[Q] Nandroid Backup and build.prop Question - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey
I've made a backup of my System and is it normal that cache.ext4.tar data.ext4.tar and system.ext4.tar 0 Bytes have? On the other hand are this cache.ext4.tar.a and data.ext4.tar.b... are they neccesary for the restore? And can someone give me the build.prop from a stock XXALJ2 ROM? Please for some reason my build.prop have 0 Bytes!!!

But is the 0 Byte from the build.prop normal? I don't think so! I need it from the N7100XXALJ3_N7100OXALJ2 Firmware. I've downloaded it. Can I now just copy and paste it into system folder?

parsing problem

can somebody help me to solve the parsing issue of *.apk files.......
thakzz in advance
Try redownloading the apk. I think it happens if the apk is not completely downloaded.

You can't just install those files like normal apk's. Push them to system. Make sure those are correct files otherwise it would result in either a bootloop or force close galore.

extracting 2.3.6 stock rom?

hi guys,
Is there a way to extract 2 files out of a samfirmware stock rom?
I need the framework-res.apk and the camera.apk
I want to see if I am able to change the setting in the app the denies the camera option when battery is below 15%. I want to change it to 5%.
Besides that, I have had no other reason to switch to a custom rom so if can fix this, I can use my stock rom again.
or, if someone is willing to help me with this... I can deliver a link of the stock rom zip...

CSC

Im trying to get the csc files in a zip so when I flash a international rom and csc flash the csc files rather then copying and pasting. Seems flashing these files fixes some issues. Can someone help me?

You can extract the original Samsung CSC update zip from the cache.img file contained in an Odin tar file.
I use a Java program named sgs2toext4.jar and then open the raw ext4 image with a free utility called DiskInternals Linux Reader. You could of course mount the file in a Linux VM or system as well.
Otherwise, get:
/system/csc/
/system/etc/enforcecopyinglibpackages.txt
/system/sipdb/
/system/VODB/
From a working ROM, and make an update zip out if those. You just need to get them extracted in the proper location, default permissions (644) so no worries there. You may need to add some files to that set, logcat is your friend should you encounter issues.
I have the files from the csc folder on my computer, could I just put them on my sd card and use like titanium back up to make a update zip of those files?
