Hi!
I've installed Fast Five on my xperia ion but I've putted the sd data to my external memory... But the game doesn't look after it on the sd just in the internal memory :S What should I do? I won't root it or something!
Thanks!
yes root and an app called directory bind
It must have bootloader unlocked to root, mustn't it?
Game data goes in the file called /data/data which I think needs root to gain access to it

NO. You do NOT need unlocked bootloader to root the Ion. Check the sticky threads in general for guides

I can move any app I like to the SD card using manage applications. My question is what's the point of Link2SD in these circumstances, does it offer better performance than just moving some apps to the existing SD card?
Thanks
Yes, it automatically mounts a ext partition from Your SD card and installs apps there, there's no need to move them after a install.
Link2SD is a much better method than Apps2SD.
Much more data of app installation is moved (dex, lib, apk, data). Not just apk files like App2SD.
Because they are 'linked' you can use USB storage mode without losing functionality of any apps.
It uses it's own SD partition, so doesn't hog up the memory card when you don't want it to.
Saves you loads more internal memory.
Ok thanks guys, I'll give it a go when my new memory card arrives.
Definitley, an excellent tutorial on using Link2SD can be found here

Nope, you don't need S-OFF. Mine is S-ON and it works just fine. You just need to unlock the bootloader and then root.
Hey
I have a few apps on my SD card and this morning at random I recieved the "low on space" Message in my notifications area
It is driving me crazy and wondering why this could be as I have 41MB free.
I am rooted with the bootloader unlocked and I have not installed any app for a few days at least.
I have the add more space mod maybe this is just eye candy rather than actual space freed up.
Other than being rooted and bootloader unlocked I have stock .62 firmware with only reboot mod and some fonts replaced etc
If it is still there tomorrow evening I will just reflash my firmware however I would rather not need to
Thanks in advance,

Your phone is rooted and unlocked. Theres a way to format a partition on your sd to act like a internal memory. May that helps. Google it, i have seen a guide before

You can use tb and integrate some apps into ROM.
I use root explorer to check the space in system, then use titatium backup to move apps as system apps then push to ROM.

There's a well written Link2SD article written on Xperiablog.net. I've followed that and no longer have any memory issues.

If you mean can you still use them and update them then yes.....I have flash player, gmail, maps and other apps I cant remember I pushed to Rom and they still update ok.
By doing this you get extra internal space.
don't use all system space as I got fc 's when I had 10mb left

Hey guys, noob here. So, i wanted to do something new with my xperia PLAY and decided to unlock the bootloader without completely understanding what its for and the risks it came with. Basically, i wanted to use the jelly bean rom and went through some tutorials and unlocked the bootloader. But when i turned on the phone everything was gone! my contacts, messages, call log, etc! But everything in my SD card is still there but only seen when connected to the PC. The apps don't show up in my phone anymore!! My complete phone memory wiped out! Is there any way to get back or restore all my personal data?? PLEASE HELP!!
This did happen when I unlocked my bootloader aswell.
I think this is normal.
xperia play
i think you dont have the option to recover your lost data on the internal memory check out this thread it says when you unlock your bootloader This will wipe your internal storage (/data) but not your SD Card but try to do some research !!

I think that is not possible, sadly. I've tried even with root, but Link2SD doesn't worked for me.

Hello if you are new
Basically Xpera M doesn't have that option sadly
You can root via Towelroot.
Here is a link
https://www.dropbox.com/s/5lx7uvky1tl2mrq/tr.apk
(Not my work)
After you root you can install GltoSd and mount the game/app data to an SD card
Hope I helped.

Ok then try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711280
Format only if your SDCARD isn't FAT32. If it is FAT32, formatting won't be necessary.
