Did you try that?
Suggestion: wipe then do restore.
Suggestion 2: turn of wireless connections let it sit for a bit, then turn it back on. Let it sit for at least 30 sec. That way it cuts the connection and reconnects fresh

Hows he supposed to do that without a data connection? Check your settings and all the obvious stuff first. Then try roms, radios, etc. I had the same issue with a hero, and it ended up being the phone. If under a year, it will be covered under htc warranty. Sprint replaced mine for free after having it for 8 mo.
Hi there, I have an Evo 4G that has been flashed to MetroPCS.. It is working great, but I want to get web and mms working... I looked around, but no one seems to have the info or what to do. I am on CM7, newest build... can someone please point me in the direction, not Metrodroid or MetrogenMod, those did not work at all for me, to a way to get my web and mms working please? I am a noob at flashing between carriers so I would need a pretty thorough explanation... Thanks. You can PM me your Skype or other chat service so we could talk easier or just post here. Thanks!

You need to be on a sense rom or use go SMS pro to get mms working, web has to be on sense to set up then u can change roms you need a sense rom with a working Epst.apk and you have to change some settings, google "evo4g metropcs web mms settings Epst" I'm not on metro but that should get u moving in the right direction to getting up and running, just remember it all has to be done on a sense rom preferably stock rooted with a working epst and then once its set up u can restore your cm7 nandroid or flash any rom you like. You'll need metros prl and apn settings along with ha and AAA secret codes, from what I remember I'm sure there's probably more but Google is your friend check howardforums I think they have guides for metro there

did you get the other phone "metroflashed"? You will need to have that done first if you haven't already.
any luck? I'm in the same boat - can't get data or mms working. The mms I don't really care about, can't even get data working after following bloody's guide to the T!

I bought a sprint htc evo 4g black fully flashed to metro pcs, but it has no web n mms. MetroDroid v.4 is already running on the sd card, but still nothing with web and mms.
Do u have qpst and happen to know your msl?

I don't know how easy this is, but i figured since alot of roms can now make the 4g/3g indicator distinguish the difference between the two, this shouldn't be that hard.
I've seen someone's Evo 4g and saw how they can choose to always use 3g and then press the 4g toggle widget to use 4g. I'm pretty sure all Sprint 4g android devices have this feature.
I've looked for widgets liked this and found a webpage saying that its so hard to distinguish HSPA from HSPA+ that you can't easily do this. Since when can distinguish it in our notification bar now, (H=4g 3g =3g) I'm hoping someone can incorperate this into their rom. I prefer a sense 3.0 or 3.5 rom.
I'm asking for this because 3g burns less battery, that way I can keep my data always on for things like browsing the web, but when I want to do some hardcore data-eating tasks, I can just turn on the 4g toggle widget.
If this is too hard, can someone atleast point me to an app capable of doing so?

I don't think you can switch between 3g and 4G but can do 2g to 4G. Just need to switch to gsm only for 2g.

It was more of a request though.... thats what got me off.... lol. My point is, you can see im still a noob for this forum. Don't usually post stuff, just silently download roms and things. Sorry, but this stuff happens when I'm a noob ^_^

Alight thanks, I got it from now on. Not gonna keep bumping this thread anymore.
3g and 4g on tmobile use the exact same radio to communicate with the tower. However, 2g on tmobile uses a different radio. That is why you can toggle the two. On sprint they use a cdma radio which is both 2g and 3g but use a wimax radio for their 4g. That is why there is a 3g/4g toggle on sprint phones.
i was experimenting with idogx rom and so i changed the boot.img and testede it on marvel c.So i decided to share the link and hope a dev can make data,wifi,camera,and blutooth but i do not own this rommsg me) figure it out and im knew here and im not a dev.i know there is no proof that it works but i tested it myself

Ok no data is for metro users so I would still have data and 2 things 1. If you want data back talk to insink he knows his stuff he's made two roms with data working and 2 hopefully once this is made you can maybe ask insink to port it to metro if he has time so out can work for all users

So I'm just gonna jump right out and attack. Data won't work, you can't just switch out boot.img on a Rom from another chipset and expect everything to be dandy. Can't wait to see all the "i flashed and now yada yada doesn't work" posts.

No. But to be fair, all he did was make idogxs rom bootable. And as far as I know, it didn't have data working either.

Recently I flashed cm10, but after using it I realized that the data connection was terribly slow and instead of 4g/3g, it just shows the arrows and an E. I even odined to stock and it still has this. My family's sgs3's still have 4g. How can I fix this?

Does anyone know of a fix? If I'm correct, it all happened after flashing Cyanogen Mod 10, the stable release, from there the connection was either "G" or just "E."

Go to settings and see if imei is missing or has a 0. If it does try the fix in the development section. If that doesn't work, use triangle away to remove the flash counter to 0 and then coding stock unrooted and send it to Samsung.

Settings > about > status. IMEI will report 0 more then likely. Then use search and you'll find your problems been reported about 100 times...

Read the imei injection portion and go from there and search the thread if you have any questions. That is a very well written thread and should not be to hard to take the time to read it and fix the issue yourself.

yeah I just had to do that, took me forever to figure it out. Peoplearmy wrote the program to fix your IMEI but you need windows 7, good luck!

Its been covered everywhere on that subject but I never read into it, and my computer is upstairs and I don't feel like moving soooooo you can search it lol. If no one or yourself gets it before I move I might help some more. Try searching "no 4g after injecting IMEI"

Your in what they call Edge coverage...very very slow data connection. Are you on the 2GB or 5GB Data plan? Try a different ROM...try reflashing the rom or radio...

This maybe completely random. But I have noticed a very strong E signal whenever my phone is not using more than that. After adding the account and a reboot. Try downloading something. It should automatically reset itself and try to find the 4G even if the 4G gives less bars than the E.

I had to wait to edit my post...to me it seems like he needs to reflash the radio or try a hard reset...or maybe unroot himself and deal with stock...I see more issues with rooted users..than people like me that run stock unrooted.
