I rooted and flashed my phone and everything worked great but my data package stopped working Completly. I restored the phone back to stock ROM using Odin but still no data (wifi still works). I checked my IMEI number and it appears fine.
The instructions i followed to root the phone was the one where you do not tripp the flash counter, and I backed up IMEI using the NV reader, and the ROM i installed was the Sonic Rom. The only thing I think I could have done wrong is when I went to use the NV reader I accidentally started backing up the entire array of numbers and I canceled the operation midway through. I then just backed up just the IMEI and installed the ROM.
Is it possible I corrupted something when I hit cancel? And please does anyone know how I can get my data working? I was on the phone with tmobile for over an hour today and they were zero help.
thanks.

Exact same thing happened to me..I used PeopleArmy's method and tried re-injecting the correct IMEI back into the phone for a couple hours, then suddenly, my data started working again out of nowhere. Really weird, but it fixed my issue..good luck to you!

Thanks for the reply. did you use PeopleArmy method to recover a lost IMEI number? My issue is a little different. I still have IMEI numbers but I have no data signal working on the phone at all.
I did not get many many replies, maybe my original post was hard to understand...
My H+ and 3G indicator lights blink as if they are working but my phone is completly unable to use any data services. WiFi works, Cellular Voice works but no data.
When I first got the phone everything worked great but after I rooted and flashed it started showing a screen on my browser indicating that my data plan was not compatible with my handset. Tmobile could not help, since I have the correct data plan, my previous phone is the awesome HD2. Please let me know what I can do to fix the phone.

hi
after i bought my sgn2 i realized imei no is different then real imei no which is written under battery. i think seller changed it. anyway my real issue is network prob. my network goes after every rom update. after the first rom update i lost efs folder and i couldnt get it back so no network but imei still remained. i went to service, he fixed it for $15. before the second update try i backed up efs, then after update i restored efs but no network on phone. again i went to service, he fixed it $10.
i can pay much to the service but really i wonder what was happening?
what sould i do?
if i delete modem.bin from tar file everything is ok, but i dont know how to fix when network gone.
thanks
Note: my english not good enough i hope i explained my prob.
Any idea?

HI all,
First post, go easy on me!
I've searched the forums trying to find the answer to this problem but have been unsuccessful. I successfully flashed my Galaxy W with slimbean 3.1.0 and had been using it successfully for over a month. I put it in airport mode to save battery, as I had done many times before, but this time when I turned it off the service never came back. I haven't had service since.
I have tested the SIM in another phone and it is working fine. I have also tried flashing a different ROM (CM10 Alpha 1) with no luck. I would reflash the phone with the stock firmware if there is any chance that would help, but I haven't been able to figure out how to do that via CWM. At this point I'm not exactly sure what to do. Is it possible that the this is a hardware issue?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Yes it´s possible it´s a hardware issue you got after a while.
First thing I would try is to flash back to stock ROM and see if this fixes your issue. (With Odin)
There is a guide about how to do that, but am sorry not to point you to it right now. Its 4am here righ now and I already am having difficulties to write correctly. (need to go to bed soon )
If this helps I would suggest to update the baseband and then to try again with CyanogenMod.
But if reflashing the stock ROM doesn´t help either, I would suggest to contact the Samsung Service Center.
By flashing back to the stock ROM make sure you are flashing the one used in your specific country, because in the first place it also inculdes the baseband used in your country and in the secound place it also inculdes the country code Samsung might look at while testing your phone.
In Germany for example most SGW´s were sold with it´s specific coutry code. But there were also a few sold with the county code for the whole EU.
So you must care about such things when flashing back to stock ROM. For fixing it the country code is not important. Only the baseband used in your region is important. But I case you need to contact the Samsung Service Center it will be important.
Hope this helps a bit. Now I really need to go to sleep.
Does your IMEI number still ok? Cause I lost my Efs folder with IMEI number some time ago, in another Galaxy fone i had.
you can check it in Settings / About fone / Status / IMEI
If you lost it, you will have no service, no matter what rom you try.
In this case, you can try to repair using this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1308546 , not simple but saved my fone.
I have a Note ii n7100
I flashed to Paranoid Android earlier in the year and thought I'd try out something else for fun again this morning.
I first went to monxdified (monxDIFIED-N7100-XXDME1-13-01.zip) and there was cell signal but I couldn't get onto a cell network (I'm a three UK customer). It would say registered on network but would never actually register.
I then tried selecting a different radio in the installer, the top one, rather than the 2nd one - I was guessing that this was the issue. Same problem.
I then tried going to cyanogen (what I saw as a more trusted/well known rom to try that out) - this time it finds the network but says there is no signal and that (3UK) is unavailable.
I've been reading and I may have wiped my imei number, at this point I got scarred and thought I'd check here before messing this up any further.
I hope I've put this thread in the correct place. Thanks in advance.
Note: I can still read a value for my imdi number in settings, hopefully this means it isn't lost?

I've gone right back to defaults now with odin and am beginning to think it's an issue with my SIM.
Just closing this thread.
Don't forget to take your EFS backup.
Maybe you will live that problem again.
no it is not a SIM problem, i have the same problem, i did a backup for the previous rom but there is no network signal at all.
it would be great if anybody will help.
thanks in advance.

I didn't take an EFS Backup, the last time flashed a new ROM (Paranoid Android) I didn't need to. I assumed this would be the same story.

When you say you get no signal can you search for and find networks, only not connect? (That's my story)

To what version, which file and how? Like I mentioned in my last post, I've gone back to absolute factory settings and now my phone counts as unrooted. I'm thinking of just sending it to samsung. I assume they'll fix the issue if I pay them?
After looking into the issue some more it seems my IMEI has been wiped. Not sure if there's anyway out of that one...
Ok so i got this new Tab S 8.4 LTE from an online chinese retailer, after using it for some hours i decided to flash lollipop rom to it. Then i inserted a sim card but i keep getting "Emergency calls only" if i manually search and connect to a network,it will show "Not registered to network",i have tried flashing back kitkat/lollipop/kitkat all over again but nothing fix it.
After some digging i realised the problem is pretty much common and it has to do with a deleted/corrupted efs folder,so i have tried several solutions like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1813559 this http://www.technobezz.com/fix-samsung-galaxy-unknown-baseband-version/ and this http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/general/guide-recover-imei-9-steps-t1264021 i cant seem to get it right. You guys are my last hope. The Tab is barely 3 days old. I am thinking of returning it back to the seller if all methods fail.
My friend has an exact type of tablet, can i backup his efs and restore to mine? If i restore his Nandroid will that fix my problem?
Have you tried flashing a stock rom via Odin? Sometimes that does that the trick.
