One thing i want to ask, if your cid is carrier branded (OPTUS001 like mine). will you be able to flash jellybean or android revolution HD? or will you bee able to change it?
and do you flash the boot.img after of before you flash the rom?

2. Wipe -> flash boot.img -> flash ROM

Thanks, then what to do? This is regretably my first time and I would like to run a fast custom rom. What are my options after these next steps? Or if nothing, how can I just go back to how my phone was the day I purchased it (basically, working)

If you already download matching nandroid backup for your cid, just extract the zip file in folder clockworkmod/backup WITHOUT renaming it. Copy the boot.img from that folder to your working folder on your pc. Flash the boot.img. Then restore the backup in recovery.

sorry for being such a noob but i really can't put things together on this....
I just got my one x yesterday and it has all the singapore and thai language and keyboard but i want the euro version the store i bought it from knows nothing about his or what to do.....also my storage only shows 10GB!!!! shouldn't be 32??? so i read about it and from what i understand that a software change might fix this as well.
so my software number shows 3.14.707.24 and i m downloading now the RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_JB_45_S_HTC_Europe_3.14.401.27_Radio_5.1204.162.29_release_298897_signed.exe)
my radio in bootloader shows the same radio number here and my hboot is 1.36000.
so please help me out on this one, is the file that i am downloading now possible to install on my one x? no boot loader unlock or root just plain stock rom installation, is it possible??? thank you very much.

Basically i cant find my RUU and i need to return my phone for hardward issuses crappy simtray and wifi but i cant return it to stock so im wondering does anyone know what would happen if i returned it with a custom rom installed??
Im on O2 UK and had my phone for about 5 months but recently my sis got a one x too and its so much better reception never cuts out and wifi signal is like 100% stronger so i dont know what to do is it worth returning it to O2 with a custom rom or will they be like immediately oh its unlocked and custom romed your hardware isnt covered? anyone had any similar dealings??
You might be able to bring it to stock, get your cid and main version and check if the nandroid collection thread in the general section has your matching nandroid backup

Bro, the RUU will just be an .exe file you can install that automatically brings your One X to stock, if I recall you don't need to do anything in CWM.
You will need to relock the bootloader though I think.

Right , just use the nandroid and my link to the stock recovery. If Ben says its the same i believe him, but i'm still looking for the clue
Version is the same so it won't be a problem. And if you run into a problem there are always people that will help
Edit : Mr Ben Pope seems to have made a little mistake in reading

What is your CID?? and version??
If there is a JB ruu for you, you can go to stock JB . You cant use a ruu that is based on the 2.17 or lower. You have an updated Hboot so going back to stock ICS with a ruu is impossible......
You can run a ics stock rom and flash the stock recovery after and relock the bootloader, then it seems you are on stock but only with a updated Hboot. That's the closest to stock ICS you can get !

How to get back to Stock One X

Hi there,
now I really need your help,
I read the thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859714
But fastboot returns
version-main: 1.28.207.9
I can`t find a RUU for that?
So is it right that if I don`t have a nandroid-backup, I can`t return to stock at the moment?
What's your cid ? Is it a branded or a unbranded device ?
Do fastboot command

Thank you
Its a branded device ! Your cid starts with O2
---------- Post added at 02:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:03 PM ----------
What you can try to do is to flash a nandroid backup matching your cid number, the nandroid will have a higher software number so it will start with 2.17.207.**. Do a full wipe and restore that nandroid with the boot.img and after that you flash back the 2.17 stock recovery and you are back on stock to obtain the JB update !

Ok, there is one existing.

What I am wondering about, I bought the device without a contract, so it should be unbranded.
This device is my girlfriends, I bought the same device in another store and my cid is HTC__102...
Strange ? HTC__102 is unbranded yes, O2__102 is from a carrier if i'm not mistaken ! Otherwise it also should be HTC__102
You bought it from a store ? Or second hand ? And you are running it with the O2 carrier ?

Well actually not that i know of ! The fastboot command gives the real cid from the phone and not a software generated cid number !
Now you are on stock 2.17 software .... if you flash back the 2.17 stock recovery you are also ready to update to JB when the provider rolls it out !
This is the stock 2.17 recovery

I hope some other people find this thread useful, too.
Hello friends, I really don't know if this is the correct thread but I will give it a try ...I bought an HTC ONE X and my problem is that I took the phone from a friend of mine and it had ARHD installed already (with hboot 1.28.0000 and 3.14.401.600 and HTC__01).
I managed to flash hboot 1.39.0000 and I download RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_JB_45_S_HTC_Europe_3.14.401.27_Radi o_5.1204.162.29_release_298897_signed.exe !! I am trying to flash the stock rom as you understand but whatever I did I get error in the update process of the RUU (error 55, then 155 I think). My bootloader is relocked right now and I really don't know what to do. I have search a lot of topics, I am reading from yesterday but I can't make the phone work. Should I flash something else (like boot.img) ??
Many thanks for your help.

You updated the hboot to 1.39 and i think the ruu comes with hboot 1.36 so that's a downgrade to the hboot and that is not possible ! I think that's why you get an error !
You should unlock the bootloader again and flash the custom recovery and then flash a custom rom......or a stock like custom rom....

Orange branded JB update released!

Just popped up on my One X in the UK. Installing now. Looks the same as the other updates (360-odd MB.) At last! Version is 3.16.61.6
Edit - Now installed & feels great. Things I've noticed Orange have done:
- Browser icon changed to previous Orange icon (grrr!)
- Apps now include "Best Deals" (no idea - will disable), HTC Media Link HD (sure it wasn't there before)
Kernel is 3.1.10-g0867ccf
Yes, just got this myself too. There is also a "Lookout Security" app and a "Power Saver" feature. Will try that instead of Juice Defender for a while and see what happens.
OMG i just can't believe it, they said on FB "early new year", and now that suprise
now i have to back to stock and install it
Good news - glad to hear. Thanks.

Have you got the 1.29.061.11 ruu? If so all you have to do is relock your bootloader and then run it. If it won't run while your booted for some reason do it while your in fastboot.

When I use command "getvar version-main" showes me 2.17.61.3 When I try to install RUU there is an erreo "Error 140: Bootloader version error".
Hi all,
I have a branded Orange HTC One X ORANG001.
I can't find any updates when I check for them and I'm stock, any ideas?
Thanks

From reading the instructions I need to flash Clock WorkMod, then do the Nandroid stuff is that right?
I've already got a relocked bootloader as I did have ARHD.
Could you give me some idiot proof instructions? The ones in that post don't seem to be overly friendly to people who aren't familiar with this. Many thanks
Don't worry it was my first time too
I believe you know how to use te commend line and fastboot commends
1. Unlock your bootloader
2. Flash CWM recovery
3. Download the Nandroid Backup 2.17.61.3 CID ORANG001 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140
4. Create folder in sdcard of your HOX (your sdcard\clockworkmod\backup\ put here unpacked nandroid "2012-12-22.14.26.42"
5. Copy boot.img from nandroid folder to fastboot folder in your PC
6. Flash the boot.img
7. Go to CWM and "Backup&Restore" -> "Restore", confirm you want restore it and thats it
8. Now you have only to flash stock recovery and relock bootloader
I hope you can understand my instruction, my english isn't perfect
Thank you for this, I'm gunna give it a go when I get home

[Q] htc restarts after o2

Try going back to stock Rom and locking the bootloader. Then do the whole process again.

Why do difficult !!! I can't watch this any longer
Give the outcome of this fastboot command
Fastboot getvar version-main
From there we will check or for a ruu, or for a new stock nandroid backup you need to restore.
In the easiest way we flash the standalone firmware to upgrade the hboot itself and then flash a JB rom !
The system you have running now won't come back to life......
EDIT : I have seen this behavior before on O2.

Look for your CID and download a recovery and restore it with cwm.

Please ! A recovery is totally different than a NANDROID BACKUP !
AND GET YOUR MAIN VERSION NUMBER. there are actually different main numbers for the same CID !
O2__001 has 2 main versions the 206 and the 207. The only way to get you updated now is to flash the firmware and install a JB rom. But we need the MAIN VERSION !
