Not 100 % sure but I think if you've upgraded to 4.3 and rooted again with cf autoroot you have to then update su from playstore to get root back. I think it downloads the update which you flash through recovery and that's what it's asking you. As i said I'm not 100% Dr ketan's guides are always the best answer

When you want to root you can use CF to root.
When boot into android you need to update SuperSU first.
Then open SuperSU app and update. When app is asking you yo disable KNOX do it. Then it will work
And to root you need this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1933542

[Q] lost root still have supersu installed

yesterday I upgraded to 4.1.2 from my t mobile s3.. and now that when I try to open any root applications like titanium backup and greenify it says root access needed. I downloaded root checker.. and it says *you have no proper root access*.. I don't know how the supersu is still installed?? and it can not be uninstalled..? I tried to uninstall from the settings and asked me to reboot.. but still supersu was there? can anyone tell me how to permanently uninstall it so that I can root my phone again and clean install a supersu?
note: I did not have any custom rom installed. . was just having root access and supersu. .
How did you update? I'm guessing you have no custom recovery so if you want to keep everything stock but just have root, then flash the MD5 or respective root66 image for your phone in Odin

Just because you have Supersu does not mean you are rooted. What is the version after update ?

I updated from the notification bar on my mobile.. and yeah I did not have custom recovery either. . should I just root my phone again? I don't know what to do.. I have frozen some of the bloatware from titanium and I can't get them back? even after force stopping titanium backup.. ?
thanks.. I force stopped supersu and disabled it from there.. and it gone away..

If you want to root it use cf-auto root to root, re-enable supersu if you decide to do this

Root problem.

Hey all,
I believe there is a problem with the root in my brother's phone.
It is rooted, CWM 6 touch, and Cm 11 kitkat.
So the problem is now that any app that requires root does not work! The superuser is installed and it gives me the notification whether to grant the app root access or not. So I allow the app to access the root but it does not function correctly.
For example the GameCIH, I give it root access and try to change a value in any game but it does not work.
Also the MacSpoof.
It used to work perfectly before (Tried to flash cwm6 and I soft bricked it but then fixed it all. Thanks to the help of some users in xda)
So what seems to be the problem and how can I fix it?
Thanks in advance.
Edit: Sorry I should have posted this in trouble shooting and help section.

I actually did a couple of times but it didn't work. I tried wiping everything and flashing other cwm and rom but still same results.
Thanks for replying.
try re-flash using ODIN
Try supersu 1.93. It has option to root/unroot and is the leading root app
install from playstore or get flashable ZIP here.

Maybe the SU Binary is outdated ?
reflash your root, problem solved.. the problem is only the root access.. try to update app and binary. want simple, reflash root, or even reflash root. greets

Flashback?

I think I need to do a Flashback on my Tablet so I can truly root it. I've tried a few ways to root it and all have failed. SuperUser won't open at all. Tried to Towelroot, even tried Stump Root and Stump says the device is already rooted, but I know it's not...
Just noticed I posted this in the wrong forum.

Got CWM into come up, but can't find the SU Zip file... So I just did the reboot from CWM... Now all it does is run a bit slower. SU trys to open, but stats Binary issues. Nothing changed, but slower device now.

When I got CWM opened I did a System wipe factory reset.
Then tried to use towelroot again... Didn't work...
Every link I found to SU was to the google play store... not a Zip folder...

Ok was able to run the SU Zip through CWM and had it rebooted after it was completed. Once it was on. I looked around on the Tablet and SU isn't installed. Running Root Checker Pro and it says the Devices appears to be running very Slow... Been on this screen for a few mins already.
Edit: Went back into CWM and Re-Booted... When I clicked on it a new page loaded and had an option to Fix Root... Choose it and Re-booted.
Downloaded SU from Google Play and it worked now... HUGE THANKS....
Well Crap... Says it's rooted. Xmod is getting Permission from Super User.. Mod installed in the Game... launch from xMod and the Game Crashes.
Ok opened SU and it triggered KNOX... Clicked to let SU to try and disable KNOX.... Been on that Screen for 5min so far...I also get a Security Notice Stating Unauthorized access to a secured area has been blocked.
..........................................................................
Unistalled SU and Restalled it. Let SU try and Fix KNOX again... Fixed it in just a Few Seconds.
Wroking 100% Now. The last issue was with XMod not the root.
BIG THANKS

Please Help a Noob Here

I've rooted my device a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 model#SM-217S unsuccessfully but can't get the SuperUser application to install properly. I used the Kingroot app to root it originally. Now I can't add the SU application. I can get into the TWRP recovery which I am assuming that it's been rooted.
Not sure what to do here at this point
Thanks
Try installing a SU app manually? (Superuser/SuperSU on Google Play)
It may ask you to update SU binary trough recovery, creating a zip for you to flash
flash this through twrp and thank me in the morning
