I just soft bricked my phone. Trying to patch the kernel for usb otg support. Must have been the wrong one---- or for ICS only. Anyway, tar for Cyanogen 4.1 or something to get me back up? I would search harder but I am doing this through wifes phone. Thanks!
Look in the Dev forum for the download you need. It's on page 1.
Note: Mods make Q/A forums for a reason, lol.

There is no such thing as a 4.x tar file for the Samsung Epic 4G. The last tar this phone has is 2.3 GB.

Tar files are official ROMs from Samsung. Since E4G has reached EOL at Sprint, the last version it receives is the FC19 Gingerbread 2.3.6 released on March 19th. Find that in the dev section.
As for JB... You know how to CWM and flash that afterwards
Sent from Nokia N900 w/ Android 2.3.7
Actually the official final release is FC09. The FC19 was a leak possibly back up plan.

Sorry if I'm posting in wrong section.
Today I successfully installed Leaked OTA ICS update IMM26 on my NS4G. It's great but to my disappointment Flash based apps are not working properly. Some Flash based apps are working fine (e.g. Veetle) but many others, especially browsers, are not handling it well at all. The reason perhaps is that many apps haven't yet been optimized for ICS. I'm addicted to all these apps.
Please tell me if there is a way to downgrade to Stock Gingerbread.
NOTE: I have unlocked bootloader but unsuccessful in getting root because SU works up to 4.0.3 only.
Thanks everyone.

This belongs in questions and answers.
But there's a one click (not really one) restore to stock in this forum. I believe its using Odin.
Just look thru the threads and you'll find the instructions.

not sure why you thought this was development...
But yes you can... Just wipe (everything) then install a gb rom. That is if you just did a cwm install of ics.

Yea...theres a thread about that already. It will upgrade you baseband (modem)...lockscreen (ICS look) and other minor stuff. This is mostly about upgrades your modem. It works great on my phone. Im getting better signal. If u are root you gonna be stock after upgrade but you can root your device again using same method. It still will be on gb 2.3.6

Questions go in the Q&A section
I have been on the El22, rooted and unlocked with an ACS rom that runs the samurai modem (havent updated phone in a while). how outdated am i?
is the El30 the latest update? what is the best way to update? i always forget waht i should do after not being part of the community for so long.
A simple google or a browse through development would show you FC09 is the latest or a check of Sprint's site for the latest firmware.
Also questions go in Q&A where this has been answered with another thread.

Thanks I had seen that post. But am holding off on putting Jelly Bean on the phone. was just trying to find the FG01 odin. It doesn't look like anyone has a copy of it. Of course I can go back to the FD02 release and upgrade from there.
Here is the Odin you requested. Is in the Sprint Gnex Dev thread.... I like to help instead of just scold, but search and thee shall find:thumbup:

I've got a rooted device.. stock gnex otherwise. How can I get the 4.2 ZIP flashed?
Thanks!
Download mod. Install cwm or twrp and flash not too hard
Also there are tons of ROMs with all 4.2 modifications I suggest you try some out
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I suggest before doing anything, read the stickies found in general and q&a by efrant, for example. How to return to stock and android 101.
Unlock bootloader. Then wait for the source for 4.2 to drop, you can count hours after that till someone posts a build.
