I have been reading up on all the new tablets and have narrowed it down to Samsung i believe.
So what i wanted to do is get you guys opinion on which one i should get.......
1) Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1
2) Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1
3) Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0"
4) Google Nexus 10
5) Google Nexus 7
you should first ask yourself, which screen size tablet?
10 inch-
1) Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1
2) Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1
3) Google Nexus 10
7 inch-
1) Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0"
2) Google Nexus 7
after that. ask yourself, keep TouchWiz? if so-
1) Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1
2) Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1
3) Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0"
or ask yourself, stock/vanilla Android? if so-
1) Google Nexus 10
2) Google Nexus 7

Here we go..... yes i understand this is the galaxy S3 forum....... but this is the general section of the forum.
Let me "re-phrase" my question so that people dont TROLL.
I have a GALAXY S3 and would like to know which of the samsung tablets out on the market work best along side it. Does anyone with a GALAXY S3 have a preference to what tablet they use?

i own a Galaxy S3, and a Nexus 7.
but as you can see in my signature, i'm running CM10 on both. thus i like having the stock Android experience.
back to my original reply. if you like TouchWiz that much. get a Samsung one. if you want a stylus, get the Note 10.1. what screen size do you want? what will you be doing with your tablet?
i mainly use my tablet for reading, so i wanted the 7". i used to have an iPad and a Transformer. both were too large.

I am really looking for a tablet so I dont have to pull out the laptop every time i want to check my email (personal an work) or look at facebook.
I have a nook color on MIUI but i am lookig to upgrade to more of an all in one deal........ email, web, games, spreadsheets
none of the above. And btw, those 3 Samsung are terrible. Just go in any Best Buy and try them, they are ALL sluggish.
You should wait for the next wave IMO.

It has nothing to do with our version of the GS3
Very happy with my nexus 7... I had iPhone 4s and iPad.... Got sick of the oversized iPad so I went to staples and looked at the tablets and loved the smoothness and price of the nexus 7... Bought it and returned my iPad $330 in my pocket.... I then fell in love with android and sold my iPhone 4s on CL and bought the S3... Walked away with $450 cash and better devices.

I simply love to have one. It could make me want a laptop not anymore! Best android implementation ( open software and drivers) and best screen resolution in a perfect combo.
Does any else want such a device?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
I would preorder right away. I loved my notes screen size, I dont regret my switch to the nexus but I would sure like it more if it were gigantic like the note.
I would cry. Too big for me to carry around. It would be nice but just not portable.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
That's the only reason that would make me consider a device other than the nexus.
just flash cm9 on the note. done: a nexus with note dimensions.
They're both bordering on being niche devices, I think combining them would push them off into obscurity.
Sprint needs the note.

I think CM9 is not nexus. I really love Cm 9 but there are so many roms for nexus.and kernels also. This is google's baby phone and Note is not.
Hope my wish comes true in november when 5 new Nexus devices will be released.

Hey guys
So currently I'm using a Gnex w/ a minor crack in the screen. I am honestly thinking of upgrading to the S3 due to a opportunity.
However, since the Gnex is from google compared to S3 from samsung, I know the Gnex will get more support apps and ROM wise. right?
Also, I don't really like to upgrade too often... so would switching to S3 be a smart move? since I heard the new google phone might come out w/ android 5.0
In terms of longevity, which phone should I stick with? in terms of support, accessories and that I won't feel it's outdated
Cheers in advance
go to galaxy s2 forum and see how much development is there. S3 also like S2 is very very popular even being this new.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
yes I know the S2 was very popular
but would google's flagship phone be even more?
The only real android experience is nexus.

Getting a new AT&T phone on Tuesday and can't seem to pick between the Galaxy Note or the Galaxy S3. I know the specs for each and will be replacing the stock firmware with AOSP, so I'm pretty indifferent about stock software features. Tell me about your experiences with these phones and what you would recommend.

I have both while i love the notes screen size my s3 is smokin fast!! But the s3 seems a little small after having the note for months...they r both great phones the s pen is nice on the g note it all comes down to what ur looking for u cant go wrong either way!

can you wait until August 29?
Samsung will be * supposedly* announcing the Galaxy Note 2.
but if you can't wait. go with the S3. the Galaxy Note is almost a year old (but not for the US).
Thanks guys. If the Note 2 is announced soon, I'll still have 15 days to return my old one .
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Just because they announce the Note 2 doesn't mean we will see it stateside for months.
I have both phones. Love them both but the SGSIII edges it out. I will probably make make the Note my phone for work to give a little more screen to read exchange mail, etc. on.

That's tough. I have both, the S3 is faster and the screen is crisper. But having that much realestate on the Note is so nice!
The S3 seems so tiny. lol
I honestly never understood the market for the Galaxy Note, I know everyone has different tastes and needs, yes it has a 5.3 inch screen and S-Pen, but seriously if screen size is such a major factor you might as well hold up a nexus 7 to your head..Least thats how I feel, the 4.8 on the S III i think is really pushing the limits when it comes to phones, beyond 5 I feel it might as well be a tablet...so personally I'd say the S III if you find that you like the note then wait for the Note 2 to come stateside.
The Note was a great phone but a tad bulky to be comfortable. I thought it was great at first but started missing the size of my skyrocket. There will be tons of accessories and development for the S3 as well.
Sent from my i747 running CM10
i would still suggest to wait until August 29 to see what the Galaxy Note 2 will offer.
if it has the potential to offer a lot, i would get that phone. but if not, get the S3.
and there's also the re-stocking fee to keep in mind with if you decide to get a phone right away, then return it for a different device.
I'll be getting Gnote for now. Thank you everyone for you input.

Now that the quad core processor variant is coming to the us and not just limited to the international market?
It's tempting but I won't know until I see the next nexus. Considering what some carriers do to their devices, I prefer nexus.

Any eta's on the new nexus? or specs it may have?
If the specs on that I-9260 leak is correct and that is actually the new Nexus, I will be getting a Note 2. I will actually be getting a Note 2 either way with my upgrade to sell and fund my new Nexus. That is of course after I sell my G-nex to fund my upgrade!

The i9260 isn't the next Nexus, it's an upcoming TouchWiz phone from Samsung called the "Galaxy Premier" (at least right now).
I dont think I can use another brand other than a nexus. This phone is just great and updates are in a timely fashion that if I was with a Samsung phone with touchwiz the updates wouldnt be happening till 5 months or so after it was released.

I really hope its not, it'll basically be like how Apple went from iPhone 4 to 4s
This will end up being a galaxy nexus s or plus or whatever you wanna call it
I rather have Google wait 1 more year to release an awesome device than a revamped galaxy nexus
Just my 2 cents

Thinking about it. 32gb note 2 or a 32/64gb gs3. Need to flip an iPhone 5 first and if I get the note 2 flip a galaxy tab 2 also.
need more high def music...
I want to try out the Lumina 920, hopefully Sprint will get it. If I don't like it I'll probably go for the Note 2 as my winter phone

Since your obviously an XDA user you shouldn't have a problem getting the latest OS on your phone, whatever phone it is
The next Nexus will be revealed January -February.
Now to answer the op question...yes it is tempting...very tempting.
That thing will be BEAST running CM11 LoL
I am going to get one. I was carrying a nexus 7 for 3 weeks and realized I don't need 2 of basically the same product just different sizes. The galaxy note 2 will be a perfect mid point especially since I use my device more of a mobile Internet device/tablet than a phone.
I figure I will play with samsungs s pen nonsence

I have never had a non-Nexus device. Nexus One, GSM Galaxy Nexus (great phone), and now Nexus 4.
The Nexus 4's battery just plain sucks. That's why I'm thinking of coming over to the Note 2. At least the galaxy nexus let me carry a spare battery I could pop in whenever I needed.
Anyways, my question is, what are the more subtle differences you've noticed, and perhaps you miss from the Nexus? I'm not talking about the obvious stuff like battery life, screen size, s-pen...
One thing I can think of is that I heard light flow doesn't properly work with the Note 2 or the S3. I rely on that app at work a lot to tell me what kind of notifications I'm getting.
Are there other things that you miss from the Nexus, or that you found pleasantly surprising on the Note 2?
I have a galaxy nexus on Verizon. And my note 2 att. I don't miss too much from the nexus. The bloat ware being the largest difference in my eyes. There is so many programs running in the background on this note. You just dont get that on a nexus.
Since I can root my note I have no complaints.
I use my nexus now just for the 4g lte free tethering and phone calls.

I just sold my Nexus 4 the other week because of the poor battery life and build quality. I loved the glass panels but I was always worried about cracking either side. I now have the Note 2 and I can't say that I miss much from the Nexus 4. It is made of plastic, but it is very durable. You can run AOSP ROMs on the Note 2 without many bugs and still get considerably better battery life than the Nexus 4. I have yet to touch a charger at all during the day with my new Note 2, unlike my Nexus 4 that I was always charging. And I consider myself a moderate-heavy user.
I am much more satisfied with the Note 2 than my Nexus 4.

I had the Nexus 4 for two weeks then moved to a T889.
I actually really liked the Nexus 4's screen -- sure it seemed washed out in comparison but it was very easy to look at for long periods of time. The screen was also incredibly smooth in terms of surface roughness -- your fingers glided so easily over it it seemed like a shame to put a screen protector on.
My Nexus 4's battery was only "okay" after installing franco kernel, disabling logging and setting max processor speed to 1GHz.
The Nexus 4 felt noticeably snappier than the Note 2 in terms of UI but that's probably due to TouchWiz on the latter.
The Nexus 4 was comically easy to operate with one hand in comparison.
I traded my n4 for note 2. Don't miss anything. I was totally let down by Google and LG. No usb host. No mhl. No sdcard. Pathetic excuse for a Nexus branded device. Plus I miss the amoled tech since I remember my s2

Sold mine and couldn't be happier. I didn't care for the Nexus 4 pretty much at all. Sure it was fast but the screen felt tiny, the phone felt cheap, the screen is AWFUL (imo), and the battery life was wretched. I really didn't like anything about the phone except for the speed and maybe call quality.
I sold my Nexus 4 and went back to the Lumia for a bit first, then purchased the Note II. Love the Note II, it brought me the happiness I was hoping for with the N4 and then some.
I switched from the nexus 4 and 7 sold both of them and bought the note 2. Dont regret a thing. So what if I dont have the latest software. The note 2 is awsome its software is great and once mine gets 4.1.2. With multiwindow there is nothing more I will need. This phablet is truly the best of both worlds and it will hold me over till the note 3 arrives

Have my N4 on craigslist right now. It is a great phone but I love the Note 2. I swiched back and fourth a bit but I just prefer the notes screen and LTE when I am on a trip to a city that has it.
