Where did you place the back up file on your sd card? It should be in a folder called smsbackup. Only then will the device recognise it.

1. Save the attachment you sent to your self in a folder on your laptop.
2. Connect your one x to your laptop and mount as usb drive.
3. Create a folder called on your one x called sms_backup.
4 copy the back up file to sms_backup folder you created on your hox.
5. Go into the messages app on your hox. Click on settings then back up. In back up there is an option for restore from sd card. Click on that. You should see your sms.
For future use a third party app, I use sms backup +, it backs up all my messages real time to my gmail.
Good luck.

drop box for the win
or get BUMP from the market
Depending on what file manager you use some have options to send via bluetooth and some don't. I use "Root Explorer" and it has an option to send via bluetooth. Once the phones paired I can send just about anything including apk files.
Thanks imma try all those options

You can upload to dropbox from the pc via their upload tool (select upload and navigate to file).
Via Android app on your phone: Menu / Upload / select file type and proceed accordingly....

I understand from the pc. From the phone, when I do Menu / upload/ I don't have an option for selecting an .apk. I don't have a file browser/search option.
That's my question.
you can transfer apps between phones using bump. Bump doesn't have this feature on iPhone, but it does on Android. I transfered a few games and Swype to my wifes phone using bump.

download Astro in market (free)
its just a file manager
go to where .apk is on your sd card
click it
menu pops up, just choose send (then it'll ask how you want to send, either gmail, etc, choose gmail or whatever email program you use)

Hi guys, the wife has just got one of these beasts.
Am i right in thinking that i need to 'root' the device and install Super Su too, just to gain access to any files that i drag and drop from my computer when the phone is connected via the usb?
If so...is there an easier way of accessing the movies, photos, games etc that i have transferred onto the phone?....surely!
Download a file explorer. ES File Explorer is a good one.

great thanks, downloading that now.
one question though...once its downloaded how do i get into it on the phone as i cant seem to access anything that i have transferred onto the internal 'SD card'
Just download it onto the play store on the phone, then open it and explore the files to find the ones you need.

If the the apps are on ur sdcard, plug in ur phone to computer and mount as disk drive and get it that way.
Or download "MyBackUp" or "Titanium Backup" from the market, backup ur apps and then plug in ur phone to computer, mount as disk drive and copy the backup file to ur computer. I think the MyBackUp file is called "reware" on ur sdcard.

Well my English is not so advanced so if i misunderstood the question, Sorry..
But i think u are asking that when i installed an app how can i extract it from my phone, in which directory the apks are?
So my answer is if you are rooted then use titanium backup app to send any email your apk files;
and if you are on a unrooted device then you should check this out..

i hope this helps you.

You can use 'AndroZip' app from the Play Store (free).
Once you open the app, on the top toolbar you have option called 'Apps'
Clicking on it opens an AppManager. Now you can select to Backup multiple or all apps.
Once you are done go back to the main interface.
You can find the .apk files for selected apps in folder /mnt/sdcard/app_backup
Edit: You don't need to be rooted to do this.
You can also use Astro File Manager. Available for free from. The Google Play.
From the main screen go to Applications and backup.
Then select backup. Now you have apks of your applications on the SD card in the backup folder

Hi,
I have currently copy all the folder of HTC one x into my mac folder.
So now I need to find the notes that I have save……
Is there any one can help pleases…….thanks
I dont know where the files are stored but i would use a program called stringfinder (i run windows). It can search all files and it will find your notes.

Notes from phone?..Look in "My documents" and also you have "Note" folder on your phone
Sorry I get it..Misunderstanding..Well you can search by the name of folder (name you give it) or by the names of notes..
