Has anybody ported the DayDream mode from 4.2 to non 4.2 phones? If you are not sure what that mode is here is a link explaining it.
http://www.phonearena.com/news/Feature-Android-4.2-Daydream-mode_id36641
I have Llama setup to do this for me right now. I have an event that is triggered by the phone being plugged into the charger and it lauches the Clock application (I installed the 4.2 Clock). The problem I have is I manually have to put the clock into "Night Mode" and while its not a big deal, it looks like the DayDream mode would do all this for me. Also if my phone is locked the Clock application doesnt override the lock screen (It did when I had my GNex setup the same way).
try this, it may help u...

After searching the forums, I see that landscape mode while in the home screen is not something that exists on the Galaxy Nexus. However the other day I put my Verizon Galaxy Nexus in the Verizon car dock (sideways to use navigation) and the screen jumped to landscape mode! I started music then navigator, drove off, arrived at my destination, removed my phone, and it has not happened since.
Has anyone had this happen? Is it a glitch or a hidden feature?
I tried to place the phone against my old Droid 1 dock and the magnets in it had no effect on the G-Nex.
Stock rooted.
Thanks!
The car dock will put the launcher in landscape but you need an alternative launcher to achieve this effect without the dock.
It's the same if you use the MHL -> HDMI cable, your screen then goes to Landscape mode.
Have u tried Orientation Control from the Market?
Don't have a Galaxy Nexus but if you want to set how the homescreen behaves (always portrait/ always automatic orientation change), I would recommend using Nova Launcher. It is basically the standard ICS launcher with extended settings (i.e. for screen rotation).

What does that do exactly?

U can use it to force landscape.
I use it on my GTV...
You can also use Rotation Locker: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.devasque.rotationlocker&hl=en
Even though the Dev doesn't necessarily intend it to work this way (see thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1412752 ), if I set it to Portrait, Auto-Rotate, or Landscape, just about every app (including the stock launcher) on my G-Nex locks to Portrait, Auto-Rotate, or Landscape, respectively.
Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has seen or heard of a horizontal/landscape docking station / stand for the HTC One. All I see is the portrait one, but I use my phone as an alarm clock as well, and it would be really cool if the alarm app would automatically switch on when it senses it's in a landscape holder of some type. My Original Google Droid had such a holder, and my wife's Sony Xperia Play (don't laugh) also had this accessory.
Alarm clock apps are supposed to be viewed in landscape mode. I have searched on the web, and I don't even see references to even a future product. I thought maybe someone on this forum might have some inside info, unless I overlooked something.
Thanks again for any replies.
Alberto
Just picked up a Otterbox Defender and the belt clip rotates and snaps open to hold your phone in a landscape layout.
The problem is that Sense 5.0 doesn't come with a desktop clock mode like you get in stock Android. HTC doesn't make a desktop dock for the phone, so nothing happens when you plug it into a power source.
I just use a portrait dock and have Tasker launch a desk clock app.

Through HTC Media Link HD there is a horizontal Sense mode so there is probably a way to force this through some tweaks i suppose.
Maybe Trickdroid has that function in the Tweaks app or maybe ViperOne. Haven't tried it though only with Media link HD.
Can't test it myself currently cause i'm at a GPe rom.
Or put the phone in Car mode

Hi,
I really miss daydream since having the quickcircle case.
You can turn on daydream but once you close the door it turns the screen off. If the screen could somehow be set to stay on when in daydream mode Im sure it would be very easy to make a quick circle daydream using an existing daydream app that supports themes.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

I'm hoping this will come in a future update or mod. I would like to see the circle clock through the case at all times while charging...I am a bit surprised this was not integrated with daydream at launch. Also hoping other apps will support quick circle like Spotify. Though to be honest, since i'm also using android wear, I'm not going to get much use out of the case other than screen protection and wireless charging most of the time.

the problem is that we don't know where the quickcircle main ui is being saved once that is found it would be a lot easier (my guess is lgsystemui or lglockscreen, but I don't have the time to investigate)

losing your mind maybe? lol I know auto rotate won't work on TW when you are home. I have NOVA launcher and it works just fine.
nova settings, look & feel and screen orientation annnnd BAM!

yeah, I know that.. I actually had nova on there, but I did not have the "screen rotation" quick setting enabled, so nova wasn't doing squat.. fortunately, I got help from @sweets55 and that was all I needed!
landscape issues
I'm also having this problem but I shouldn't have to replace TW with Nova in order to view my photos in Landscape mode this is the first phone I've ever owned with this issue also in order to watch a movie I've downloaded on my phone in landscape mode I have to turn off screen rotation then hit the screen rotate option in the video app that is only available to you if you turn off the main screen rotation setting this is utter insanity
If I try and view the Internet in landscape mode it locks there and the only way to get it to go back is to close it completely
this has got to be a software problem because I had the techs at the Sprint store check the sensors and they are working correctly
Samsung needs to get an update out like yesterday
Is there any way to tweak the phone so that the home screen can be displayed in landscape like a tablet? This would be useful for when using at my desk, especially with the USB cable connected.
Edit: I have found play store apps to do this, but they don't work well with Zen launcher's dock and app tray.
OK, have got this sorted by myself - just needed to use Nova launcher together with an app that forces landscape.
Apologies for talking to myself, but this is what I ended up with, just in case anyone else fancies doing similar. The app is called "Set Orientation".

May i ask what app did you use to force landscape? Ty
"Set Orientation" - it's small, simple and free.
I am a very stupid Android noob. The Nova launcher allows you to force landscape (screen orientation is under "look & feel" in the Nova settings menu. No need for an app.
