You can install the file i attached
then choose install cwm 5
now you have recovery v 5.0.2.7
if you wanna to update you can open cwm auto installer and choose v 5.5.0.4
but really i use the old version it is best than the new version has shutdown phone and erase card but as u like
that is the easy way i always use and the success way for arc s

Hi ...
I have Xperia arc s (LT18i) I have rooted it and downloaded rom on it (Xperia Ultimate HD™ 2.0)
and every thing worked perfectly ...
then I installed Font Changer to change system font ..
I tried few fonts .. but when I tried one of them (it always ask to reboot) the phone got stuck at xperia logo ...
I tried few solutions (reinstalling the ROM, wipe dalvik cache, wipe battery stats, Wipe data/factory reset)
and every time I reboot nothing change ..
then I tried to do these things (format /system, format/data, format cache) and then reboot ...
the phone got stuck on sony logo and been unable to run CMW ...
so if any one have a solution I will be so thankful ...

flash stock rom, root, install cwm and install xperia ultimate hd.

will the phone boot after flashing the rom to root it ??

download rootable lt18 stock ics and then flash this to your arc s. Here is a tutorial on how to flash with the program 'Flashtool'. After, root phone with this. And then install Ultimate HD

Yes you can use that, but you must flash this kernel after you flash that stock firmware to root.

By the way, you can not root .587 you have to download .562 or like mentioned before just flash 562 kernel, root and then flash back to 587 kernel. But I think easier should be to download .562 firmware and then just root.

The easiest method is with an unlocked boot loader, install 587, flash CWM'd Kernel, flash Root.zip, done.

[Q] I want to Take Backup of my Xperia SL Rom.

I am using Xperia SL and it is not rooted or not changed anything from purchase , it's recently received Jelly bean update from Sony now my Question is how to make backup of This current rom on my PC or Laptop ?

You can't backup roms without root! But if you want to backup your apps download carbon from google play...

Please tell how to root
Then please tell me procedure to first root my device and taking backup of current Rom. Thank you.

CWM Recovery: I can't find it... The title of the thread should be "CWM Recovery for locked bootloader" and the author is DooMLoRD.
You can use CWM Recovery to backup your ROM.

After rooting your device in order to make a backup, you should install a Custom Recovery (CWM) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2308493
Just enter Recovery Mode on your device and look for the ‘backup and restore’ option in the Recovery menu. You can scroll up/down through the menu using the volume buttons and select options using the camera button.Select to make a backup and wait a few minutes until the process gets done.

What do you mean? When you are going to install cwm press Grant on SuperSU pop-up!

I have tried alot and many things to install ClockWorkMod CWM Recovery for Sony Xperia S, but not able to do it.
Please help me to install this CWM for Xperia S.
I am not able to install any other ROM for the same.

There are many ways to I have tried alot to do and as always i failed today whole day i spent on doing this but was not able to i have done the rooting part and now I am stuck with installing ROM to install ROM i need to have CWM and that is the pain as of now.
Can you please tell me how do i take this now. I am trying to install this thread ROM in my phone. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2349656

Ofcourse.. That's why askd u what is the error u r getting.. Take a screenshot in your PC while installing in the CMD.. Also are u on LB or UB?? I mean Locked Bootloader or Unlocked Bootloader??

Well I have tried to install it via RecoverX it says Installed successfully but still I am not able to find anything? Bro lets forget all this.
My phone is Rooted just want to know some following things,
How to install ROM and I want to install "ROMeXistenZ v3 | Ultra Edition | 10.3.1.A.0.244 | FULL HONAMI | 07/09" by niaboc79 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2349656
My bootloader is Locked I guess and I dont Have CWM.
My phone is not working properly now every morning I set alarm and when the time comes and that doent rings and that time the app gets crash I tried installing thrid party app but it is the same, now I want to update the whole new system.

Is your device Xperia Z??? No right.. U can't install that ROM in SXS.. But there is an eXistenZ Ultra ROM in our Dev section.. Download it.. Follow instructions provided in OP.. Read FAQ.. Do read everything in 1st page and then go ahead with installation..

and BRO still I want to know how take your phone in recovery mode i tried everything man but nothing is working now. Just want know how to reach in recovery mode coz i guess after that I can install the (ROM) zip file as i want.

search this. clockwork mod recovery for xperia s in xda. It will take you to cwm by doomlord. follow the steps there. Installation of cwm is different for xperia phones. There is no separate recovery partition. As of now Doomlord has compiled a nice cwm recovery for xperia s and just follow the instructions there and flash the kernel.elf file as per the instructions given there

I'm using Xperia S, bootloader unlocked and rooted using FlashTool.
I have installed RecoverX tool and it runs without problems. However, I'm not able to get into the recovery mode. Why??

Hello, I tried to install Cyanogenmod 11 to my Xperia Acro S, Rooted and Unlocked BL when i try to install the CM11.zip via CWM v6.0.2.7 it always say "Installation aborted". So now i tried to use TWRP v2.4.4 and also it failed to install. Can anyone help me to install this ROM ?

Try un-mounting the SYSTEM partition from the Recovery's > Mount menu before installing.
Cheers.

Extract the .zip and flash (flashtool) boot.img before flashing from recovery is my tip.

I know now how to install roms but my phone is soft brick x). HAHAHA thats my new problem. Btw thanks guys. :good:
