Language learning with S-pen? - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anybody know of any apps to learn Asian languages, that incorporate the Spen?
Specifically like a flashcard or quiz app where you can try to write out the characters or letters using the SPen before you see the answers.
I used to use Anki but couldn't figure out a way to take advantage of the Spen.

Actually most apps don't require the s-pen to teach you how to write characters.
I like to use Pleco which has a wonderful flashcards section in it. You can practice and test yourself.
It's not completely free, but I think it's the best piece of software out there if you wanna learn Chinese.
加油!

Thanks it looks good. Any suggestions for Korean or Japanese?

Can some solve my problem

I have an app called mini diary and i decided to make a daily diary entry on my phone to practoce typing on it.
The problem is that there is a 1000 character limit. This sucks cause well i like writing diary entries the size of small essays so it takes 2-3 entries just to write what i want to.
Can some one modify the app to get rid of the character limit or atleast in crease it to atleast 2500

Have you tried emailing the developer?

I've had hands-on experience on C++, I'm sure Java doesn't differ too much. However, I don't have a laptop snappy enough to handle the android sdk & eclipse software, also, unless decompiling the apk puts it back to full source code, to my knowledge, it isn't as simple as an xml edit, HOWEVER it doesn't make much more difficult either, you just search through the code for the proper class that contains such information in limit, or perhaps another terminology used by its creator/dev and once found, you change its values to meet your needs, and then recompile. This however should be emailed to the dev, and if its something you want to tackle for yourself, (which anyone can for this type of edit)legally speaking, you should contact the dev for permission to make such modifications to his/her app, (unless his work is opensource then you're ok) otherwise, he's protected by any type of reverse engineering, aka decompiling.
I think the dev is sammy

Help with Chinese input

Hey everyone. So I just noticed my phone has the option to switch to Chinese under the language settings. I've been flashing rooms and kernals for awhile on this phone. Currently I am on tdjs dark side beta 3.
So some of my relatives recently took advantage of the free gs2 offer from T-Mobile and got their phones. They've come to me to see if I can change their phone to Chinese. The weird thing is, that I can't even see that option on their phones.
Is this because I'm rooted with a different rom? Or is it because I'm on ICS that has the ability to have the option or Chinese?
What's the quickest and easiest way for me to add Chinese to their phones. I'm not talking about the Google Pinyin app, I'm looking to change the language of the entire phone to Chinese.
Any help or tips will be greatly appreciated.

Even though the phone supports many languages only a few of them will show in the menu. Using this app will allow you to access the hidden languages and set it as the system language. Be advised the languages are in pseudo alphabetical order so you will have to scroll the whole list to find the language you're looking for.

Handwriting on Note 2

Please forgive me if this has been asked before. I'm wanting to learn to use the handwriting on my Note 2. I loved this feature back in the day when I was using Palm and could use the handwriting faster than typing. I can't find a guide to learn the strokes for the characters to use this feature on the Note 2. Can someone point me to a link that I could learn to use the handwriting on the Note 2?
Enable samsung keyboard and in keyboard settings enable pen detection. Change handwriting settings the way you like . There is tutorial too.

It actually learns your writing, and is better at it than any other phone I've had before.
I hated the palm short strokes shortcuts, but I remember a few people who could fly writing that way.
I can't find a tutorial at all.
I find the handwriting recognition to be very, err, uneven. As if it didn't use the dictionary enough, sometimes suggesting things that really aren't words.

Unlike the Palm where you're writing in a special handwriting gestures, with the Note 2, you just write how you usually write - that's the cool magic part of it. No need to learn how to write.

darekz, any idea why I don't have input languages in handwriting settings
been looking all over the web for a way to add another handwriting language
Hmmm...
I installed additional language (polish PL) from play store. Maybe that is reason why I have a choice?

Were the Handwriting Settings deprecated in 4.3? For the life of me I can't find these settings. They are no longer under the Samsung keyboard settings.

Sorry I should have been more specific. I'm not looking for the Tutorial but the Handwriting Settings (the dialog in the picture). In the Handwriting Settings you can change the Recognition Type, Recognition Time, etc.

[Q] How do you add languages?

I can't seem to find an answer to this through searching. I see videos where people show they have all language packs, but explain how they got it.
Does anyone know where to get them and how to install them?
PS - I'm not referring to Keyboards. Talking about entire system Language and Input.

I'm not certain if this will work, but if you have Root access, you can try this free app: MoreLocale2. It has some good reviews, but I have never used it.
Easy

Easy just go to setting- language and input- there you can add languages to your key board or change the language for your phone.
