How to root Celkon A97i (Android 4.0.3)

Hi folks,
I was able to root Celkon A97i by using the software UnlockRoot from www dot unlockroot dot com.
Caution: I did this rooting for my mobile. I am not responsible if anyone bricks or does something wrong with their mobile. This post is only for your information. Be aware.

Can you please tell us how you were able to install celkon A97i drivers? I tried installing "MT6573 ADB drivers" but the cell phone was still not detected.I am using Win XP SP3.

Already rooted my Celkon A97i but dont know how to backuprestore rom
I rooted.Super user app running fine.plz help me how to backup my stock rom.and procedure to restore either new/stock rom again .if i bricked my device.

Is there anything to worry about if i fail ? :/
EDIT: One more thing, will roms of a110 work on this as both phones have almost same specs? Also, i think i should try by a110 method instead of a68 one.

Flashing stuff from any other phone than yours can ruin your phone and brick it. Don't ever try that again, or you may have to regret, if you don't have a backup. Root methods can be generic, but stuff like clockworkmod (or cwm) recovery and ROMs from a different phone would NEVER EVER work on your phone unless someone ports it to your device.
And btw, I noticed that the link you posted to the root method of A110 you used was a blatant copy from my rooting guide for A110,lol: http://www.droidiser.com/2012/11/micromax-a110-rooted-how-to-guide.html

Now, I want to install CWM desperately on my device. But you are saying that i can brick my phone doing so.
But as mmx a110 has a same spec, even then my phone can be bricked?

you can root a3+ by vroot 1.7.6
but sorry this phone won't get any updates

if i were u i would try a later version of cyanogen if u can get it to download or maybe a MIUI-tho normally they can be unstable n buggy iv always kinda liked em check it out

Hello guys,
Need a little help here,
I bought Xolo q1010i 10 days back and i am very desperate to root it but the problem is, it comes with kitkat os and i am unable to find a method to root it.. Being a new member, i cant post this to the development thread but i think i can get help here too... I tried flashing CWM recovery and carliv touch recovery(in the development threads), but i cant flash it.. it gives me "PMT for this ROM has been changed" error.. i messaged the OP's of the respective posts but to no avail..
Help me out guys..

1. install Carliv Touch Recovery by Chirag Jain's here is link
2. than flash the UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.00.zip
The UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.00.zip works for all the roms as a root tool.

I have Xolo Q1010i with Android 4.4.2 and this app this did work to root the phone ..hope to find a alternative for this soon:fingers-crossed:

Isn't there any method other than flashing that zip file for rooting the kitkat build of xolo q1010i?

I dont find this phone worth rooting...the stock ROM is buggy and not stable..here is my feedback regarding the phone
Display is too bright even if you set it up on the lowest brightness..it tends have a whitish tinge.
Phone take a hell lot of time to charge..
Audio quality or output is the the worst I have heard so far.
Bottom Line : Am selling this phone for a loss of 3K after 3 month of usage...the only good point about this phone was the camera which is impressive.

Yes I too agree that the brightness is much higher compared to other phones even when at lowest but I am using an application named darker for lowering the brightness thus extending the battery life.

Downgrade to 4.2.2 Jelly Bean
Hello guys
I am new to this and need expert advice on the below.
I have purchased xolo q1010i which came with kitkat 4.4.2 out of the box. However, I am facing serious problem with the network 3G, battery charging problem. Also, unlike jelly bean in kitkat we cannot move the icons as per our desire or hide the applications. I am thinking to flash it for 4.2.2 jellybean. As my phone came with kitkat out of the box, is it possible to flash it to 4.2.2 jellybean. Experts, kindly advice and also the proceedure. If any other advice without rooting the phone would be of great help!

Hi Bopanna,
I had this phone for some time however I sold it as it did not meet my requirement.Downgrading to 4.2.2 will be possible once you have a root access or you will have to try flashing the original stock Android 4.2.2 using the flash tool. requirements: android one smartphone (any)
kingo root.
it will void your warranty. i am not responsible for bricked devices and thermo nuclear wars . do it at your own risk.
•install kingo root as normal apk.
•open
•press green button
•then press blue button
•last step to reboot the device.

don't know if framaroot worked or not .
kingoroot helped for me.
the reason for framroot was my second choice was that it many exploits which can even brick your device if you choose wrong.
i find kingo much safer ... every have its own taste

1. To root i need to unlock bootloader, will this show a tamper sign? If yes, how to get rid of it?
2. Will root allow me to install updates pushed by Google? If not, what can i do to have them?

Hi,
If you root your phone you cant install pushed update, (may be update available in Rare cases)
You have to download and flash the updated ROM separately (some members will post the entire ROM with update, later)
If you already rooted your phone you can visit this link and re-flash the ROM

For now camera had some bugs, hope it will be rectified with Android L (Google will update very soon)

1. U keep yapping about kingo root but gave link to king root
2. The link doesnt work
3. The method doesnt work (download the app from developers site)

And yes, Framaroot doesnt work too.
As far as i know the only working is method is varun chitre's method. Unlocking bootloader, adbside load etc.
