booting up
*YKWYR when you have to flash boot.img to get your ROM working
*YKWYR when you have to boot in Bootloader to get to recovery.
Have Fun Bro's, looking forward to your taglines
*YKWYR - Abbreviation for You Know When Your Rooted

You know your rooted when you ask the CM Devs an ETA.
You know your rooted when your having a poo and your on XDA.
You know your rooted when you end up on Post 5. (Us Samsung followers should know what I'm on about )

you know you are rooted when you have the xda app on your homescreen
You know your rooted when you send your HOX off for a warranty repair and get charged for it.

You know you're rooted when someone tries to call you but you're unavailable, and when they try again after some minutes you answer "Oh yes, sorry, was on the recovery"
You know you're rooted when you lose an important SMS fullwiping for a fresh flash, and realize that only when you would have needed that SMS, days later
You know you re rooted ,when suddenly ,pushing power button doesn't wake your device ,and you now have to pull the battery but there's no access to the battery .......

you know when you are rooted when your heart misses several beats while your screen goes from the Htc quietly brilliant screen to the actual rom loading.
Htc One X quad core
Viper rom
Brick kernel
My role in life since rooting is to rub the power of Android into Iphone users faces
YKWYR when you tell your friends you will start the movie in 5 min, "I'm just going to flash a new rom". Halfway into to the movie you asks whats happend...
YKWYR when you say I'll be in bed in five minutes, next moring going to bed when others is getting up because you ran in to a little problem
You know your're rooted when your phone goes from 60% to 0% and refuses to turn on, 5 minutes before you need to go to bed.
(that was a scary, scary night)
you know when you are rooted when the OP does not search to see that there is already a thread regarding this topic already

Evervolv rom

Hello all, can anyone please help with me with this problem. I installed evervilv 0.18.1 and for a long time it was the fastest and most stable rim I have ever tried. One day after letting my battery die I restarted phone only to get as far as evervolv on the boot screen, it goes on forever. Can anyone please help with this problem. I read somewhere that it is the market that is causing the problem.

[Q] Rom questions for CMDA desire

Hello, I have a US Cellular CMDA desire so I am hoping some of you guys could please suggest some good Roms for it, I have had CM7 on it for about a year now which is fine, however recently for whatever reason a lot of my apps crash constantly thus I need to perform a clean install, so since I must go through the trouble of installing a rom again anyway, I would really like to put at least ICS onto it and preferably JB but almost all roms are made for the GSM desire which is not only quite annoying but also saddens me as I cannot load a lot of the cool roms out there onto it, thus any suggestions are very much appreciated.
Although if someone could also explain the shortage of them that would be nice.. because there are a fair number of these phones..
Oh and one last thing, can you possibly make any rom into a CMDA rom? using a script or something?
sorry for the paragraph and Thanks in advance for the help.

Cool, I'll try and play with this sometime tomorrow. (edit: or later today I should say..) Thanks
well I dunno... so far I've tried 3 or 4 JB roms and the most I got out of it was a boot animation and yes I waited long enough to see if it would boot I let it sit for 30 minutes and nothing happened, I suppose I'll try some ICS roms before I give up though.

Ha, thats funny, because about a year ago when I was looking for roms to put on this phone that was one of the first ICS roms I remember seeing and I actually got it to run and everything, I loved it too, although for some reason I didn't keep it I'm guessing because I had even less space than with stock or it could've just broke, I would say the first one though, (Edit: actually I think it was because something like the camera didn't work but whatever) but alrighty I'll give it another go and see about installing an apps2sd+ or int2sd script.

Yea it was one of the first ROMs I used back when I was a complete noob. I remember it was pretty stable and I stayed with it for a long time, but that might've just been cause I was too scared to switch ROMs

OH YES this plus that fix you posted totally worked, really fast too it only took about 1 - 2 minutes when I started it up to boot, well this is gonna be fun!
I got a tip on that fix thread about it working with 4.2.2 and looked at what rom he had and sure enough it worked. (although before I didn't do a full wipe as I did with this as well but hey it works)

well one more thing, I'm having this weird sd card issue where it isn't mounted on my phone, but heres the weird thing, I can use in my computer fine and I was even able to use it to install the rom but booted up I can't use it (note: this also was happening before I did anything and was running the stock rom) any ideas? I have already tried reformatting it again in windows as well, its not a big deal for me as I have a couple more cards, but I prefer to not use em if I don't have to, although seems like I will.

well I tried your rom and it sorta works.... it seemed to boot but.. the screen is black so I can't use it, although I guess something is wrong with my phone anyway, as some people have used that cmda fix and had success with multiple roms yet I can only get that one to work on it so I dunno whats going on with that... oh well one is better than none I suppose. (and I'm guessing asking for bulit in cmda support would be out of the question )
This wouldn't be because of the Hboot would it? the revolutionary hboot for cmda phones, I wouldn't think so since other users have it.
