Just a few Questions regarding unlocking the bootloader. - HTC One X

hi guys,
after six months of owning my wonderful one x i have decided to unlock it's bootloader and tweaking it to my hearts desire! However i have a few questions i would like to ask just before i dive in.
1. Is there any rom that currently supports usb OTG?(preferably cm10 official nightly).
2. Can someone explain the relevance of the hboot version to the rom i'm flashing and, if needed how do you update the hboot after an unlock?
3.How is cm 10 running on our hox is there any significant issues?
4. I'm currently on o2 UK is it possible to install a jb rom on my device?
And finally is there anything else i have to know before unlocking?
Regards.

1. Any JB-Sense ROM supports USB OTG
2. Download the firmware.zip for your CID and flash it in fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
3. Just a few minor and hardly notice issues
4. No , as you don't have the hboot version for JB-ROMs .
It might void your warranty although you can relock the bootloader .

What about the non sense roms do they need the new h-boot?

If it's AOSP / AOKP then no .

Question about roms and versions

I was just wanting to know, since I'm still on the old Asia WWE 1.28.707.10 if I use one of the newer 1.29.xxx.11 built roms will I benefit from the features of 1.29.xxx.xx upgrade, like I would on an OTA. So basically what I'm asking will it be almost like I did an upgrade to my phone will my storage and other issues be fixed with a newer rom?
Hopefully you will understand what I'm trying to get at, because I tired of waiting on this upgrade.
Thanks for the help!
afaik you cant flash rom for other region.
Sorry for the misunderstanding what I was getting at was if I flash a custom rom will I see the benifits of the software upgrades that I have not received yet. Im ULOCKED AND ROOTED right now. If I was to use say leedroid or revolution would I see the benefits of the 1.29.40x.xx upgrade since the rom is based onn that base. Hopefully that was easier to understand. I want the benifits of the newer software because I'm still on 1.28.707.10 WWE Asia and its outdated I lost 10GB and haven't used that much. So will the custom Roms fix the problems I have now or do I have to wait untill I'm on 1.29.707.xx before I will see the benifits?

[ROM][07/10]HTC One maXimus V4.1 | Android 4.1.1 | Sense 4+ |Fast&Stable| One X+ Base
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1601543
Hi folks,
Please don't hate because I ask stupid questions, I really did not found an answer:
I bought a new HTC One X and want to install Leedroid Custom ROM on it as I was very satisfied with Leedroid on my old HTC Desire. But: If there would be a warranty issue on my One X, I would have to send it back for repair. And they will only repair my device, if the stock ROM is installed - am I right? So I want to know how to recover back to my stock ROM, before I install Leedroid.
I found this: (url removed because I have under 10 posts, please google for "HTC One X: How to revert to stock recovery" including quotes, first result).
My question is: After this process described in the link above, is it really like it was before flashing a custom new rom? Is it then also unrooted again? Would they repair the phone, if there would be a warranty issue?
Thanks!
No, it's relocked not locked. So they can tell it has been unlocked.
This is not always a problem, buy sometimes it is.
ah, so the phone can be in 3 states: locked, unlocked, relocked?
but it is more likely no problem?
*push*
how likely is it to get problems when sending a RElocked phone for warranty repair? sorry I can not find information/reports about this anywhere. if anybody knows a good answer/thread/link please let me know!
thanks.
If you have some trouble with your Hardware (Display, WLAN,etc) there will be mostly no Problems with the warranty. But if there were Problems with your Hardware in cause of bad Software, there could be troubles with the warranty.
Right, there are 3 states: locked, unlocked and relocked

Yes, thats my case. I want to go back to CM10 and AOKP roms. There are not many good roms who support the 1.31 hboot yet.
I tryied the PA rom based on cm10, dosnt work with hboot 1.31. The only roms who works are Android revolutions hd, cm10_endeavoru-ota-eng.noeri with working gps, wifi.
i dont want stock sense rom, i want a good custom rom, clean rom.
Is there a way to do this with s-off? Any guides who may work on htc one x?
Super thanks!

you simply can't... no S-OFF no downgrade... S-OFF is not possible for now
Because my phone is f*cked up, maybe I'll try to downgrade to H-BOOT 0.95 soon. And what happened? The screen is not pretty much of the time, sometimes it doesn't work, only softbuttons are light up.
THERE IS A WAY TO INSTALL EVERY AOSP Rom available there
at CyanogenMOD 10 "SE" you will havw link for a kernel to run CM10-SE , you can use this kernel for ever AOSP out there to make it run on your HTC One X , you need to follow these steps
1- Flash any AOSP from from Recovery as usual after wiping for sure
2- Dont reboot and use that provided kernel and flash it also inside recovery
3- Reboot into bootloader FastBoot and flash the boot.img inside there kernel as its called "boot_1.23_1.28_hboot_v1.0 " you can rename it as boot.img for easier installing as that for newer hboots and its compaitable with CM10-SE kernel which at this point compaitable with the kernel you have just flashed
but as it indicated it dosent have a functional GPS
with these steps I have been able to try all AOSP Roms
If you need to get the GPS running you may like to try the same above steps using TripNRaVeR flashable kernel zip
I hope that would help you

but since they have managed to find the way to get the gps back for the new hboots at TripNRaVeR Kernel ,im sure it will be available also for other kernels in anytime soon , , so let us wait and cross our fingers here , lucky me I have never needed the GPS here at my country
Well.. we all who have the 1.31 hboot needs to wait for a good performance and batterylife rom.
I really love vanilla rom = With out sense !
I dont know why but on the CM10 or AOKP roms all games working smoothless, buttersmooth! But with all sense roms, you get framedrops and sometimes slow. Why? i dont know why, even with jelly bean sense roms.
That is the diffrence of sense roms and CM10 graficperformance? Are there a way to go for another kernel on jellybean sense rom?
Thanks, hope for a good answer
I have the same problem, i flashed the Renovate rom and used the remove sense launcher and install themed framwork option to get rid of rosie and the ugly notification center... I use it in combination with Nova Launcher, and i must say, i like it!
You still have the default sense apps like music, mail etc, but i prefer them above the aosp variants so thats no problem for me

[Q] My One X Customization

Hi Experts.
I recently got a HTC One X, it is the UK Orange version, and i live and use it in India.
android ver - 4.04
sense - 4.1
softwre no - 2.17.61.3
htc sdk api - 4.23
kernel - 2.6.39.4
i had installed a custom rom to my Incredible S couple of months back.
and with a lot of courage, i have Rooted my brand new HOX
now.. i really like to know -
1 - which stock like Rom do you experts suggest for my model ( shouldnt be much different from stock, but faster, with mods & without bloatware & Latest)
2 - should i also flash my radio? How? which one?
Any other mods that you suggest for better battery management, faster.
please .. i know that similar questns are asked, but this is more specific.
Post links, and that would suffice
waiting desperately
someone?? anyone?? plz help....
I would recommend the viperX Rom to you from team venom. It's great. Probably the best Rom in the way of tweaks. Download that then do the OTA updates. I also like to recommend the bricked kernel as it has a swipe to wake option and with vipers tweaks you can easily overclock and change frequencies the best ics in my opinion

I would agree.. ViperX rom is one of the best sense based ROMs out there. There is loads of customisation options.
Also another great ROM would be AndroidRevolution HD.

Give a try to latest insertcoin rom (13).
Furthermore if u want:
In a fileexplorer (es explorer or solid explorer) go to root folder -system-apps and delete unneeded apps with caution (u need to know what u are doing). If u want i can create a minimized version of it 4 u and upload it... (whithout medialink, htc location, video editor, stock wallpapers, without live wallpapers and all that crap - at least i like it without them). Then u'll get a perfectly sleak rom.
I tried maximus rom, venom, renovate, revolution HD...
Believe me, this one is the smoothest around...
So long story short, let me know if you want my lighter version of insertcoin.

[Q] One X alternate rom options

Hi everyone...I recently got a hold of a one X with CID ORANG001. Pretty much all ICS ROMs will work, which means the older versions of the ROMs located in Development section. Also, all CM10, AOSP, AOKP ROMs will work on older hboots. First you need to unlock the bootloader of your device. You can look around for more instructions.
Every ics + aosp+aokp+cm bassed roms

Correct.
For changing cid we need s-off which doesn't seem to be achieved any time soon.
