boot into recovery(vol-up home pwr) and factory reset
Then boot to download mode(vol-dwn home pwr) and flash this in the pda slot of odin http://goo.im/devs/billard412/d2spr...s/(NO WIPE)Official_jb_lj7_rooted_deodex-1.7z

You can also do what he said go to recovery volume up and power plus home button and factory reset then flash a tw rom . Just helped my friend who did the same thing .I think the problem might be dirty flashing from tw to cm10 without factory resetting. Good luck this is just another way if you don't know how or don't have Odin.

You need to do vol up + home + power for recovery; down is download mode. Once in recovery just do a full system wipe, then flash it again. if you got stuck on a bootloop, you either didn't wipe correctly or flashed a bad zip with it, or a kernel that didn't match the framework.

Go into download, use Odin to reflash both, boot into CWM and restore backup (Assuming you did a backup).

Need stock ROM .tar file for Odin flash

Hey guys,
I managed to soft brick my device by flashing all sorts of crap today.
I am able to get into download mode and Odin recognizes the phone. I have been trying to get my hands on the stock factory ROM in Odin flashable format but haven't had any luck. All the links I have found around here are either broken or are taking so long they are timing out.
If anyone has a working link to the stock ROM that I can flash through Odin I would be very grateful.
Thanks!
Do you have stock recovery? I had same problem before lol.
I will try to seaech my old thread.

No, I was on TWRP Recovery. I flashed from CM10 to the new JB Touchwiz leak after performing a full wipe, which went fine. but then i decided to flash the nav bar mod and a theme just to see how far I could push it. Clearly the limit was hit.
Thanks for this. Flashing now.
Strange, after flashing the stock boot image in Odin (which went successfully) I cannot seem to get the phone to boot past the Samsung logo. I also can't boot into recovery (volume up + volume down + power) is not working.
Any ideas?

Boot into recovery (you're doing it wrong) and do a factory reset
Volume up + Home button + power until the screen comes on, then quickly release and you'll be in recovery. Then factory reset, you'll be good to go

If you still want stock:
Download T999UVALH2: http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&model=SGH-T999&pcode=TMB&os=1&type=1#firmware
Flash it through Odin.

[Q] Galaxy S3 stuck in CyanogenMod boot screen

Hello, I made a very foolish decision today. I just recently rooted my phone (i747), and i am still not familiar with roms or flashing or any of that. I installed the Rom Manage app by clockworkmod onto my phone. I did no other preperation other than creating a backup through that app on my phone. Then using that app, i downloaded the CyanogenMod 10.1, directly onto my phone. It then gave me the option to wipe data which i chose not to do. It then started the installation of the rom. Everything started off okay and it looked like it installed. When it rebooted it got stuck on the CyanogenMod circle boot and no matter what i try i cannot fix it.
I cannot stress this enough. I am very new to this stuff and am not exactly sure how everything works. It is my mistake and i understand it was the outcome of my stupidity. However, all I am trying to do is fix my phone. When i try to boot into recovery mode (power, home, and up vol) it just restarts still in the boot logo. Whenever i press power, home, and volume down it says "booting a custom rom can harm your device are you sure?" but whether i choose yes or no it is still stuck.
Sorry about all the text, but can somebody please explain to me in the most noob friendly way possible how i can just get my phone in working condition? Thanks for your time
Try booting into recovery this way, in this button pressing order: Vol up + home + power. When your phone vibrates and you see the blue text in the top left corner of the screen, release just the power button.
If this gets you into recovery, you can wipe data, cache and dalvik (under advanced) to see if this clears your issue.
For future reference, don't flash ROMs in rom manager. Only use that app to update or install recovery.
Thanks, that got me into recovery mode. I wiped the dalvic cache, and did a factory reset, but I am still stuck in the boot

I would suggest to download the CM10 ROM from their thread, and copy it to an external sd card. You can reflash it from the sd card in the recovery menu.
ya, now that you know how to successfully get into recovery, i would flash a rom and gapps again via that route. check out the link in my signature. its got some stuff to look over for a safe and smooth backup & installation
Thanks!

maybe you tried to make an advanced data wipe and selected internal storage, dalvic, cache, etc.
what you need to do is put the phone in recovery mode again, select install and then scroll down to find the OS zip that was broke when wiping, after flashing be sucessful reboot system. then turn off the phone again o get it in recovy once more, select install, scroll down but this time you must to install Gapps. to conclude you need to flash OS and Gapps again through recovery mode.
hope this help

[Q] goto TWRP from a wiped device

Hi All,
Repost since I posted this question in the wrong forum before. Sorry for the spam.
I tried to flash my E980 (already rooted and running Carbon ROM nightly build 10/10/2013) with the latest ROM nightly build 10/24/2013.
When in TWRP 2.5.0.0, I wiped everything except the external SD, added 10/24/2013 build image, gapps, and modem zips and hit install rom.
The flashing stopped due to error saying the MD5 signature of the build image zip is bad.
Now I am left with a device with no OS installed. When I power it on, after the initial LG logo flash, nothing happens.
Would you please tell me how to get back into the recovery mode? Thanks a lot.
I have re-downloaded the ROM zip and put it in the external SD.
At this stage, do I have to use LG flash tool to flash the factory ROM first, then do root,...? Or can I flash the custom ROM directly.
Flash the ROM in cwm directly

Do this
To boot into recovery do this.
Switch off by removing battery,
Re-insert battery,
now hold vol up+home+power button at same time n release it when u see LG logo. This will boot into recovery.
Wipe data and flash the ROM.
Good luck
Edit: I'm not sure if it's vol up or vol down. It's one of those though. Getting into recovery is bit tricky. But I have done it before. If it fails remove the battery again and try once again.

StarkV5, thanks a lot!
It is "volume up + home + power". Returned to TWRP 2.6.1.0 recovery and flashed 20131104 CM10.2 today. Everything works smoothly except that the screen touch issue in TWRP. The touch calibration was spot on during the first use after TWRP install. After a reboot, the touch is so off. It is like working with a 960*540 screen, i.e. the top left quadrant of the E980 screen.
Thank you (and Neroga too) again!

Soft bricked S2, need some help

Hey all,
Hoping you guys can help me with an issue I'm having...
I was running the Dirty Unicorns new rom for my sgh-t989d and it was working awesome until I decided to backup my rom via recovery using rom manager. The rom failed to update, so I hit reboot and then it wouldn't boot just a black screen, but could still access download mode.
Have been trying to flash back to stock with odin but every stock rom is hanging up at the S animation in the boot. It just loops the colour animation.
My guess is because I need to wipe the cache and factory reset, but can't try that as I can't access CWM, only download mode for some reason.
Tried a few different versions of odin and different Telus and Koodo roms, nothing working yet.
Any tips are much appreciated, thanks in advance!
can you adb reboot recovery?
Try to reboot in recovery by pressing the Vol up, Vol down and power button. When you see samsung logo release power button while continuing to hold both the vol buttons. The phone should reboot into recovery.
Then wipe data, cache, dalvik and flash any rom of your choice.
Hope this helps.
:laughbviously you are responsible if your device blasts or something.
SOLVED! I can get into manual mode now. Always held the buttons too ling until it would reboot, thanks for the suggestion.
Cleared the cache and reset a few times and now it's working. Thanks! Now back to re rooting and installing the rom again.

Either wait 20 minutes or reboot in recovery by hold power+volume up+home buttons all at the same time and wipe cache and factory reset. Then reboot.

Ah oops. I read it with the volume down my bad. Just wiped cache then factory reset/wiped data. Its installing applications right now thanks!
You didn't wait long enough after flashing. Android is still in the process of initializing the os after a fresh flash and takes a while. If you'd have left it alone it would have eventually booted.
